Finally a decent review about the car
Have owned over 30 cars, usually 3 at a time, I move them on regularly but my 04XT 5 Spd is the only thing I have kept over the years because I love the thing. It’s my toy, my other cars are just modes of transport.
Well said.
Im buying a second Sg xt because i can't
My 04 jbp 5mt is amazing had it 6 yrs now
love my Rez Tester! rez roads, snow, mud, agile, fun to drive, good on gas, holds a butt-load of stuff, 5 of us went camping in it, i can see everything in front of me, huge sunroof, heated seats, stick shift, low and easy for my Gram and kids to get in and out, LOVE IT
I have 07' X, auto. I like the frameless window and easiest car to get in for elderly.
I have a 2006 "Facelift" SG9 XT, it has had some mods: STI intercooler/Y-pipe, cold air filter, WRX Pro front calipers, Pedders "Sports Ryder" coilovers,
taller hood scoop (off a "bugeye" Impreza) exhaust had been de-catted but I had a custom made cat fitted (centre) to make it road legal here in UK and it
has a Prodrive backbox/tailpipe.
My one is slightly scruffy, but it's my daily ride and I use it for my part time gardening job, so some of the time it has a lawnmower in the back :-)
Such fun to drive esp with the "whooosh-sh-sh-sh" from the re-circulating valve system.
Mine is auto too, but I drive it in "sports shift" mode.
Thumbs up.
Great Video!
I have the limited edition in red! The paint job is so beautiful it keeps getting key’d
😂😂
I'd LOVE to have a turbo in my 05 Red Pearl LL Bean, it's a nice little wagon but the turbo would be FUN....
I miss my 04 XT. Did a Ej257 swap. Ultimate sleeper
Terrific!
Love my 2015 Subaru Forester 😁💯
I had a 2003 xt with 300000miles on it.It ran like new and i loved it,still miss it :(
What happened to it? Is it still running?
@@musasizigodfreydixion6231 i think it still works fine.
Why did I not see this 8 months 😢
Wish I could talk like this about my rav4.... :D
I have a 2004 FXT... I really understand what you meant by the speakers in this car, they sound wonderful... HOWEVER... I've noticed that the stock headunit volume goes from 0 to 30... anything higher than 12-15... doesnt increase the volume at all in my car, just extremely distorts it. does this happen in yours?
Paint color is called java black pearl only used a couple years I believe on the xt
Only 05 or 04 05.. On the wrx n fxt
jennifer baker not completely sure mine was a 04 fxt
Weather man you’re wrong !!! 🤣
After watching this video,I have fallen in love with this 2004 Subaru Forester .Does it have cruise controls. What mileage does it give you @ liter of petrol?
Yes it has cruise control. I regularly get 21-23 mpg (~10.7 L/100km)
Importing a fresh 2005 Forester To Canada. I definitely would not consider a Forester as fast as an STi. My stock 04 jdm STi will do circles around any Forester.. ej207 in the JDM STis are a weapon.
Depends on your build bud. My foresters about to be rebuilt to 450 awhp
Chains on a subaru tho? RIP symmetrical awd
Im getting a 2004 xt. Does that come with all the same features as this one?
2004 and 2005 are the same :)
what camera and mic you got?
In description
Is your exhaust just a muffled or full system?
Full system, I have a video on the full replacement
It is not almost as fast as a sti. I own a xt and I can say I love it and have wanted one for a long ass time. But I've driven sti's and definitely not even close. Definitely fun to drive tho and going to be doing some stuff to mine
Stock 2005 STI 0-60 time is 4.6
Stock 2005 FXT 0-60 time is 5.2
After full exhaust and turbo FXT is faster
@@JRobling 5.3 second in the forester only with the 5 speed manual. Automatic is 6 sec.
@@headless7345 my 04 with 4 "bellmouth dp to 3"mid to 3.5"str8 pipe n a Cobb Sri. No box. Does 0 to 60 in 4.6 to 4.8
It is definitely faster than a stock sti
Fxt has such a strong n short 1st gear it launches hard.. N chirps all 4 into 2nd. My lc is set at 4k ish give or take
You lost me at ebay turbo
I have a 05 Ford Escape Hybrid. FWD unfortunately but I love it.
05 is the best model of foresters
If you are a fan of head gasket work.
@@bryanl5721 only if you suck at driving
@@stupidslave isn't 04 the same
@@trashbandit2449 pretty much, except the 05 had stronger head gaskets and a little bit more shit to make it newer
@@stupidslave is that the XT or NA? Are the 04's MLS headgaskets bad?
250hp?
I want to get a forester 05-08 for my first car, would that be a good choice?
Salty But Sain I have a Subaru forester sg 2.0xt and its my first car. This car is so cool and fucking expensive 😂 But i dont give a fuck
yes and no, Subarus are generally high maintenance and expensive. really be careful when buying one used because they can be a hit or miss
If you can save money to set aside for possible hefty repairs or are mechanically inclined yes. When buying them if they are 100k miles and up make sure the owner has paperwork for timing belt and water pump done as well as make sure the owner maintained the vehicle properly. When left close to stock or stock they are very reliable. I have a 2004 forester (same body as the years you described) with 260k miles. It’s been very reliable. The only issue I’ve had is from rust on a coolant line from this car being a northern car. Other than that I put 20k miles on it in a year with no hiccups and I’ve done some hooning around some wet fields and trails with it and it loved it.
I’ll also add if the head gaskets have been done your golden. If not make sure you have some money saved up to have them done. Another option is to find an importer near you where you can get motors at a decent price. The non turbo model engines are fairly cheap ~800-100 in Virginia where I live.
I would also recommend you get one with a manual as they are more reliable the. The automatics in them.
Learn how to do your own maintenance and treat her right and she’ll last.
Yeah I'm selling mine bc I'm tired of the constant & difficult repairs on my Forester XT. Absolutely love the concept of the car, grossly disappointed with the execution.
☝🏾❤️🤙🏾🇺🇸
2007 vs 2005?
Basically the same
Tripple layer head gaskets began in 2007. A huge improvement from 2005.
@@bryanl5721 didn't the turbo EJs all have MLS anyway?
Freddy Mercury alive...?
Very clean.. But auto😢... The 18 intercoller won't work.. U lost me there
It does, it's installed, it's a video
@@JRobling oh I havnt paid much attention 2 the new ones but they had plastic end caps from like 10 n up or something... Or was that just for the reg rex
Was it a hard project. Modding to fit or no.. I have a 04 jbp 5mt
Direct replacement, must be from an STI
VF48 OEM is 400 bucks.
Get a real turbo.
Apparently someone doesn't watch my videos
@@JRobling actually no, I hadn't. I just found your channel, when I posted that two weeks ago.
I have been watching since, so relax.
"basically an STi" except it doesn't have the Forester STi suspension or 6 speed or any of the actual Forester STi drivetrain... ok
