Anyone who drives a Hummer H2 for any purpose other than SERIOUS - I MEAN SERIOUS - hauling and/or other transport that absolutely needs a vehicle like that should be held accountable. M. King Hubbert was scoffed at in the 1950s when he said that by 1965-1970 the US would peak in its oil production. Sure enough, in 1970, US hit its peak.
"Interviews with scientists, economists, environmentalists and Greenpoliticians alternate with dramatisations following the life of greedystockbroker Paul. He has invested 90 per cent of his company's sharesin oil and watches with glee as the price of petrol skyrockets, untilhis professional and personal life are directly affected as adisastrous recession hits the oil-dependent world." end quoting.
@KhinShaider Lets say a solar panel 100watt cost $1000 you get 10 hours of sun per day, thats 1kw per day. If a Kw costs 20cents you get $1.40 of power a week. 52 weeks $72.80 per year. 13 years to pay for panel. not include installation wiring costs. costs of batteries or inverters etc. All this aside the components to make the panel were dug from the ground and transported by boat. and truck more energys used in the creation of the panel than the life of the panel will return?
@keithholden A barrel of oil cost $100 and produces 1.7mw of energy $1000 worth of oil woujld create 17megga watt. .. Solar panel life of 30 years would produce 1095kw if 10 hours sun per day which most people don't have.
As you say they re opened the fields because of the price, why did they do that? because we are using more oil, the price rises. Why are the Saudis looking in the ocean for oil if there fields refill? Why has USA oil production declined every decade since the 1970s when they are drilling in the gulf. Why are the stripper wells in Texas only producing 7bbd when in there peak it was over 100bpd. Its still a decline in production, peak oil.
@shempship Abiotic, if it was true how long to replenish.? Here in nz our oil production peaked in the year 2000 the same as Australia. When will we be back to pumping oil at the same levels. In 1000yrs? Over 50 countries have peaked. are we using it faster than its replensihing? If so then its still peak production. And what if your wrong and aboiotic is the have, then what?
For all I know you could be a trust fund baby. Internet= anonymity. I have not had everything handed to me on a platter, I was just saying being a white male automatically puts us a step ahead of everyone else. I have plenty of education (masters from University of Delaware, a top 25 college when I went there) and I thank my good luck for being born white. I definitely don't hate myself for it. Debating never works, each side just gets more entrenched in their own idea. Have a nice life.
I googled "2013 No More Oil" and it does seem to be an actual movie. Several .torrent files on the shows. Try d/ling them.
Welcome to Mad Max!
Thank you, America's rulers, for being myopic and greedy!

@shempship Total nonsense spread by head in the sands nutters. IF this was even remotely real we wouldn't need to drill NEW wells.
