    For me,ZZZ is perfectly fine for me, good character design,good gameplay and for the story it's kinda mid but I still love it tho like hey, we all have our own opinion,no need to fight about it right

      Hoyo has always had some trouble telling stories without Shaoji. The dude is single-handedly saving their games. Honkai part 1? Written by Shaoji, everyone loves it. Part 2? Started off without Shaoji, plenty of complaints. Guess who’s going back to writing Honkai now that he’s done his part in Penacony? Shaoji. The story they’ve set up without Shaoji looks interesting, but like Genshin I imagine it’ll take a while before it gets really really good

    what's mind boggling for me, is requiring 100 gb for just installation is crazy, yet Hoyo can provide 5x smaller than the pc files.

    • @venic_lol
      @venic_lol  3 месяца назад

      In all fairness it ends up being 50ish GB after unzipping, but it's pretty insane that it got to that point for a game that doesn't seem that big

    its a solid 6/10. Combat is a bit simple and the character designs that aren't lolis are great. Story is okay and the music is solid. Im up to level 29 and its just going to be a game I play for 20 minutes a day.

      Yeah, I'm still deciding on if I'll play it much but I think it has the framework for something good, and hopefully it improves

  • @bruh10246
    @bruh10246 3 месяца назад

    Keep in mind the game is only out for 4 days. The game is essentially raw still, hoyo has a tendency to fix things along the way.

    • @bruh10246
      @bruh10246 3 месяца назад

      Also voicing every single dialogue is just not possible. Sure hoyo is a billion dollar company but voicing everything will drain the budget immediately

    • @venic_lol
      @venic_lol  3 месяца назад

      Of course, I hope things do improve, and I've already noticed things improving in the game from the beginning. I'm not a game dev, so I'm not sure how realistic voicing all dialogue is, but if it's that expensive that's unfortunate. However I still believe having parts of the main story being unvoiced is inexcusable

    • @davidnguyen3469
      @davidnguyen3469 3 месяца назад

      @@venic_lol On paper it sounds good, as you can no longer get drops from other sets, and you can craft the missing pieces. But it's offset by other changes, such as upgrade mats obtainable only via events and gacha, weapons becoming even harder to obtain, and the afformentioned S rank each patch.
      I don't understand what's going on in Hoyo's leadership. Instead of diversifying like Shift Up did with Nikke and Stellar Blade, they instead homogenize everything. HI3 used to keep its identity, but lost it once Part 2 got released.

    Games not perfect obviously but I did want to bringvto attention that in the roguelike mode one of the corruption debuffs increases the dodge cooldown. So that dodge cooldown doesn't have to be set in stone for all difficulties.
    Also about running errands. Yeah that's basically the main character's job. They're basically like a fixer from Cyberpunk 2077. People come to them with problems and they find mercenaries to fix the problems. It's an unpopular opinion but I've enjoyed it so far. Having the option to skip helps as well.

    • @venic_lol
      @venic_lol  3 месяца назад

      So far the roguelike mode has been a walk in the park, but maybe I need to get further to experience it actually being hard.
      In terms of errands I get it, that's the whole point of the story, but then at least voice act the quests and make them more entertaining. Personally they don't feel like they're handled with much care and they get carried by an occasional joke, aside from that the sidequests have been pretty lame personally. If you like em that's great though

    I've seen so many Genshin players complain that the combat is simple, but Genshin's combat is simple aswell, probably more so in the early stages, right? These games are incredibly casual friendly, and I don't really feel like Genshin and ZZZ are that different.

    • @venic_lol
      @venic_lol  3 месяца назад

      They're very similar. You just repeat your rotations in combat over and over, ZZZ just has more interaction with the enemy with dodging and parrying, while genshin has more setup

    I also had a negative viewpoint on the game and almost didn't even play it. But, same as you, I thought that I shouldn't hate before trying it.
    That said I agree with most of your points. Here's something I want to add:
    - The story is boring since the only interesting parts of it are some flashy scenes and some banter between the characters. Ther is no big goal or overarching evil. It's just two siblings running a random store in a random street helping out random people.
    - I really hate how often I have to run through the same friggin stage. I even lost count how many friggin times I ran through the stupid railsration or whatever part of the city this as supposed to be.
    - I think the game does a very poor job of explaining the "mechanics". As with many games they do toss around a ton of unneeded lingo such as "special skill" and "EX special skill" or "Chain attack" (that probably being hte most normal). Combine that with certain buffs you get e.g. Ellen's "Flash Freeze" and you start to wonder why you have little to no icons or any form of display for sthose buffs and stacks. It's not only realting to ZZZ but I really hate that about these games. Combine all of this with all the other "new words" and terms you have to "learn" in order to know what is going on, what you're supposed to do and who need what when why and it's just messy.
    I'd say Gacha games can at best be a 8/10, since they are predatory gambling games, but for me ZZZ lands at probably 4/10 at this point. No other Gacha so far made me yawn and think of things I could do instead of playing this game during the MSQ of the 1.0... Knowing Hoyo and their track record I'm likely to drop this soon. Especially since I got Soldier 11 from my standard banner. Only Char I wanted less than her was the doggo. So yeah, great start for me, all things considered.

    • @venic_lol
      @venic_lol  3 месяца назад +1

      Personally I'm going to be ranking gacha games on their own scale, but yes I agree they simply cannot be above an 8/10 when compared with normal games.
      In terms of the game not explaining things well, I assume it's intentional, however in all fairness during character trials you can mostly figure out what the terms mean in combat through trial and error. I still agree with you though, they likely could've improved upon that

    The problem with character design in this game for me is that there is no consistency. There are no issues individually, but when it feels like everything goes, it just looks like a visual jumble of random ideas, which means nothing stands out, and everything feels meh.
