इस बार नीतीश कुमार का समर्थन NDA के दूसरे सहयोगी जीतन राम मांझी की पार्टी ने भी की है. नीतीश कुमार 2005 से बिहार के लिए विशेष राज्य का दर्जा मांग रहे हैं. ऐसे में माना जा सकता है कि बजट से पहले विशेष राज्य के दर्जे का दबाव रंग ला सकता है.
