I remember seeing this one on Kickstarter. Reading the rules and watching the playthrough than seam to be designed as a better multiplayer experience. Hope you can prove me wrong as I enjoy these style of games. Thanks for the unboxing. Look forward to the review when time permits. Have a great day.

I have read all the rules but it will take a bit of time to dig into this one. Going to play with the simple AI first until I get the hang of the game.

@@JohnLaRuffa The base game is not solo compatible. Individuals need to ensure to obtain "Crisis and Control" mini expansion. The Kickstarter Extended edition included this expansion. If you decide to purchase the game ensure the expansion is included with your version

Thanks for video. I backed but have not played yet. Still reading background book. Like high school again. 😂
I sometimes sleeve. How do you shuffle large decks when sleeved? Like Ark Nova or Terraforming etc.

I end up cutting the deck into several stacks and shuffling them separately, then recombining them.

The automa comes with two options, a 'simple' and 'advanced' version. Although the advanced version is a better simulation of real play, it seems that most people who have played both prefer the 'simple' version, because the complexity of the advanced version is not worth it just for the improved simulation. Of course, it isn't a simple game, and so the 'simple' automa, while pretty clean, can not really be all that simple.
And while the game is considered heavy-the asymmetry alone dictates that the number of rules will be large-the rule systems fit together in ways that are surprisingly intuitive. For example, the Capitalist likes high import tariffs, because they are protectionist for their industries, inducing the consumer classes to purchase from the Capitalist rather than the now more expensive goods from abroad (although if the Capitalist is winning, the consumers may choose to pay more and boycott the Capitalist rather than enriching them…), and allows them to maintain higher prices on their goods. This all flows naturally from the rules, and it is not hard to learn how this interaction works.
(I just got my copy and am hoping to play it soon)

I have only had one play thus far and played as the WC vs. the Capitalists. I used the simple mode which was easy to execute. However, it doomed the Capitalists mid game because they built up way too many industries and did not sell their goods to Export before the round ended. That left them very cash poor and they had to take 3 loans to cover the expenses of paying my workers. That would not have happened if playing with the advanced version I would guess since they really overextended themselves. I am going to reverse the roles next and see how the simple automa does with the WC. I will eventually try the advanced version at some point, but there is a LOT of stuff already going on in this game so I don’t know if I will want to add additional decision trees which would lengthen the game. I will try it at some point soon, but I might end up just playing with a modified simple mode that uses some common sense choices to skip to the next action on the card should the general strategy point to following it just because it can carry it out would lead to a certain loss.

that looks like a very chonky boy... too heavy for my taste probably but it's seems very good.
