  • Bon Kalindo also known as Winiko, is a former Member of Parliament for Mulanje South and a former UTM party Director for Youth. After he resigned from his UTM position and effectively dumped the party, he turned to activism. He was professionally trained as a primary school teacher and taught in primary school in Mulanje and Blantyre. Bon is not shy to court controversy.
    In January 2019 he was arrested in Lilongwe and charged with two counts of alleged disorderly conduct and insulting the president at Balaka Police Station. Upon release he said the arrest helped him know the syndicate responsible for the persecution of people with albinism. He agreed to disclose more once your case is through but has not yet done so.
    On 25 January 2022, Police in Lilongwe arrested him for alleged illegal connection of electricity at a house he was staying in. Malawi Police Service said it had arrested him for illegal connection of electricity at a house he was residing in in Area 25 in Lilongwe.
    In April 2022 he released a voicenote where he gave a 7-day ultimatum to President Chakwera to remove ACB Director Martha Chizuma following her leaked audio in January 2022, which has now been sanctioned to be under investigation by a court. He also threatened to organise nationwide demonstrations if President Chakwera fails to fire Chizuma.
    On 10 December, he was arrested for publishing a false statement contrary to section 60 (1) of the Penal Code. Malawi Police Service (MPS) Public Relations Officer James Kadadzera said on 9 October whilst addressing a crowd gathered for demonstrations, he published a false statement to the effect that late Clement Chiwaya, Former Deputy Speaker, was murdered at Parliament Building in the City of Lilongwe.
