Dressed up lots of times as a Victorian kitchen maid when i went on school trips to Shugborough Hall. They let the children do washing in the Laundry room, and make biscuits in the big kitchen. Very interesting place and worth a visit.🙂
We really enjoyed it Gill. Lots of open space, sheep and cows on the working farm and two cafes too 😃 That with the historic buildings to look around made it a perfect day out 👍🏻 Trev
Good that you can take the dogs all around the gardens. Looks like a nice day out. We love looking round these NT places, the mansion reminds me a bit of Blenheim. Thanks for sharing.
Haha the dog yelping got Darbi all concerned. Ears were all perked and head was turning. She couldn't quite figure that one out lol. What an amazing place to visit. Awesome antiques, but the building is always what I love to see. The architecture inside and out. What a fun place to stop and visit!
It was a lovely day out. The gambling den was quite a surprise. When I spoke to one of the guides, I said it must have been hard work being a servant. His reply was that it was a luxury lifestyle compared with working down the mines 🤷🏼♂️ I didn’t think of that 🤨 Thanks for watching 😃 Trev
The estate is huge and it wasn’t particularly busy when we were there. There is a childrens play area which I didn’t film and some more monuments too. We definitely could have been there for the whole day 😃 Trev
Thank you both for an excellent look about. 💕 I love homes like these that are lovingly looked after for us too look about. This one is stunning! The gardens look beautiful too! Beautiful 💕
It’s a lovely day out and really surprised us with plenty to see and we walked 8000 steps with very little effort. Thanks for your comments 😃👍🏻 Trev n Sue
Hi Trev and Sue, Shugborough grounds look a lovely place to visit for a day out, there’s so much to see. The mansion was lovely, think I would like one of those lawn mowers Sue x
We didn’t know about this place but so glad we were told about it. The gardens are dog friendly and one of the cafes is too. Both cafes have pet friendly outside seating. We had a lovely day there even though it rained for a little while 😃 Trev
Catching up having been away Trev. Wow, what a place. Looks like you needed a whole day to explore the estate. A good overview of everything that is available. Nice one. Martin
Thanks Martin, it’s not been with the National Trust for long and is still under restoration but very interesting to see the servants quarters and how they used to live 🙂 Trev
Catching up. Looks a very interesting place and very big. I don't know about Coral, but I think I would need one of those electric buggies. Thanks for sharing. 👍Mark & Coral
That place is amazing! It reminds me of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. I enjoy seeing the cookware and other original items, like furniture and decorations. Excellent video!👍😊💕
@@PoshcatsCamping Hi both, thanks for the mention ! Hope you enjoyed your visit. Pity the weather wasn’t up to much. Have a great trip. Mark and Karen.
@@marksmith668 we had a lovely time there. It didn’t really matter that it rained, we saw it when it was sunny and raining 😃 Glad you told us about it as it really made our stay at Cannock Chase complete. Thanks again 👍🏻🚐 Trev n Sue
Sue thought it was funny too. Sophie made a fuss walking past the farm too but I didn’t record that, we just quickly bypassed the sheep and cattle in the fields and kept well back from the fences… what a din she made 🤣 Trev
A really interesting video with lots of information. Hopefully we can get there because we’re NT members and there’s lots we can take the dogs to. Mind ours are a bit boisterous so outside might be best for us! 😁 Thanks for sharing.
It’s a huge estate Sylvia and there’s lots of pathways to walk. Dogs do have to be on leads but the gardens are lovely to walk around. There’s a working farm so the pigs, sheep and cattle are in some of the fields. It’s just a nice peaceful day out with interesting buildings and a bit of history. Within easy reach of Cannock Chase 😃 Trev
@@PoshcatsCamping I saw your rally at the end of July on FB. We’re doing our first trip to Norfolk and Suffolk in July but the middle two weeks! I’m going to see if we can make some changes so we’re still there for the rally but we’re currently in Salisbury and heading to the IOW on Monday before we go to our first ever rally HermanFest! I will email you as soon as I know we can make your rally 😁.

Certainly looks nice in the sunshine ☀️ we got caught in a downpour and went to the van to dry off 🤣 Lovely day out 👍🏻 Trev
@@PoshcatsCamping gotta admit we got a dry day, but bit windy - As we’ll share when we get round to editing our footage 🤣
Very beautiful country house and gardens. A very interesting place with such a huge old kitchen and other amazing things
Thank you. There is a lot of renovation going on so it may be possible to see more of the old mansion and farm house in future 😃 Trev
I love wind/water mills. They are so interesting and really clever use of natural power.
It was difficult to see the wheel on this one 😕 just heard the water rushing through 😃 Trev

Beautiful gardens indeed, Sophie was having none of that mower lol so cute. :o)
Haha yes she really didn’t like the mower or the cows 🐄 😃 Trev n Sue
I remember seeing those robot mowers at the countryfile summer event. All I need now is a lawn 😆
🤣🤣 Sophie prefers the hoover 😉 Trev
