In fact Iruka is the one who doubts Naruto's abilities the most, he always believes that he lacks ability until Naruto shows him otherwise and makes him swallow his words.
@@Zesar42 That's true to an extent, I wouldn't say he doesn't believe in him but more so protecting him because of his own insecurities. That's a dad for ya
Also, I think Tsunade's understanding of Naruto's lashing out here, especially in spite of her own pain, is a really underrated and good part of her character. Sakura's instincts to tell Naruto that he's out of line are not wrong, but Tsunade knows that it won't achieve anything and lets it, and him, go. She knows, in time, it'll pass. I honestly think that Naruto and Tsunade's relationship is extremely underrated. I love how much she believes in him and cares for him, and in some episodes coming up you'll see it goes the other way too. She's an awesome mother figure for him, and her conversation with Jiraiya before he leaves the village about Naruto's parents is really cute and shows she was close to them too. Also, I love Tsunade's line in the English dub at 27:05. The VA sells it so well.
Tsunade an Naruto's relationship is my favorite in the show. She likes him more than anything, she truly believes in him. He's a reminder of her brother, her lover, but he is also her savior and her hope. He healed her from her inner demons and pain. And she roots for him more than anyone -which is seen even more later in the story-. She's his number 1 support. She would give up everything for him. Naruto sees her with utter respect, she's his motherlike figure, his big sister. Naruto lashed at her because his pain needed a target. She suffered, she knows how he felt. She lashed at Sarutobi for dying while she loved her teacher. She knows its not what he feels, its his pain talking.

It's entirely possible I'm overanalysing it, but I find it interesting that in this arc, both Naruto and Sasuke experience devastating loss, and cry about it. But the way each is drawn is so immensely different. Sasuke's face is so scrunched up in turmoil and emotion, and sure enough once he stops crying it morphs *immediately* back into anger, into action, because in a way his loss has given him a new goal to achieve. Naruto, meanwhile... looks dead inside. Depressed. Like he feels nothing. He feels like he *lost* a goal, as he says to Iruka that he wanted Jiraiya to watch him become a great ninja and eventually a great hokage, but now that can never happen. And unlike Sasuke, he slumps into a depression where he can't do anything. He has no drive left, whereas Sasuke's is just reinvigorated if not even increased. They're similar levels of grief and pain, but expressed completely differently.

Sasuke left the Leaf with ONE goal. Kill Itachi. Naruto is right to assume that Sasuke has NO reason to attack the leaf. He doesn’t have the information we as the audience have about the dark side of the Leaf Village.
This was the first real loss Naruto felt, when he lost his parents he was a baby, he didn't experience the feeling, he never experienced the loss of a partner on a mission, so the blow of losing his mentor was strong, luckily Shikamaru was there to give him stability (something his own teammates didn't do)

I honestly felt sadder about Tsunade's sadness than Naruto's. I know Jiraiya was Naruto's father figure, but he was also Tsunade's friend for nearly all her life. He was her confidante, and, no matter how much she rejected him, the only person she could entrust her heart to. Tsunade let Naruto blow his anger at her because she knows he will understand in time and that Naruto has friends and mentors who will help him through it, but Tsunade has no one. Everyone important in her life at that point was gone after Jiraiya's death. But she was a Hokage, and she knew that more than anything, she has to be a leader first. When finally managing to let her grief out, she had no one to lean on. No friends, no family. Just the cold wall of her office.
Nahhh you nuts, let me get this real quick, Im a male and Im heterosexual and I have a friend male who is heterosexual, we are both at the same age, and we have "only" 13yrs of friendship, and I swear to god that I would give him some of my organs for transplant, made some debts or whatever he needs EVER, he is my best friend and I love him really much, in no way in HELL if he said something like "man, I think I can take the fbi alone" I would let him go as is. What Tsunade did was a spit on the face of us, CANT you see what naruto DO ALL THE TIME for sasuke, I hate how far he goes but to be fair its one of his best friends so I can see why, and dont come with the crap of "its for the better of the village" cayse just like naruto said, he would find a way. Tsunade has some superb "tools" like Team3, kakashi, Anbu and so on. I know Jiraya was stubborn just like Naruto, but she could even threat him with her powers as hokage. I dont know, I can see so many ways she could stop or at LEAST make him accept some help. To me, he was not that much of a friend to her, or at least not as a "narutoxsasuke" level.
30:20 I saw them together. After all, Jiraiya was a mentor for Kakashi and guided him at the right time. I remembered the words Jiraiya said to Kakashi. "You know, people must talk to each other. At least a little. Otherwise, their hearts become covered with darkness. By talking with people, you gain bonds, and thanks to this you do not regret that you live in this world." Jiraiya truly guided many. This is incredible.
13:00 that EXACT line is something I have put up inside my office cubicle. Most of my posters/quotes inside my cubicle are from Madara, Pain etc. and trust me, people find all of those very existential.
8:24 Remember Naruto is ignorant of the history of what Itachi did and Sasuke now knows. That is why Naruto asked why would Sasuke attack the Leaf is simply because Naruto doesn't know Itachi's sacrifice. If he did he wouldn't have asked that question.
Yeah like she said , it took her a bit of time to catch up to these arcs, and she prob forgotten some important plot points from certain characters perspective, can’t really blame her especially since we all know how much of a roller coaster of emotions the Naruto series is.😊
Jaay what a treat. So sorry about your Twitch problems but you made my day with this upload. I'm a new viewer but your audience won't go away because Twitch is being difficult I'm sure. : )
I think the worst part of this is that the way Naruto reacted and the things he said were already thoughts in Tsunade’s head. It is criminal that since she came back to the village she was seeing Jiraiya in a new light, for who he is, for who he has always been really. She finally seemed like she was going to tell Jiraiya how she feels and classic Jiraiya fashion he just laughed it off. I still think of what it would’ve been like to watch them grow old together and watch Naruto inspire the next generation. 😢
I dont think many people realize how significant crying is for Naruto. Remember Kakashi saying to Inari (first arc kid) something along the lines of "even though Naruto didnt know any of his parents or have any friends but he has never seen him sulk, cry or give up ...my guess is he just got tired of crying and decided to do something about it
30:18 Jiraiya: “106 centimeters.” I love how he says it so seriously! lol. Too good. Thank you Tsunade for creating Kakashi’s memory. Shikamaru is another GOAT. Cheering up Naruto was a peak moment as well.
This, he never grew up with a family or had any close friends when he was a child the most exposure he would have gotten was random people on the street.
So yeah.. Sasuke is crashing out here.. but I still stand by this: he's 100% right in his assessment. He's right that what Itachi wanted isn't actually relevant. He's right to think that putting Itachi over the village doesn't mean that he has to abide by what Itachi wanted. What Sasuke is enduring because of his love for his brother is an added element to this, that makes it so that he can react how he feels is right. Sasuke is also 100% correct that the peace, prosperity and general joy that people in the Leaf get to feel is built on the backs of the Uchiha massacre, and the torture Konoha put Itachi through. They live lives of peace and joy, because Itachi lived a life of lies and torture, and the Uchiha no longer get to live at all.. and it all came from generations of persecution leading to a reaction from the Uchiha that Konoha didn't like. It's hard to look at the Uchiha story (or the Pain story) in 2024 and not see real-world parallels on how the powerful get to trample on and subjugate people, rewrite narratives, and somehow come out as the good guys, when they laid all the groundwork for terrible shit to happen, and play victim when some shit comes back around on them.
It’s always funny to me how people make the ‘surprised pikachu face’ when we see Sasuke’s new goal at this point in the story. Tobi deliberately told him Itachi’s truth in the way to paint the Leaf village as oppressors who discriminated against and profited off the Uchiha’s persecution, and then forced the person he loved most (Itachi) to slaughter them all and take the fall for it. Of course he isn’t going to just head right back to the village with open arms. Tobi stepped in and took advantage of a traumatized, confused Sasuke, and gave him a new target for all his anger and frustration. That’s the tragedy of the whole situation.
Flexie, did you notice that itachi knowing that he's being watch so he put both naruto and saskue in a genjuitus to pass info to them. He wants to inquire what Naruto's personality is to see if he can trust him and to pass info on the mango to sasuke.
Sasuke saying that itachi means more than village has nothing to do with itachis wishes, u said urself Sasuke has his own personal reasons yeah lmao that’s the point itachi being forced to kill the clan is y Sasuke doesn’t care about anything but destroying the village as he should
The goddamn popsicles man… every time 😭😭😭 If I was to get a tattoo it would either be of the popsicle and/or the shogi piece for king. Losing someone is difficult, and the way both Naruto and Shikamaru dealt with their grief was the same way I did when my friend passed away and then on the anniversary of their passing respectively. So both Naruto and Shikamaru’s moments will always mean a lot to me.

32:34 Yeah, I’ve been there before… I remember when my Ninja Sensei died during his top secret mission. All I could do to cope was purchase popsicles late at night, and cry at the nearest public bench. It’s a ninja thing I suppose.
i feel like he's blaming her for being Hokage and giving the order, but also blaming himself that he wasn't strong enough to be Hokage yet. that's what he means by they should have never left her in charge. it's actually brutally true.

@@InMaTeofDeath I freely invite you to reread the manga and count the number of times that Naruto tells Sasuke that revenge is wrong, let alone anyone else. You will be surprised at the big fat zero you wind up with. Naruto is on Sasuke's ass for *abandoning his friends,* not for taking revenge.
@@jeremiahmiller6431 We're watching the anime here silly goose not reading the manga. If you prefer the manga over the anime for those reasons you're welcome to that perspective but I was never talking about the manga so using it to make a point doesn't make much sense.
Most of my posters/quotes inside my cubicle are from Madara, Pain etc. and trust me, people find all of those very existential.
now naruto knows what it feels like loosing a parent , probably learned a little about sasuke pain
I like how Itachi smiles when Naruto tells him that he sees Sasuke more of a brother than Itachi ever did
Aghhh man! Early summer ost is a heart wrenching ost. It only belongs to our Jiraiya and Naruto. 😭💔
12:15 everything Sasuke says here is a twisted extreme version of Kakashi’s bell test lesson
8:24 Remember Naruto is ignorant of the history of what Itachi did and Sasuke now knows. That is why Naruto asked why would Sasuke attack the Leaf is simply because Naruto doesn't know Itachi's sacrifice. If he did he wouldn't have asked that question.
It's seems like people are not realizing that we're seeing Sasuke's descent into madness from his perspective as an audience, and not Naruto's.
Love your reaction
New subscribers btw❤
Aah thank you! welcome to my community! x
even after re watching this series, i dont know how many times, some of the backstories always make me cry
Youre good Flexie! Been watching your Naruto journey for awhile now and you are good at predicting things. Keep up the good work.
Remember Kakashi saying to Inari (first arc kid) something along the lines of
"even though Naruto didnt know any of his parents or have any friends but he has never seen him sulk, cry or give up ...my guess is he just got tired of crying and decided to do something about it
13:00
And they told me that Naruto is just a kid's show. Nope. That line was simply a slice of life.
1 minute ago is CRAZY!!!
30:18
Jiraiya: “106 centimeters.”
I love how he says it so seriously! lol.
Too good. Thank you Tsunade for creating Kakashi’s memory.
Shikamaru is another GOAT. Cheering up Naruto was a peak moment as well.
The 106 number is legendary. It was really nice seeing Iruka comforting Naruto during such a dark moment in his life.
Worth remembering, for what is all happening, that Naruto is only about 15-16 years old in Shippuden....they're all just kids.
Oh man, i remember this eps, and feel sad in the same way, it's sad. I love this anime.
Naruto grew up orphan. He was not told about the Birds and the Bees with any specificity. That's why "Pregnant" was not the first thing in his mind
This, he never grew up with a family or had any close friends when he was a child the most exposure he would have gotten was random people on the street.
13:00 one of madaras best lines.
The only time Tsunade wins a bet.
Exactly. We as the audience aren’t MEANT to agree with Sasuke’s line of thinking completely, but still understand where he’s coming from.
Love your voice your energy and your reaction❤
Flexie be like : I'M STRONG !!!!
FAMOUS LAST WORDS !!!! 😭
Flexie, did you notice that itachi knowing that he's being watch so he put both naruto and saskue in a genjuitus to pass info to them. He wants to inquire what Naruto's personality is to see if he can trust him and to pass info on the mango to sasuke.
Sasuke saying that itachi means more than village has nothing to do with itachis wishes, u said urself Sasuke has his own personal reasons yeah lmao that’s the point itachi being forced to kill the clan is y Sasuke doesn’t care about anything but destroying the village as he should
The goddamn popsicles man… every time 😭😭😭
If I was to get a tattoo it would either be of the popsicle and/or the shogi piece for king. Losing someone is difficult, and the way both Naruto and Shikamaru dealt with their grief was the same way I did when my friend passed away and then on the anniversary of their passing respectively. So both Naruto and Shikamaru’s moments will always mean a lot to me.
hope you are doing better flexie , hopefully things get better !
Absolute PEAK arc incoming 🔥
After all these years, it's Iruka's words that made me almost shed tears
I love the therapy session before you start... Prepare you for the episode
DAMN THE ENDING, AZU FOR YOU ?
havent listended to it since naruto shippuden 1st aired.. well on not legal website when i was young XD
thank you for a flashback ^^
Wow "Orochimaru should have done it right then" is WILD X'D Ty for the reaction
35:30 In this frame, Naruto was drawn as beautifully as he had ever been drawn anywhere else. Ehhh...if only Naruto would always be drawn like this. No one could compare with him.
I just found your channel like 2 weeks ago and I've wating for this moment next arc is the best one enjoy 😊
32:34 Yeah, I’ve been there before… I remember when my Ninja Sensei died during his top secret mission. All I could do to cope was purchase popsicles late at night, and cry at the nearest public bench. It’s a ninja thing I suppose.
Thus begin one of the most iconic arc in Naruto Shippuden
shikamaru is the real best friend of naruto
The talk no jutsu and siting on a swing Shippuden 😂 when you know you know 😂
... great anime, thanks very much Lady for video ...
Iruka sensei is a really good guy.
i like you when u using black nailart ❤
i feel like he's blaming her for being Hokage and giving the order, but also blaming himself that he wasn't strong enough to be Hokage yet. that's what he means by they should have never left her in charge. it's actually brutally true.
Iruka made Naruto realize he still has someone.
Shikamaru made him realize he still has a purpose to keep going (since not finding Sasuke again really messed him up)
YOU WILL KNOW PAIN "forshadowing"
I dreaded the day you watch this because I've physically converted to a puddle again
I’m sorry about your twitch account. The first stream that I watched of yours was when we watched Lost Tower. I found you and mainly watched you on RUclips with your JJK and Solo Leveling Reactions 🙏🏻🫡
@FlexiejayAnime .... every time you say pain, i think of Three Days Grace - Pain ....LOL
This episode is a good comparison between Naruto and sasuke. Naruto had people help him with his grief and sasuke never did.
Yep; Naruto has supportive people surrounding him, while Sasuke has nothing but people that want to manipulate him for their own ends.
19:00 it's the pervy Sage have been the fifth hokage he wouldn't let granny tsunade take a risk like that...... Never!😢😢😢😢😢😢
Never thought a popsicle would make me sob my eyes out
Sniff 🥲
Thx for the reaction
Hopefully the Twitch stuff gets resolved, and I say resolved not fixed being a bit pessimistic. I tuned in into your streams from time to time but it quickly caught up to the uploads on RUclips but it's still cool that you were able to stream and react at the same time, which makes it a much more engaging reaction.
I wasn't ready to be crying this early ya know
I can't picture myself losing the mentor that meant so much to me😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Already watched the livestream… but who am I kidding let’s run it again
Shikamaru stays best boy
Feel pain Accept pain know pain ❤
Eps 157 is so close
So I didn't realize this until someone mentioned it to me. Jiraiya and Itachi both died on the same day in the Naruto universe.
Oh we cryin today, huh? Word
oh yeah, the pain of losing sensei...
Flexie, we feel really bad about your Twitch situation. Hope it reaches Twitch Support and gets sorted out as quickly as possible. Let's keep making noise!
(Also, this may be a good time to explore alternatives like Kick and Rumble.)
I am not crying somebody is chopping onions near me😢😂
