I was at that concert, I was 17 years old. As I was walking home after, I was still in a daze, my ears ringing and realizing I had just been part of one of the greatest Live show ever made... A few years later, I was living in Germany and I attended the LiveAid concert, witnessing Queen perform the greatest 20 minutes ever done. I still have part of my ticket framed on my wall and I 'll keep it forever. What an amazing singer, what an amazing band. And remember: no auto tune, no electronics, just pure, raw talent. I was so lucky to grow up listening to these amazing bands that had real singers and real musicians !!!
@@AaliyahCapili if you want to see a a current band with a great singing drummer, and a powerhouse lead vocalist, check out The Warning. The song "Disciple" live at Teatro Metropólitan 8/29/2022 is a great introduction to them.
Fun fact. A journalist asked Freddie: "-How does it feel to be the best singer in rock?" Freddie responded: "- I don´t know, ask Steve Perry! (Journey)" Great reaction to this fantastic band, and singer! RIP Freddie, you are missed! For sure not just one of the best singingwise, but the best frontman ever! 😍
Their performance at Live Aid in 1985 is legendary. You can actually see the sound waves going back and forth from the stage to the back of the stadium at one point (I think it's during We will Rock You). Freddie Mercury gives a textbook performance on how to be a legendary front-man, he totally crushes it (as does the rest of the band). Great reaction!
This concert was presented in IMAX a couple of weeks ago. Of course, I’ve seen it on RUclips but the beautifully re-mastered theatre release was mesmerizing!
You're only 20. I'm so happy you found this amazing band. Freddie was just the best performer ever. Never forget Brian on guitar and did those astounding guitar solos. Roger on Drums and John on bass. I was there in the 80s and well put it this way. When Freddie died, I cried for days. Brian is overlooked as an amazing guitarist. Queen were made up of 4 members. All were outstanding.
Wonderful review. Queen and Freddie Mercury are one of the all time greats. When I was a young lad their albums A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races changed my life musically. As a young teenager, I never heard anything like that before and I knew I wanted to play music because of that. And over forty years later, I'm still playing guitar. RIP Freddie. You made the world just a little bit better.
No doubt Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest performances to ever take the stage. "Somebody to Love" is one of my favorite songs. "Millionaire Waltz" is an underrated song. Great analysis and as always, great reaction.
It was so wonderful to see a young person enjoying the music of my youth! The seventies was a great time to be young and alive, in many ways I think we lived life with innocent reckless abandon, young people today truly have no idea what total freedom and anonymously we lived. A bad experience didn't follow us like a dark cloud. One simply put a period at the end of a bad experience and moved on😢 not so today😢
Great reaction. I really like Freddie's vocal slides, they're so evenly done, it seems like he doesn't struggle with any particular note or range or use much head voice. It sounds like it's all from the diaphragm. What's funny watching this is, in any other band Roger Taylor would probably be the lead singer, or one of them, but Freddie is such a force of nature, he is THE front man. They are a real well-balanced band too, not overly guitar or bass driven, or beat happy, they're all working together and creating moments of intensity as well as fragility, versus having some sort of static backing track that doesn't go anywhere. Great songwriting.
Hi Aaliyah, another great reaction to truly one of the best bands of all time and to the incomparable Freddie Mercury! I really enjoy your reactions, I had a 10 minute break at work and went just a little over but it was worth it....have a great day and keep smiling!
Queen has to be one if the best bands of all time not only his vocals are good theres meaning in these songs if i can make a suggestion maybe i was made for lovin you by kiss but anyways i loved you smiled the whole way
He could also, and maybe you already know this, but sing opera. He had seen Montserrat Caballé and adored her, wanted to collaborate with her so sent her a demo (which I will put the link here) to see if she would be willing to do an album with him. After she heard it the album "Barcelona" came to life :) His demo is also on the album, but on the album Montserrat took the high notes and Freddy went lower, however in the demo, all the notes were him. In the demo there are no words just notes, but words were created for the album. The demo is like listening to an angel sing. Watching the two perform, you could see how much they truly adored one another, their chemistry was unreal. Demo: ruclips.net/video/cP5r9vKWA7A/видео.html
Queen made growing up in the 80s so good! When my dad passed last year, I took a lot of music DVDs and I made sure that Queen live at Wembley was one of them. What a colossal bunch of talent they were!
@@AaliyahCapili one of my strongest memories of Queen is after Freddie died, the tribute concert was unbelievable. It's worth checking out, Wembley stadium was packed!

Great reaction, Aaliyah, I really enjoyed watching this one! For a great example of Roger Taylor hitting the high notes you should try reacting to Queen doing "In The Lap of the Gods". The studio version might work best. And for a great live performance to rival this one I would suggest "White Queen" from the Odeon Hammersmith, featuring an amazing back and forth between guitar and piano!!

Good to see people hyping Roger Taylor. I'm a drummer who can't sing at all, but... The idea of singing AND drumming at the same time? That blows my mind. Phil Collins, Don Henley, and a few others. Few, being the operative word.
