Russian athlete failing a drug test. Anyone surprised?
Are Maradona and Hingis russians?:)
NYET
@user-iz3gv5vo6b you'd be shocked at how rampant substance abuse is amongst players and how many have gone through the player assistance program. It's a big problem that spans all nationalities. Just this season alone you have Ethan Bear, Patrik Laine, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Samuel Girard to go along with Nichushkin. When you come back from that program, regular drug testing is required. Carey Price another big name who through it.
@@smnvfdrdo they play hockey?
@@klauskarlkraus he said "athletes", not hockey players
Jets fan. This is disgusting. How about a rematch with the Jets and the Avs players are not allowed to be juiced???
Lmao it's not a performance enhancing drug
I'm pretty sure we still win that rematch 💁♂️
My best guess: the coach, staff doctors and admin has to be aware of this. Should violation of this rule then disqualify the team from further participation in the playoffs? Should they lose draft picks? There has to be a penalty ther than six months in the player’s assistance ‘club’
Addicts can be quite clever and creative in hiding their substance use. Can you fool people forever? Of course not, but it’s possible over shorter periods….especially as most people want to see the person succeed.
What is this rule? Do you have cognitive impairments?
Meanwhile, players like Tom Wilson, Brad Marchand, Carson Soucy, etc, indulge in dodgy behavior that could end another players career, yet they're still on the ice.
Russian athletes failing a drug test, for them its systematic, do not be naive.
Alcohol..? Recreational drug use? How's that any of the NHL's damn business?
He signed a contract
He's a professional athlete
@tonyzuco6144 he's in the player assistance program, he missed a ton of time this year WITH pay because of it. The NHL player assistance program will help you with pay, but when you return to work from it there are terms that go along with it. Regular drug testing is required, if you fail then that is a violation of the terms you agreed to and there are repercussions. He was well aware of this.
Tony i dont think you know how contracts work. Its their business if a contract is violated. Since there is so much money on the line, you have to put these things into contracts so the players stay on the top of their game. you dont want them to become alcoholics etc.
Employers have rules that employees have to adhere too…. this ain’t no landscaping business.
It's bad enough the actual health care system doesn't know anything about drug abuse and why it's a thing but professional sports shouldn't be labeling their players as drug addicts either...
