Drake is very VERY versatile and a student of the game. To me, he's the closest iteration in hip hop to a fusion between Kanye West and Jay-Z. As far as his run in the game, pop appeal, melody driven writing, etc etc a true STUDENT. It makes sense that he always cites them as his greatest influences and the guys that he's "chasing"

All the references in the song are towards Memphis yes that was Zach Randolph (Memphis) The “If I fuck up imma be downtown man, 4th floor bound man” is a Project Pat (Juicy J’s Brother) a Memphis legend line. 901 is Memphis Area code. Shelby Dr is a main road in Memphis.
