    Do you guys use liquid potash before picking. We plant on plastic with drip. Overhead watering causes to much fungus and disease. We grow Yellow sweet same one pollinator for every three plants. Great job melons look great.

      We will water run water-soluble nutrients through the buried drip during the growing process, depending on the plants needs. Taking tissue samples of the leaves for nutrient assessments really helps us in determining fertility needs during the plants development!

    I first started working watermelons in 1958 and the sweetest watermelon ever grown was the Klondike. Today ANY watermelon with seeds is always sweeter than Seedless. Why? I haven' a clue but trying yourself to prove it to yourself.

    How do keep the grass out

      Before the vines get too big, we use a tractor to mechanically cultivate the weeds 2-3 times. There's details of our cultivation process in our video on growing cherry tomatoes (we use the same tools for both)

    How do you prevent weeds?

    • @durstorganicgrowers1027
      @durstorganicgrowers1027  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for asking! We manage weeds using mechanical cultivation tools (all pulled/operated with tractors). If we do a good job with weed management while the plants are small, then as the watermelon plant canopy grows it should shade-out and out-compete most newly emerging weeds.

    God would not create a seedless watermelon thus it is not organic.
