halo hunter but from 95 till 07 were front wheel drive. Before that they were rear wheel drive. I was talking with someone that builds cars about making my 97 at the time rat wheel drive. And he told me to costly to be possible.
I miss this show, one of the only things I liked about cable TV. Too bad they won't go the Motor Trend route and at least create a subscription here on
The fifth gen Monte Carlo are models 1995-1999, the 04s are sixth gen, this Monte Carlo isn’t even a fifth gen it’s a fourth gen, the fifth gen is that front wheel drive lumina looking Monte Carlo which is what I was expecting, cause that would actually be a bad ass swap
@@shawnrayes3941 This car is a third gen made from 1978 to 1988. The last of the rear wheel drive Monte Carlos. They changed the body some in 1981 but the frame was the same.
4th Gen(My dad had the Last 1988 SS Sold in Chicago in 1988) the 5th gen was a Lumina 2 door so the swap would be a FWD LS Swap on a 5th gen but this is a classic G body SS Here
I miss the old show with Chuck and Joe or just as Mike came on board. There seemed to be a lot more work being shown in each episode. Now its like 2 mins of work or a 5 minute montage, then its either a bunch of commercials or a segment on a car show, or car school or something.
Just take a “350” block with the casting number 3970010, it makes a real nice 383 with no problems whatsoever and lo and behold 550 to 600 horsepower without all the bullshit and wow like magic it fits without all the bullshit that these guys with unlimited budgets are using
@@brettlyde6338 The bumpers had nothing to do with which generation it was. If it was a totally designed car then it was considered a newer generation car.
All lies, I have done this swapped plenty of times and all lies. Trying to get you to buy a ton of unneeded parts. The truck bracket works with no problems. It's a difference between swapping for functionality and swapping for pretty people.
Umi lower mounts with stock truck uppers...Holley 302-2 pan, stock truck accessories and intake clear just fine.. way more bs than necessary Ps that's a 4th gen
Miss waking up early on weekends for the power block while other kids watched garbage

*4th gen Monte Carlo. 5th gen is 95-99 and would've taken a whole lot longer than a 2 minute tech tip to explain how to do it...
Ya I think they were wrong

You can put an LS from an 06-07 into a 95-99. They are the same platform. Would be easier than this I bet.
I thought they were inputting this into a 4th GEN I was about to say this going to be nutz.

The intro is reminiscent of "Oh hey, I didn't see you there.. How are you doing" commercial intros. lol
good to see you again Joe! miss you buddy!
Wow that's so cool especially putting in that Monte Carlo gonna be a beast when done

They have an app and website where you can watch new and old full episodes for free. I dont see the problem...
They do have a subscription model lol
does the block still come on T.V this was the best.
What is the part number/s for those LS accessory brakets?
Joe! He's a cool guy.Met him at Atlanta Dragway years ago.Hes a little guy.Alot shorter than he looks on tv
That whole clip was worth the last 10 secs
Same engine I'm putting in my 84 monte
Wish I could swap one into my 02 Monte Carlo, since the stock V6 and trans have been massive headaches for me.

Hi all. I have a 1976 Monte Carlo which needs a new engine. Can I fit a 5.3 LS4 there?
Wasn't too bad. I put one in my 1980 Monte Carlo back in 2011
Alot Of that you don't have to worry about when you get a LT1 or LT4 for same generation Monte Carlo.
I've used to watch Horsepower TV before it was changed and went to HD special cable that I can't even get

just bought my 87 monte ss yesterday, getting ideas at 6am.. tryna figure out if this is the most efficient way to get power, price and keep a/c lol
what would it typically cost to do the work if all i have is the ls motor... i didnt kno u had to relocate parts to fit it
Are you asking the cost of parts and labor or just fabrication parts?
what's the PN#
How much for the set up?And exactly on a Monte Carlo like that how much would the whole swap cost hmmmmm?
me5nme55 to damn much to be for a "project" car
I had fun with the oil pan on mine
It’s been 5 years. Did y’all ever finish the Monte?
I’m trying to do an engine swap on a 2001 Monte Carlo. Will I be able to put a 3.8 engine in my Monte Carlo in place of the current 3.4 engine it has?
That engine came in the upper trim levels so yes. It would probably be easier to buy a car that has the SS package though.
Can someone please share with me the video he done of removing the ls 5.7 from the ss camaro please
I am doing s ls swap in my 94 caprice classic can i still use my radiator
That pulley system is a pretty penny
No shit. $2,400? No thanks.
They never give part numbers
