Wow! Really well done. I hope Richard Dutcher comes around and makes more LDS-themed movies. I know he left the church, but he really understand the nuances of the culture so well, I don't think I've seen anyone else pull it off like he does.
Why no comments? This is a beautifully done and acted, well written film with many philosophical issue as well as religious vs. Spiritual. Thank you very much for sharing. I am excited about this.
I've been a huge fan of this movie since it came out. Although it's not the kind of movie that I normally watch, I consider this in my top 25 favorites of all times. It's just too bad that the audio was so badly out of sync. I guess I'll pull out my copy & rip & upload that in HD format, so others will be able to give this great movie a chance.
Sorry I had no idea it was out of sync at all. I only had it a a digital copy, that was several GBs to large for uploading. I tried to convert it, but apparently it didn't turn out well. I could have sworn I tested it first. :(
JLM1883 Hey, it could have been worse. In fact, I have seen worse. It's only off about 1 second or so. And this does happen when converting to a compressed format. Even still, it is an excellent movie. So, thanks for uploading it anyway.
First Last i think they discontinued because the producer/Actor in this movie hes playing the sheriff character, he left the church and he's been denaying everything he tought in one time was true
It wasn't a dubbed film. Whoever processed the video didn't sync up the audio & video. They most likely had an older slower computer, and this happens. Even still, it is a very good movie.
A Bishop and congregation refusing to partake of the Sacrament, and a Sheriff being kept on after hiring a murderer as a Deputy without having done a background check on him. If you think it could, you have rocks in your head.
A Bishop and congregation refusing to take Sacrament technically could happen, it just incredibly unlikely. All you need is for the Bishopric to refuse as it's offered to them first. But again it's would be incredibly unlikely to ever happen.
If the Bishop's counselors are following their calling as a counselor to the Bishop, they probably would be taking a deeper look at themselves when they see the Bishop refuse the Sacrament! And that said I think the whole congregation witnessing this would also be doing their own inventory! It appears that this Bishop was very loved by his congregation!

there is comments on someone else posted this film up so it's not just this version or person that post up
Best quote of the movie - Stu: “What we've got here is a little paradise. And nothing attracts a serpent like a paradise”
You don't realize how odd the sacrament is till you watch it on the silver screen. Not the symbolism. The little cups and trays
The sound is out of sync. Great movie.

I got so excited when I saw they have this movie on youtube, but was so disappointed when the voice is so off! does not match the acting :(

Nothing even looks like Brigham City. Weird they didnt even film it here.
The town is actually supposed to be fictional. Technically just "Brigham". Plus, a majority of it was filmed in Mapleton.
TwoStage 45 It was filmed in Mapleton, Utah.
Its mapleton ut. A beautiful place
what about subtitles? This is the only version available, and my mom doesn't understand english. plx
Sorry, but I can't help you there.
JLM1883 you can allow contribution for translations and let someone else make the subtitles. Just a tip =)
it is a little bit late (the sounds and talking) but it's fine good job
Music of preludie?
My sister was telling me about the worst she's ever seen and she said it was an LDS cop movie and I found it and boy, it's pretty bad lol
Good job Richard. Don't worry, I bought this movie once, years ago
The dubbing is so bad

A great "who done it"
Could never happen
What specifically are you saying could never happen?
