Eddie is not going to say he wants to get rid of anyone he does not want to upset the dressing room people should understand this And merry Christmas lads have a good one
I think Livramento is having a good season. He still has some work to do in terms of attacking and his decision making going forward, but he’s been sound defensively overall. I think the fact Hall is having an absolute blinder on the other side is probably overshadowing Tino a bit.
Time to make the move for a high caliber young goalie that can shadow Pope for the rest of the season. Great show guys. I am from the USA, but been a Newcastle fan since the late 80’s. Keep up the great work my friends!!!
@JohnnyJakartathe problem is we don’t know who is doing what transfer wise, Howe says one thing Mitchell says something else. I have NO idea what the club actually want to do these days.
Not buying the idea of Trippier fitness issue. He was fit and well up England. And how many weeks in now? I believe Trips took it personally that Howe did not allow him to leave for Bayern and Trips desire to leave and attitude affected his commitment to the team leading to change of captaincy and also a political masterstroke for the club to keep Bruno Guimaraes instead of allowing the board hoping someone would trigger his release clause and solve all the overspending they did. Anyways regarding Trips totally agree he's ahead of Livramento. Trips remain professional in front of everyone but i believe he went to Eddie and pushed to leave. He was putting up his house for sale and getting ready to leave. So in that sense, yes in hindsight its better to sell him, but nobody would expect Trips to drop this way given his leadership importance to the team and his professionalism in face value
Tripps was dropped and taken off from captain because he was a naughty boy and got caught. Same at Spurs and Madrid. He wanted to run away from it like he did previously. His personal issues are what have caused his downfall, simple as that.
This is not the time to fuck around with selling GKs when we are in the league cup semi-final. Stability would be needed. Dubz can leave in the summer. Extend his contract by one year if they have to. Stop putting untested keepers in goal in critical moments. I do not agree with Eddie saying Tino played brilliant. That is just not true. Hall is the one who is playing brilliantly. We need Tripps for the next big games.
merry xmas lads good take on transfers if they dont make any in january then your playing with fire, 1 or 2 injuries to key players then europe will not be acheivable the squad is light in so many positions with quality back-up there is back up but out of the subs apart from Miley and barnes who else has any quality tripps bring calmness and quality but is ageing
I don’t see Villa playing a high line this time. Emery is too smart for that, so we’d need to find a way to break them down BUUT I’m very confident that Tonali will dictate the game in our favour 🙌
Need to be asking about how we move forward without adding to the playing staff, otherwise we are maintaining status quo. Jordan reports NG that terms agreed for Trafford, does this mean that's a done deal? And arguably one of the least important positions to upgrade atm, thoughts?
Lads, I get doing nothing in January if it's going to let us do a lot more in the summer, but that 5th place spot is up for grabs and what if the difference between finishing there and below is not signing a prolific/higher quality right winger (I know Murphy is in good form but you know what I mean). Bearing in mind we could have to finish there to keep the likes of Isak here and happy too. Not saying it would be a disaster or wise if we didn't do anything but surely a lot of work is going on seeing what clubs are willing to pay for Longstaff and where that would leave us or whatever, before making the simple decision of 'we're going to do nothing'?
Newcastle cannot afford to buy in January unless they sell first? How is that possible? They didn't spend much in the summer and were prepared to spent £70M on Guehi...
Simple they planned to sell to buy in summer, they werent going to buy guehi without selling players in January. That or they are playing bluff to avoid bad negotiations
Newcastle have spent beyond their means and benefited from selling Anderson homegrown to help cover their lack of planning or ability to sell. And with Guehi they were about to do the same thing ahead. Buy first (overspend, go negative), which they can, and then figure it out later, which they did before. Now it makes sense why this kind of strategy is not fit for purpose. Eddie Howe’s job does not look into the accounting and financial planning (or lack thereof) of the club. His job is to care about his team and what players will strengthen is squad. But Paul Mitchell saw and started to see the problems. Darren Eales and then Dan Ashworth was supposed to run the club but you have Amanda Staveley the darling of supporters leading face of the transfers. In face value its all great and everyone loves her for helping bringing in all these players. But Darren Eales and PIF probably saw how unsustainable it is, and decided its better Stavely leaves and allow the management to do their work without too many head chefs trying to impress their guest while another is left to worry about the budget of the company. Now the problem is we are all spoilt how we have made those transfers and expecting it to be the same while complaining PSR when actually, it has helped us because we did not hold the management into accountability for not managing and planning the financial aspects better.
@@peternealon430 If theres 50m left as you say, then i dont see how is that a smart strategy blowing it all on a defender 60-70m and still needing to sell to cover the balance, and while still needing to strengthen on so many other areas? How it is it fit for purpose? I think reality needs to sink in that we do not have the buying power like top 6 clubs who have established their revenues over many years? We are still miles off in buying power but we have been spending good amount of money as if we are. When PSR happens, we blame PSR. Imo PSR helped us cover our mess that we created ourselves. Imo, its the management lack of plannin, overspending and willingness or ability to sell and led to this problem, which is why losing Andersen and buying 20m+ Vlachodimos need to happen. We lost a 40m pound player and wasted 20m+ gk we never wanted and sold Minteh 35m who could have given good competition on the RW. Its a total of 95m worth of mistakes that Paul Mitchell saw and called it as it is. Having said that, we benefited from having Isak, Gordon, Bruno, Tonali, Hall, Livramento and all these amazing players. Unless we have more Andersen and Minteh around in reserves, eventually this becomes unsustainable strategy.
The next two games will be a test for our centre backs. Can’t just back off players and let them shoot, Hoilund goal at OT springs to mind. Be aggressive.
If Vlachodimos is not to be trusted then send him on loan to build value for a sale. Otherwise give him a go he might be the best keeper currently at the club once in form.
We all know someone who hordes clutter, and doesnt like throwing anything away. Eddie Howe hordes footballers and doesnt like selling or giving anything away 😂
We are unable to spend anything. I know its going to hack a lot of fans off but its the way the league is set up. Until we sell a star player we are boxed in to no incomings, we are going to have to make peace with that.
Disjointed growling pains. in large football structures the Toon have gone from loaning Dubs out to a team that Cup tied him during a Cup and Euro standings campaign. Loosing to a team behind us in the comp then missing a spot because City cant beat the Red devils when it really counts. At least we have no fear of relegation every year.
Sorry guys but I have to disagree with yous BDB should not keep Botman out of the squad no matter how well he’s performed. It’s really like putting a ford focus against a rolls Royce which is what he is.
@ It has come from more then one source that PIF are going to be the front of shirt sponsor for Chelsea FC a 4 year deal @ 60m a year…I don’t know it it’s true but a lot of people are saying it…the fan base needs some clarifications on this if it’s true what’s the point

Even Mike Ashley didn't go three windows without signing a first team player 😢
A first team player in those days was a £10m pile of sh*te
Mike Ashley didn’t have PSR rules to contend with 😂
Do you think it’s a club decision not to sign players? Come on man 🙈

I would be surprised if Tino ever reaches Trippier’s level - he might, but I am not yet convinced
What are you talking about? How could they sell with only 11 players on the field?
Need to be asking about how we move forward without adding to the playing staff, otherwise we are maintaining status quo.

If Southampton get relegated we’ll get Ramsdale 100% - that’s why we will stick with what we have and wait
@JohnnyJakarta I'd happily stick with what we have in the GK department it's outfield where we need to add
