At one point did Frank Zappa draw from Prince? The height of his career was in the 60s and 70s before prince released an album. He once said he admired Prince's work ethic, but that's about it.

Prince might have drawn from him, but not the other way around. Zappa could play the Black Page. I don't think Prince ever came close to writing or playing anything that intense.

I like watching your videos on Prince because it helps me get motivated to keep working on my music project. I get a little distracted and discouraged from all the drama going on in the world, but Lord willing I will keep pushing. I hope some of you all become a fan. It’s got some of the best songs he’s ever made and as for the hip hop style songs I like that he brought that type of funk to the album that new band he assembled was smokin hot ... diamonds and pearls to me is a lot better than pretty any album prince did after that one it’s pretty much his peak commercially apart from purple rain .... it was pretty much all killer with very little filler imo
He would’ve been the absolute GREATEST ever IF he was better to his staff (pay, credit, personal treatment), wasn’t an extreme womanizer, dealt with his childhood trauma properly, didn’t mess with underage girls. I was once disillusioned and thought he was such a good person all the way around.

Easily, his most lopsided album, imo. Half of it is great. The other half has some of the most dated, & horrible songs in his catalog.
