    High Speed: amzn.to/3weLZb2
    Standard: amzn.to/49WvdLp
    Standard w/25pc Kit: amzn.to/49WivMI
    3 Speed: amzn.to/3VvkL9T
Made for Japan. These are less expensive but I am not sure if you can get warranty support.

    Standard: amzn.to/3JF2C2K
    Standard w/25pc Kit: amzn.to/49WivMI
    31pc Bit Set: amzn.to/44gYC1C
I was told that the 3-speed was "updated for the US market and is compatible with US bits". All of my conversations since NHS have been with the Japanese manufacturer and language is sometimes a slight barrier, so take that for what it's worth. You can tell if one of these is for the US market as the power switch will be blue.

I have used Vessel screw drivers for over 35 years. I worked for a Japanese owned company, doing maintenance work. These are great quality tools and designed to feel good in your hand. The ball design allows comfort during prolonged use such as terminal tightening electrical panels . .

I bought a red 3 torque setting USBC Vessel screwdriver while in Japan in January, which comes with an interesting customer service story.
The 220-USB model came in many different promo colors in Japan and I bought it from a truly giant big box type store. I bought a bunch of hand tools from there, and headed back to my in-laws place to find they accidentally charged me for 2 of the Vessel powered screwdrivers. I did not notice in store because we bought a bunch of stuff and we were in a hurry to catch a bus.
Not knowing how this would be handled, my in-laws called the store to complain about the overcharge, because the store was in a neighboring city and would require a subway and bus ride to get back to resolve. The store manager apologized and sent an employee to hand deliver a refund in cash right to their condo room door - more than 40 minutes away!
Can you imagine a Home Depot employee (or any store in the US) taking a bus and train to hand deliver a refund 40+ minutes away? I'd be surprised if they provided a refund at all.

    • @ccbowers
      @ccbowers 2 месяца назад

FYI, the store was called Keiyo D2 and was quite huge and impressively large place to visit, especially for Japanese hand tools, but they had all sorts of stuff, lumber, appliances, power tools, household items, and a 100 yen store.

I'm happy to hear about your experience with the tool. And the company that you delt with. I'm looking for a tool such as this.
You mentioned "can you imagine Home Depot " doing something like this. Well actually I can. I retired from Home Depot four years ago. I worked for the company for 33 years. Let me say, that I'm not speaking on their behalf. I have to say that. I retired as a District Sales Manager. To answer your question, if a Home Depot would bring a refund to a customer at their home. This day in time if a Manager were send any employee to a customer's home, the short answer is yes they would, it would be an assistant manager. In the past it may've been a lower ranking employee. However during this day and time. It's going to be a Salaried employee. For lots of reasons. But quite frankly if it was a simple refund they may be able to just refund the transaction to their card, it would depend on the circumstances and amount.
The point is, my experiences with the company go so far beyond this sort of simple issue.
I know that you may think I'm being overly sensitive. But I just have to say. That the company and the employees are like my family. They don't always live up to our expectations. But they're still family. If I could go back to work with them. I would in a minute. Unfortunately my body isn't willing to participate.
I'm glad the other company took good care of you.

My favorite screw driver was the Easy driver a simple ball headed ratcheting driver I bought in the mid 80’s. It had a Phillips on one side of the shaft and slot on the other no bits to lose, until I was married and my wife threw it away thinking it was broken, not knowing you had to switch the shaft too the other side of the ball😢 I was able too find the larger one with interchangeable bits from Prat and Read as Orchard Supply was going out of business but nobody seems too make this type anymore. I still had the wife though 😂the electric one intrigues me.

I was given a black and decker pencil style screwdriver ( had to purchase replacement batterys for it) I use it all the time on my RC cars. If you have old hands with arthritis setting in, the power screw driver is priceless. That style wouldn't work for me because of the size of the ball. I seldom use the angle feature on my driver, but it is there if needed.

I’ve been using vessel for many years. I have the original version that’s been extremely good for the last several years and recently upgraded to the 3-speed imported from Japan. It’s been just as good and much more powerful. I also have 3 sets of the MegaDora/Tang Through drivers for many years and they don’t have equal. I sold all my Snap-On screwdrivers about a month after getting my vessels. I’ve also used the quarter drive bits for many years with almost no wear over that time.
Vessel is in the top 3 best when it comes to anything screwdriver/bit driver in my bit. Made in Japan is always a win.
Great review and looking forward to more Japanese tools in the future. Shine on!

I may look into the 3 speed, I recently got a manual driver that has an adjustable shaft and uses the 1/4" adapter so I can jump between my manual driver and my Drill/screw gun/impact gun. Coupling this with the Hercules 100 piece bit set and impact rated bit holder and it covers almost everything I need for work. This driver isn't the bulky ones I have seen in the past so this might be the way to go for a powered hand driver.

I would like to see a variable speed version where simply pushing the sliding switch increases the speed faster the more you slide it or further down you push it. I don’t like having to stop and switch speeds and a lot of the time it is necessary to start a screw slowly so you don’t cross thread it. Instead of three or four different versions one well made variable driver then offer bit sets and a hard case as accessories.

Been using the old style for 6ish years and the new one for at least 2 years ordered az jp. They sure are handy but when you get the Japanese version that extra play you see is because it's 13mm not 9mm anvil. Japan has great bits and the double sided tend to be the most useful ph2/sl6. Just don't try and use the 13mm anvil bits in us or European drivers they won't stay in quick release holders besides weras.

I found this with a keyboard that I use for work my original was micro USB and the recent one I bought uses USB C. The both plus models are great drivers. I carry one in all my tool bags and I use them daily. The non premium 220usb plus actually feels more premium than the premium version.
I don’t recommend the non plus models only because you have carry two drivers to get the function of a single plus model.
In my experience these drivers shine more when working with machine screws. Such as electrical, door and lock work.
Not really the best choice for the majority of wood work.
