@@ciaronsmith4995 1) Even if Alonso was slower than Kimi, consistency (both from him and from Renault) awarded Alonso and Renault both championships in 2005 and 2006. 2) Talking about 2005, we must admit that Schumacher didn't have a car to fight for the championship. But Alonso was skilled enough to keep him back in Imola 2005. And in 2006, Schumacher's Ferrari was clearly faster than Alonso's Renault. But both consistency and reliability made it possible for Alonso to win the championship (in almost equal conditions). If you want another example, Hungary 2003, Alonso lapped Schumacher in his way to his first victory. 3) His year with Hamilton in McLaren was full of irregularities, based on the fact that both Ron Dennis and the English press wanted Hamilton not only to be their first driver, but to win the championship... In his rookie year. Alonso was an "enemy at home", and was given some unfair treatment. Against all odds, he was able to fight for the championship till the last race, so fair enough. In the next decade, Alonso had slower cars than Hamilton (yet more reliable in his Ferrari years), so their fight was close enough, being Alonso the one who fought for more championships against Vettel. 2014 onwards, is another story. Alonso's bad decision and Lewis great move to Mercedes define it all.
This wasn't a fluke win. He was dramatically closing on Kimi & would've likely passed him on the final lap anyway. Also I guess his other 6 wins in '05 were flukes too... Kimi's 2007 world title was a 'fluke' after Mclaren cost both their drivers the title that year. Screw you respublik1 for your bias.
THEY WERE FLUKES. Kimi would have dominated Imola and France if not for hydraulics failure and a 10 place grid drop! Hockenheim was also a fluke! Kimi's engine blew up in the race while leading! Enough.
downvoted for calling Alonso's amazing drives that resulted in wins "fluke" I could say that all of Räikkönen's wins that year were fluke wins because he clearly had the fastest car on the grid. Apparently a lot of racing fans need a better understanding of being lucky/unlucky.
Rarely wins by fluke? Imola 2005, Nurburgring and Hockenheim 2005, Japan 2006, Singapore 2008, Bahrain 2010, Germany 2010, Korea 2010, Valencia 2012 + many more 2nd and 3rd places by fluke, cheat or team-orders
MegaAble1234 Lol Japan 2006 = Schumi gets engine blow, Bahrain 2010 Vettel has mechanical issue, Korea 2010 Vettel has engine blow, Valencia 2012 Vettel AND Grosjean have alternator issues
+LegoTP Great, you mentioned races Alonso was clearly faster than his teammate, was probably the best driver on the grid and had worse cars than the people who retired. I could say that all of those wins by the other drivers were fluke wins because they had the best cars.
Bruh.... Its la Marseille (France Anthem). I know the first opening melody just like "Dari Sabang Sampai Merauke (Indonesia patriotic song)" but it's slightly different song
Alonso is one of the best F1 drivers in history. Fernando rarely wins by fluke.
Alonso is a joke who is overrated and was slower than Kimi during Kimi's best years, (03-07), slower than MSC and Hamilton.
@@ciaronsmith4995 He and Hamilton were equal in 2007, look at the points mate.
Il Papa Vitielo
Hamilton 2º
Alonso 3º

@Reverend RunBad Alonso lost to Trulli in 2004....now that's funny....what an overrated Sangachao....
Save this, in 2021 we are going to hear this again
Well yes, but actually no
We manage to atleast hear the French anthem again.
@@kalexisdominicbinarao3315 you were right :D
Save this , in 2026 we are going to hear this again more than 10 times
I watched Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso in the late 2000s, they were the best drivers in my opinion.
1st Fernando Alonso Renault
2nd Nick Heidfeld Williams
3rd Rubens Barrichello Ferrari
As a Spanish boy I can say that the French anthem is just wonderful
Fermado Alonso Renault❤
I'm a Schumi fan but it's nice to hear the Spanish and French anthems for a change in the years Alonso was in his prime.
Miss those times where Alonso had a competitive car 😢
Now he has one
And now even more competitive.

Raikkonen was the difference. Kimi was awesome from 03-07. Kimi was clearly the BEST driver. The car advantage was not clear when Montoya was there.
