AU means Alternative Universe, and to me Timeline means: That you choose a timeline you want from the Original Show, for example Naruto Shippuden is a Timeline in of the Anime Naruto. So to me this is an AU, since Naruto becomes a Villain, nothing else changes, and that means it’s an AU. It pretty much depends on what you change and not. It doesn’t have to be entirely different from the cannon universe of the Show
