- The Pénichette Evolution is the modern interpretation of the popular Pénichette houseboats from the charter company Locaboat Holidays. The boat is ideal for a small family or for up to four adults. Due to the compact dimensions of 9.50 meters in length and 3.18 meters in width, the boat is very clear and easy to use even for houseboat beginners. This is supported by the innovative control technology using a joystick. This is used for navigation when driving slowly, e.g. when mooring. For normal driving, the steering wheel and bow and stern thrusters are available on an inside and an outside steering position. With a depth of one meter, a view of the depths of the water should always be part of the journey.
The spacious interior can be variably divided into two salons. A sliding door right next to the wet room serves for this purpose (not explicitly mentioned by Frank in the video). Both salons have sofas that can easily be converted into beds. The modern design of the boat, which has been in the fleet since 2018, stands out pleasantly from other boats and impresses with its clear lines. The fact that the advantage of double use of the sofa as a place to sleep is bought at the price of the disadvantage of converting the bed in the morning is certainly a matter of taste. As a result, storage space also has to be found for the bedding. In addition, the lack of a circumferential gangway means that we always have to walk through the saloon from the stern to the bow of the boat. Certainly feasible in summer, but a bit cumbersome with wet shoes in rainy weather. On the other hand, there is the optimal exploitation of the space across the entire width of the boat and the almost stepless room concept of the living area.
By default, there is currently one bike on board, but more can be booked as well.
An economical diesel generator (3L / h) supplies the consumers on board with electricity and drives the 11 kW electric motor as well as the bow and stern thrusters. This guarantees a smooth journey and eliminates the need for gas, which is normally used on board as an energy source for heating, ovens and refrigerators.
Wenn nicht irgendwas Unvorhergesehenes dazwischen kommt, werde ich das Boot sehr bald für 11 Tage in den Niederlanden fahren (zu viert). Ich bin gespannt. Die kompakten Abmessungen sollten dort vorteilhaft sein. Wir werden versuchen, 4 Fahrräder unterzubringen - zwei auf der Badeplattform, zwei oben auf der Flybridge. Ja, vorwärts anlegen, wenn es keinen Seitensteg gibt, ist wahrscheinlich keine gute Idee. Mit der Steuerung ist man aber ja sehr wendig. Was fehlt im Beitrag ist ein Hinweis, dass man die Kabinen natürlich voneinander abtrennen kann. Laut Beschreibung und Bildern gibt es sowohl zwischen vorderer Kabine und Dusche/WC Bereich, wie auch zwischen hinterer Kabine und Dusche/WC Bereich je eine Schiebetür. Zur Frage, wie lange der Strom "reicht", wenn der Generator nicht mehr läuft: Gar nicht! Also jedenfalls nicht Herd / Backofen. Diese gehen nur wenn entweder der Generator läuft, oder Landstrom angeschlossen ist. Wenn der Generator nicht läuft, geht nur Niederspannung, Licht, Kühlschrank, etc., sowie eine der 230V Steckdosen (per Wechselrichter mit begrenzter Leistung für z.B. Computer o.ä.). Also im Wesentlichen geht ohne Generator das was auf einem "normalen" Boot mit Batteriestrom halt auch geht. Zum Kochen muss man halt statt Gas anzuzünden die Zündung einschalten und den Generator starten.

Hallo Carsten, mir wurde der Antrieb der Evolution so erklärt: Das Schiff besitzt einen Dieselgenerator, der bei Nenndrehzahl sehr ruhig läuft und dadurch Strom produziert. Mit diesem Strom wird alles an Bord betrieben, also sowohl der Schiffsantrieb als auch die Querstrahlruder. Aber auch die weitere Bordelektrik und Elektronik. So wird bspw. elektrisch gekocht und gekühlt. Es gibt also kein Gas an Bord.
Beim Navigieren auf engstem Raum kann man den Joystick benutzen, der Schiffsantrieb und Querstrahlruder anspricht und aufeinander abgestimmt steuert. So lässt sich die Evolution seitwärts bewegen oder auch auf dem Teller drehen.
Ich hoffe, ich konnte Dir hiermit die gewünschten Details geben und freue mich auf einen weiteren Austausch. Mit welchen Schiffen bist Du am liebsten unterwegs?

@@DERHAUSBOOTPROFI Hallo Frank ... danke für Deine Antwort. Da kann ich mir in der Tat was drunter vorstellen :-)
Das Boot hat Vorteile aber auch Nachteile, die schon erwähnt werden sollten. Das Volumen des Abwassertanks ist mit 75 l sehr "überschaubar". Auch ist ein Ausstieg beim Anlegen mit Bug oder seitlich eher beschwerlich. Und wie lange "reicht" der Strom, wenn der Motor nicht mehr läuft ?

Dieses Boot ist kein Boot was man empfehlen kann.
