Persephone reminds me of Zuko, which makes me think back on Uncle Iroh’s famous line: “It's time for you to look inward and start asking yourself the big question: who are you and what do YOU want?”
I don’t know if you missed this or just didn’t mention it intentionally, but there are clearly two “Persephones”. One that is Kore, and one that appears in her reflection with red eyes and sometimes takes control of her body when she’s stressed or in intense situations. The other her is likely a manifestation of repressed parts of her personality breaking free to allow her to stand up for herself and fight back against those who seek to control her, like her mother, Apollo, even perhaps Hestia. This surfacing or birth of this “other her” is likely why her name changed from “Maiden” to “Bringer of Death”. My theory: All of her repressed emotions like cane out in one vital showdown with her mother that unfortunately cost the lives of every mortal in her vicinity. That’s just my theory on her secret. But there are definitely two Persephones. They are both part of the same person, but they are also different. If you read it again you can see them. I believe the voice outside the greenhouse is the other Persephone, it’s that other side of her pushing her to get where she actually wants to be.
Indeed. Also, what I like the most is that the author has not done the typical “I have a dark part, something demonic super edgy and blah blah”. That "dark part" is a representation of her ambitions, of her repressed feelings for hrs own mother and for the sacred virgins: her anger, her sadness ... It's that part that says "hey, you don't want to be this, you want to be more than Demeter's daughter, than a sacred virgin".
I don't know if you've read the most the recent episodes, but let's just say that there's a reason why she has the rage inside of her, and it's not because she's "oppressed"
With the way Persephone has her occasionally evil spells, it's awesome, seeing the cute, warm, and cuddly girl turn into an evil, cold, and prickly woman is stellar.
Man the way you explain it it’s thanks to that choice and a little friendly help from arrows it has sent her on her path to turn from a Shy girl to a queen and it is that path that will give her the respect she deserves
This series is pretty fun to watch.I downloaded WEBTOON not too long ago and already caught up on Lore Olympus and Unordinary.I hope to see more content from you in the near future. 😁
I just found your channel and love these anaylsis. It would be cool if you explored Hera and Ares. The two keep appearing and they add alot to Lore Olympus. Especially Hera's relationship with Zeus, Hebe and Hades. Thetis and Thanatos are wierd characters who alignment are not clear.
Thetis is a bitch who's just trying to sleep with Zeus, she's also trying to ruin the guy's relationship with his own family, even Minthe says that she isn't her friend. I hope she gets what's coming to her. Thanatos seems to be an ok guy, he checks up on Minthe once or twice to see how she's doing, he seems to be neutral, but a few degrees on the good side, along with Minthe, Thetis is on the other side, she's neutral, but a bad neutral.
Interestingly enough Kore means Maiden while Persephone means bringer of death. Before, people were literally just calling her “Lady Maiden” as if she were insignificant and belonging to her mother.
I did some research and i found out that Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. That makes Hades her uncle. Kind of messed up because her and Hades are now dating. I think.
In this series the Gods are sons of Rhea, and the Goddesses are daughters of Metis, or at least Hera is her daughter... well, at least that shows Zeus and Demeter aren’t siblings.
