Wow The Memories of Installing Heating & Air Conditioning.. and Fabricating the Sheet Metal. Great Video Steve.
Nice job Steve. I just finished up a church job today. 2 -100k BTU 92% Goodmans and 2 - 5 ton Goodman outside units. I have a few videos of it on my channel. Not a pro with the camera like you tho! Posting the clips of the finished work tomorrow.
Thank you Steve for explaining why you DON'T need a dedicated intake on this furnace, in this case. For me, there's a certain criteria that has to be met if i'm going to run an intake pipe. The only time i add an intake is if it's new construction, in a closet or in a tight space with a gas HWH.
Smooth shiny aluminum tape always makes the finished tin work look super sexy!
Respect from Philly Mr. Lavimoniere. I discovered and subbed to your channel while researching, what a professional furnace replacement job should look like. I appreciate you for your professionalism, detailed visual and verbal explanations. Thank you!! P.S. I always give your videos a thumbs up!!
Man that flue vent pipe looks beautiful, Steve. The gas pipe does as well. Very clean, professional install as always!
WOW Steve. You are good. Another great job and we need people/technicians like you here in Michigan....
thank you steven for these videos you make up a great jobs the way the shortcuts for doing it make me happy for chosing be a hvac technicien be safe
Wow an XL90! Those heat exchangers were made good and it shows no cracks after almost 30 years. And the vertical SS condensing coil was innovative because it drained straight down, to force any acidic condensate into the plastic drain pan, preventing coil corrosion. If you replaced the burners it would likely have been just fine. Hard to stop a Trane, especially these older ones.
Nice install Steve. That lady was smart to hire you! She got a good unit properly installed.
Another quality job Steve! I love watching your vids, I learn so much from you! Thanks Steve!!
my classroom has one of those furnaces to learn off of. it is missing the p trap inside and the induve draft is making a racket but it works. nice job stevo
That is a great install. Perfect basement for a video, and awesome tip for the front pan bending the s cleat out. I think im going to get a grinder. Right now i use a step drill bit and electric shears, but i think your way is quicker and straighter cutting for the return
steve, i allway like the the way you do things.thank for always being so honest and careing in your vidios.
She is so cute. Love the water heater!
holy crap that relic of a water heater should be in the museum lol
Watching Steve work yet again.....give it the ole gundy
Steves a money making man, mama. Next level.
Great job steve.i gotta find that cross break you're using.
You can still use PVC for vent pipe in MA?
Steve, that new vent to the outside where its got a 45 degree elbow. Do you need to put some sort of screen to prevent birds, etc from entering it and blocking the gases. I know here in N.J. even the dryer vents, birds will make a home in the duct work in all seasons to keep warm and to build nests. We put bird cages over our vents to prevent it.
Steven lavimonier I like your utube videos
you got to love critics, its more important for the plentum to align, the return is my 2nd construction, in the case of this job if the customer was younger i woulb have offered a cased coil so it is a/c ready down the road depending upon budget that a lot of work for one man the return looks fine i seen oil companies install to base ment an add a floor grate this is heat only good job steve
Its for an apartment
Steve why dont you use turboshear to do your cut outs?
Baby dog protector of the best service truck in Boston.
its a Amerca Standard 90+ furnace by Trane, its hard to stop a Trane after all the years till the burners rotted out. kinda of a strange inducer motor setup on it unlike today's 90+ furnaces. at least you got the exhaust pipe neatened up on it could of put an intake pipe on it would keep the intake noise to a minimum. didn't you do a combustion test on it to make sure the furnace is safe for the lady?
Steve for your Intake if you are going to one pipe it you should add a foot and a half of PVC Vertically and 2 90's, so its pointing down inside to avoid dust, nice install though
Agreed. That intake made me cringe. Otherwise a great install.
So you can't work in Rhode Island? That's actually a violation of the Interstate Commerce Clause. No state can legally deny products or services from another. If laws like that exist, it's only because of corruption -- doesn't matter whether it's regulations.
Why do you always remove the fan on new installs ?
When do you recommend having a vibration reducer in the plenum ?
some new jobs it might be in the specks ..to be added .i never install them on a replacement job
nice job Steve, thanks for posting
Good job. Did you do a combustion test?
YOU FINALLY MADE A GOOF. never see you make a mistake. YOU DROPPED THE SCREWS. you really need a blooper reel Steve
13:56 Doug????? 😂😂
Great job Steve
Good looking job !! Not that many of us left that field fab sheet metal like that these days... the install practices on that job should last another 30 years or more... even better than what you took out. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Its always a guy named Doug. Wanting ya to do something illegal 🤣🚽💯
Hey steve. I know the way u do it is conviene on the go but not look good. Would u do a video that use pre made plenum and canvas.
How could a 18 gallon water heater even fill a tub. Did the old cast iron heaters transfer heat faster?
terrific job mama !!!👍👌
Good metal workmanship Steve. I like the 85 Gas furn or boiler even better. Less things to go bad.
Totally forgot you have Tin Knocking skills in your arsenal!
I'd be all cut to shit doing that!
That cross brake bend you did, is that to keep the ductwork quieter? I mean so it doesn't vibrate when air is blowing through?
Jim EC The bend will act to strengthen and quiet it -ding ding ding -you nailed it!
TheOregonOutlaw Thanks! Makes sense anyway. He does really nice work. If he wasn't an hour away from where I live, he'd definitely be my oil burner guy.
Good job Steve!
6 months to change a cheap 1" filter? I change mine every month.
Always cut away from the sparks brotha. Gonna bind that thing up on heavier metal, also it's safer.
Lyle Diamond ill wear a welder helmet grinder mode.
When you drill a hole in the flue what do you use to plug the hole??? Thank you.
Tru Tech tools has 3/8 metal plugs for metal b- vent and I'm pretty sure they have plugs for PVC pipe on their website as well.
Do you think that the secondary heat ex is plugged up a lil. That might be why your readings were outta wack.
given it" the Ol Gundy with the grinder. how well would it cut pvc pipe? 2 or 3 inch
Not well - PVC melts from the abrasive wheel. Saw cuts don't leave melted edges.
A fine job Steve
Good work Steve!
I’m not a super installer but sometimes I wish I could have someone record me or the guys I work with..... love the videos though
Does she not have Central air Steve I didn’t see an A coil or anything
Love the 4 sided field fabricated duct. What is that breaking tool your using. Never seen one before. Sure beats using a 2x4 to x break.
ruclips.net/video/0uiesLymPp0/видео.html
Don't you have to have 2 pvc pipes one for exhaust and one for intake?
Steve briefly talked about that. If it was a newer, tightly sealed house it would need an outside air intake pipe. However, if the manufacturer's instructions allow it, you can use indoor air for combustion in a drafty old house.
love the pink coat for the dog steve does she have a name ?
Do you have an inspector from the state coming in behind you on new installs?
very nice jpb
Did you make that metal bender yourself ? Good idea. I've got some windows to re-wrap with aluminum.
How old was that 18 gal water heater? It looked cool.
Thanks. I was born in 1952 and I am sure that water heater will outlast me for sure.
You don't have stainless steel tanks??
The chrome control knobs look awesome. Like something you would see on a car from that era.
Steve steady putting in them ruuds
Doug said CLICK☎☎☎☎☎😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
good job ,steve
Came out nice Steve lav
Nice duct fab, and furnace change-out. Steve Lav.
Steve nice work, what type of mastic take is that? Do have have a model number?
its ideal 3000 mastic tape ,new product not on the market yet . i got it from a sales man from ideal .there from my state ..very good stuff very strong .i am going to do a video about it .
Mastic tape has been on the market for many years, maybe not the Ideal brand but Shurtape and Nashua have been making it for over a decade. Maybe it's just now getting to your state, but NC has had it for years now. We don't use that silver tape shit y'all use at all around here. Also, nothing beats the buckets of mastic, it's way better than mastic tape. It might be messier, but you can't beat it. No offense Steve, I think you're an amazing plumber and service tech.
2" x 100 ft roll of Mastic Tape about $23.50 at RE MIchel Co.
timothy striff Thanks, Timothy
Thanks guys!!!! Thanks Steve keep up the good work....
Power LEAVING the board at the neutral...
where did you get that bender?
Amazon
Nice job! Your a lot better at sheet metal than me!
Clock keeps ticking, working man takes a licking.
There's not a chance in Hell we could get away with our change outs looking like that....
I would do new plenum and buffalo boot return and line up stack on return
this is apartments it is fine I would just wrap it with the bubble wrap insulation
What's with the 3 gas meters?
three apartments or 2 apartments and a common one for hot water
where are the gloves?
Not sure about so much grinder cutting on furnace
They say Doug never got job done he was wanting poor Doug.
Nice job!!!!
Nice job steve ! Did you see a date on that old ass water heater?
Shout out please, Thank you
Your customer got some good service life out of the old furnace.
no gloves
That tape job looks like shit!...if i paid thousands i'd be furious!
Why do you guys call Z- bar S - lock crazy people up north
Myron Smith We call them ‘s-cleats’ around my part
Too much tape
