    It's actually in the Apache NF but this part is administered by the Gila.
    The bull elk probably hadn't started to grow their new antlers at that time of year.

    Nice! Looks like I missed this one. The Gila wilderness has endless areas to explore.

      We are trying to hit as many of these cool campgrounds this summer. So many to find and explore! Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the walk through Armijo Campground. Can you tell me exactly how to get there from the little town of Quemado ? Not finding it on the map.....Thanks, Billy 11 / 1 / 2023

      As you leave Quemado lake campground, head south on Hwy 43, its only a few miles and you will see a sign pointing east (shown in video) for Armijo Springs road. Follow that dirt road approx 2 miles to the campground . You can find it on Google Maps. Enjoy!

      Sorry, but still looking. Didn't find 43 or Armijo springs on Google maps. Found Quemado and Quemado lake. Not sure if that would be too far to be when planning a hunt in unit 12 Quemado area. Thanks. 11 / 5 / 2023

      @@SKYHAWK0115 you have to zoom in quite a bit to find it. It is literally just a few miles down the road.

    The website says no big rigs, but I'm guessing my truck and teardrop would be fine. Nice!

    • @RobinT-treehugger
      @RobinT-treehugger  Год назад +1

      Yes, you would be fine. There were a couple of ruts in the road but easily avoidable.

    For some reason our tv will not let us add “thumbs ups” to videos so I have at last remembered to give you a batch of them for all these great videos. We are planning a couple of months in NM this fall and your videos are really informative and enjoyable. Nice and mellow, great to watch for relaxing and dreaming of walking in beautiful places. Keep it up!! We’ll be back for another bundle of thumbs ups after another set of views! Any place you consider absolutely unmissable in NM? (Probably a long list) We will try and follow the weather from NW clockwise…Thanks for the time you put in!

    Was there any other campers there? Been to few camp grounds that were empty. Kinda creepy feeling One had a missing person poster. Decided to use my 6th sense and not stay.

      No one there that weekend except someone camping outside of the campground on the dirt road. Didn't feel creepy at all.
