They should just expand the court to 13 justices so no single presidential administration can create a super majority. It used to be one justice for every US district court until the Judiciary Act of 1869 which arbitrarily fixed it to 9 justices. Mind you this was back when the US population was 1/10th the number it is now: 38,558,371 in 1870 vs 345,785,329 today. People deserve a court that is proportional to their needs which in it's current state far outstrips the capacity of 9 justices to make sound decisions based on the law, not to the presidential administration which nominated them.

I believe democratic senators have referred Thomas to the DOJ. It could take anywhere from 2 to 4 years before anything is accomplished in the Thomas situation. I'm just guessing of course. Thank you for explaining the reason why delaying Trump's sentencing hearing could in some way be a good thing - even though most of us wish he had just been sentenced back in July!! I do think that all these delays and political manoeuvres are so time-wasting and are causing such a lot of expense which could surely have gone to better causes.
In the UK nobody would touch a convicted felon with a bargepole in political circles - and if they tried to put themselves forward for office they would not be given the chance. Even if there was just a hint that somebody in office is a suspect in a sexual assault or other case they would be obliged to resign (they could always come back later if their names were subsequently cleared), to avoid bringing disrepute to their party - as the Party is more important than the politician. Why couldn't the Republicans have found somebody better than a rambling, misogynistic, narcissistic, racist sex offender to head their party as their representative - and a much better sidekick than somebody who thinks that people who don't have children shouldn't run the country - or even teach children!! - and that women should just stay at home and make babies, whether or not they actually want them or can even afford to raise them.
These are very dark days for America - if only the Trump supporters could see him properly, for what he really is. Please don't let Trump back in, America - nor his sidekick - the rest of the world doesn't want another 4 years of Trump nonsense. It would just mean another 4 years of embarrassment for your country - and Trump would be even more dangerous a second time around as his only focus is on himself.

I'm not too disappointed for a few reasons.
He would not actually go to prison before the election, because of appeals etc.
A sentencing now, would give him huge press coverage, taking away from Harris.
It takes away something else to grift off.
But when he loses, he will face justice....bigly.
