- In today’s video, I’ll be sharing more tips for the new food service drivers. There’s no such thing as the perfect trucking job. Find out what works best for you.
Definitely on point man. You're right about the no such thing as a "perfect job." People will waste most of their lives, looking for this fantasy land, no drama, no issues, career/job. Only to end up EVEN MORE frustrated and miserable. We all just have to do our own research, plan ahead, and get to the grind and make the best of it.

Well said👌🏾
You’re right about how there’s no perfect job. People need to reflect on the cons of their job and determine if the pros outweigh the cons. Even that is subjective from person to person.
I like how your scanner button can be held on to the whole time to scan cases!
Yeah, it’s nice to be able to just hold the button down without having to slowly scan each individual case.
My company services Chilis in my area and we always leave the bread outside of the freezer. They typically always order more than what can fit on the floor so ill have to up stack on the racks a little bit to fit everything.
Started my first day today at GFS Houston
How did you get hired there? I live in Houston and have been applying to every distribution center here, and no luck. The only place that called me was Labatt Food Service. I went in for the pallet test and passed it. I got my second interview, which I didn't like the pay at all, but I agreed on sense I have no experience. So they would bring me in as a student driver even though I got my CDL already going to school. And I have to sign a contract of one year that states that I can't leave or I will have to pay them a fine, sense they're supposed to pay for my CDL while I work there. I didn't get that part sense. I already got my CDL. I left the place, and the lady told me transportation should get in touch with me. Its been 2 weeks and they never reached out to me again. I sent the lady and email and all she responded back was "Your application is still pending on their part, hopefully you hear back from them soon" 😂 what? like why did I go there for 3 interviews for nothing. Hopefully, I get called from somewhere this week. Im getting frustrated
@@manuelportillo7935 i just kept applying lol .. Im not even joking when I tell you I applied for GFS 15 times , I applied for labatt so may times and they never even emailed me back lol😂
BIG FACTS! When it comes to any job but especially trucking, we need to look for fulfillment and not “perfect”. Instead of being overly concerned about the salary, need to ask other meaningful questions like what is the schedule? What is the morale of the company or how accessible is management when it comes to issues that can/will occur? We overlook big picture for a big salary. Dang you just inspired for a new video 😂😅
I agree. All good points 👌🏾
What up Ant! About a year ago Mclane offered me a driver job but I was gona have to take trainee pay for a while cause I had just got my class A (after 10 years with a class B.) I chose to got with a flatbed company cause I was gona learn how to handle the driving and get full pay from day 1. It’s been about a year and a half and I’ve learned a lot of ins and outs in local driving and how to navigate through NYC. A long-nose peterbilt with a spread-axle flatbed is not city friendly but getting it done. And now that I got some mileage I just called Mclane and US foods got in contact with me soon definitely going the food service path as soon as possible. So for everybody tryin to get to where they wana be just remember you gotta make wise decisions on your way there so you don’t mess up the journey. Thanks for being a MAJOR motivator amongst so many negative attitudes. God bless and wish me luck! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
What up my guy.. Sounds like you made the right decision. Appreciate you sharing your journey bro. Keep it up 👍🏾
Floor loaded trailers have to be a pain in the ass for the loader
It’s bad out here right now. Hardly any good local trucking jobs are hiring right now. I want to leave swift so bad. I’m otr and my last take home check was $560! I’m only here for the experience at this point. Once summer begins I’m sending out applications for anything even a class B job. I shouldn’t need a year experience. I got a year of yard hostling experience already and my backing skills are perfect.
$560 is disrespectful respectfully. There’s NO way any mega carrier or trucking company period should be paying drivers that low of a wage to drive a 53ft 80,000lb vehicle around the country. I hope you find something sooner rather than later bro. Smh
Try Ready Mix or Front Load Driver

No job behind a big truck that has you pressured on the "time factor" going to be a good game to play...for long.

Great video once again. These visuals 😮💨😮💨😮💨🦾

I’ve put an application in for Gordon, I currently work for swift OTR, I’ve completed my year contract with them, now it’s time to dip cuz OTR life and the pay is not it, thanks for the videos bless 🙏🏽

Just got home from a 11 stop day 😭830 case. had a DQ they normally get 200+ cases once a week
That’s a solid day 😅
Yeah, the customer I was referring to on my route normally gets over 200 twice a week. My first or second delivery to them they ordered 300 cases. I thought they screwed up the order but it was legit 😂
Very informative video bro salute 💯💪🏾 the instrumentals 🔥for the video also
Does GFS always have extra stock on trailer to accommodate such customers seeking after workday rendezvous at hotel parking to pickup additional restaurant stock? Does the after workday rendezvous put you back on duty clock wise and can mess up 10h break?
It’s not extra stock. It’s cases that already belong to the customer from what they originally ordered. Sometimes this particular customer maybe running low on some product and need a few items to make it through the day rather than waiting until I make their delivery the next day. I always let the customer know when I arrive at the hotel so they can meet me there. I’m still on duty when they arrive prior to doing my post trip so it doesn’t screw up my time at all. The customer is only 5 min away from the hotel.
🔥🔥🔥
What’s up brother how’s Gordon? It looks more organized and put together than a lot of other companies.
What up bro. GFS is a good company. I recently converted back over to a floor loaded trailer opposed to a palletized trailer and my loads have been much better. I’m 5 years in and there’s definitely pros & cons to this job like any other job but I can’t complain too much. I have a pretty good situation.
Good afternoon I came across your channel I really enjoyed it (new subscriber). i’m probably a year late asking this information but I see that you had some recruiters from Gemini transport on there, I might have missed it, but did you remember them saying what website you need to go to for a driving position thanks

How does PTO work with Gordan and what’s the discount on products like, as in food for the employees?
Hey ant, what's a chain delivery driver?
It’s just delivery drivers who deliver to primarily chain restaurants. For example IHOP, Applebees, Chili’s, KFC, etc.
@@imanthonytv 1 more question. Do you have any info on dispatch times for routes that come directly out of a distribution center?
@dawudsaifullah7507 Not exactly, but routes typically go out between 1am-4am give or take. Chain routes could potentially start a little earlier in some cases.
I'm going to purchase a 68" extension for my dolly but I'm also looking to buy a base platform as well. Is there a platform that doesn't bend so easily when you bump it in a corner?
Question I'm at sysco just started in training we routed 16 stop 14hrs everyday is that to much and never know where u going
You have a 70hr clock for the week. However, working 14hrs each day is something I couldn’t see myself signing up for but that’s just me.
Can I buy those hand truck online?

What equipment do you use for your content as far as recording your videos?

Does gordon pay by the hour ?
At some locations I believe they do but I’m on component pay.
Good evening bro do you know if Gordon foods hire in Baton Rouge Louisiana area
I’m not 100% sure bro. If I had to guess, my answer would be no. The reason I say that is because I used to go to Baton Rouge to make deliveries so if they had a yard there I wouldn’t have went. Secondly, there’s a few locations in the TX area that I know for a fact run several routes in and around the LA area. Just not certain if they run in Baton Rouge or not but it’s likely. You can go to gfs.com/careers to see if anything is in your area. Good luck
@@imanthonytv thanks bro
Bro what company is that
Does GFS offer relocation assistance?
Not sure
Could you make a video on CDL *Tyson Foods?*
Good video ATV peace
Hey Antony do you get paid hourly ?
I get what’s called component pay. I do have an hourly rate. However, pay is also based on total cases, total miles, & total stops. Each of those things has a pay rate.
