I love all of your play-through builds, but your tutorials are next level. You teach us noobs with such well thought out step by step instructions, as well as with humour and humility. You truly make me believe I can do it, even when the evidence in my cities shows I still have a long way to go. I'm learning, and enjoying the process. Thank you.
Maybe this was obvious to other console players, but I literally found out two days ago that the PC equivalent of page up / page down for very minor changes in height for your roads & paths is in the Snapping Options menu. I was trying to create intersections without that before and it was such a pain. My elevated curves look so much better now. Like I said, maybe that was super obvious to everyone else, but just in case there is one other person out there…
Talented cities builder. Awesome detailer. Skilled RUclipsr. And a comedian, too! Loved the bit with "your interview" about building interchanges. Yeah, breaking into tears is me, too. Fingers crossed. I'm sure it will work out in the end (and I'm lightly modded so move it will come to the rescue if need be!)
Loving this series! I've tried to follow along a few times and end up scrapping my city, but I'm trying hard to stick to it this time, following along step by step...having crazy traffic issues though and not sure what I've done wrong. Might just be a difference in population since I'm playing at regular speed so I have a couple thousand more cims...hoping it'll work itself out if I keep going and make it to the forestry episode/until the generic industry gets redone :) either way I'm loving how my city's turned out and how fun it's been to slow down instead of chasing milestone after milestone.
Well, what can be said, that hasn't been said yet? Another masterclass of a noob helping build. Thank you! I real also love how the C:S community helps out each other with the mentions of imperatur and Biffa. I saw imperatur adding some memes to his videos, now you were inspired as well. :) Also, the Green Cities car parking solution for vanilla is going around the channels, I think it is a good thing to learn from each other and then inform all your communities, it helps and educates all of us.
I've been going through Noobs Guide again and it's just as wonderful as watching it the first time. ❤❤ Such a beautiful city, so glad you are continuing it for a while longer, holds a dear place in our hearts. ❤❤❤❤
The interchange turned out really well! I enjoyed how you dove into placeing neighborhoods around it! Really helps to capture that interchange in the city vibe! It looks great!
I've had the game from the beginning and watched a lot of RUclipsrs build cities just like you. All they accomplished was that I threw the game aside, because I could never do it as beautifully as they did. Recently I gave it another try and because I want to play the pure game, I came across you. You are sublime. You have given me back my confidence. However, I do have a point of criticism, constructive of course ;). I can't see how you connect the industrial part to the newly created highway. Personally, I would appreciate it if you would give a short talk from above after your quick build, how you solved things with a short zoom in. Thank you again for all the effort.
It took ages but I finally built the interchange featured in the video then sat back with a bottle of wine watching the traffic zoom through, it really was tough going but explained really well and I'm really looking forward to the detailing.
Really, really enjoying this series! I'm a newb at Cities, but I'm able to build and design right along with you (pausing and rewinding as necessary), learning so much along the way. You're a great teacher. :)
Love that idea of using the gravel path to act as a guide for the curved trumpet exit ramps. I've been using cheap roads as a guide but they don't disappear once you connect to them so I'm constantly adding/deleting at greater expense than necessary. Great stuff
Amazing job here Egg! I love that you make things that look so far or complicated achievable, this is just priceless and super helpful :) THANKS! btw, completely unrelated, seeing the pollution coming from the industry area makes me sad. Green cities and sunset harbor helps a lot with this but you know, I'm sad for the poor vegetation that cannot grow on the area :(
You remind me of Bob Ross. Relaxing voice, making nice artwork. You even do the "happy little accident" thing like covering up mistakes with "a happy little bush". Awesome stuff, I'm hooked
Thanks for these videos man, Ive had cities since 2015 on PC (pc is outdated now), havent really touched it since then but am picking it up again.. got all the DLC but now i'm playing it on PS4 rather than PC and i really appreciate the care you take to explain how and why your doing what your doing It really is aesthetically pleasing to watch, especially since I zoned everything close together as possible to increase population and needs of citizens cause console is limited to 9 tiles Love your Vanilla builds+expansions 10/10
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I'm so happy you put this build out, I've seen your others, but I really think this one here is the best one, kept coming back to it to flesh it out Again, thanks, can't wait to see the skyline build
Really helpful video for interchanges. I don't like making them, this is really helpful for people like me. I still don't like making them but at least I can follow along here. :D
After playing hours and hours of cities skylines, transport fever is a completely different game when thinking about pre planning in a city you have no direct control over expanding.
Lately with the Airport update I've had a conflict of mod settings and game where when I load a city my hidden trees are no longer hidden. I end up spending time bulldozing them out of the streets and assets.
Thanks for this. As you say, I find interchanges intimidating to the point where I try to avoid them. None of mine look at all realistic; either my ramps (slip roads) are too sharp an angle or too tight or wide a curve. There's going to come a time where I will need to connect to a highway though. Part of my problem is being afraid of running out of money or not (yet) having access to the required road types.. Maybe I need to do a city or two with unlimited money and everything unlocked just to get some practice in.
I use something called a "LUT", they essentially change the shading of the game. The one I use is called RelightWarm, but there are thousands on the workshop. Other than that, nothing else, game settings are maxed :)
I'm doing pretty close play-along, but I will say - following you with that interchange was something impossible for me. You certainly have your way to explain things, but because of terraforming, it was hard to align everything and almost impossible to connect highways without anarchy. At last Inwas satisfied with one of Timboh's interchanges from workshop which certainly was close in looks with yours :D But probably because of that I won't be able to follow you THAT closely. Who knows, maybe it's a good thing - I wasnt able before to hold a city for more than one sitting and you were able to break that record for me. Here's to hopes!
Great vid egg! 2 quick questions, you most of the time avoid high density commercial, is that just because of the looks of it? Second, you have yet to zone any offices, is there a reason for that, keeping it for a later awesome area or? I think a video on how to make a cool office area would be nice!
Anybody struggling w stack interchanges.. I watched a few videos about stack interchanges while I was at work. Came home and struggled for hours to make it work. Then it hit me I SKIPPED THE TERRIFORMING!! Lmao didn't flatten the ground so my roads were higher on some sides Boom redone it perfect after that.
There is a tree count but its super high. You have to tree spam to hit it but mods can remove the cap. Just means you can't place more trees until you delete some others

My thoughts exactly 💯

Keep adding them egg, im no noob. But with your explaining and the detail you go into- makes it so easy to follow along
I think that I am Egg-addicted. I am enjoying your Noobs Guide & I've already been playing a couple of years. Thanks for sharing.

Love this series, very calm and chill. But hella useful at the same time.

Even though I’m console your videos have improved my city building sooo much
Masterclass incoming. :) loving this series along side Ilos.
Never knew how to work the terraform tool that you used until now. Thank you sir.
Great build, with good explanations that are actuly easy to understand.
I'm going to add this interchange in my build.
thanks to your videos my cities look decent and always watch you for inspiration!
Nice work on that interchange, everytime i do a big 4 way it's always a mess of move it and road anarchy.
Wow this really helped me. Mine didn't turn out quite like yours, but it still is the best interchange I've ever made. Thanks so much.
Wow OE you’ve been goated greatest of all time
After playing hours and hours of cities skylines, transport fever is a completely different game when thinking about pre planning in a city you have no direct control over expanding.
great! perhaps with road math - you could also downgrade the highway to 2 lanes between exits and onramps.
Nicely Built and well detailed.
Great video as always, enjoyed watching it!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it bro
Always a lovely video and Informative ASMR spice 🤗👏🏽. Also helping the algorithm 😊☺️

Lately with the Airport update I've had a conflict of mod settings and game where when I load a city my hidden trees are no longer hidden. I end up spending time bulldozing them out of the streets and assets.
Well done?
How do you keep people in the city so they dont travel to far out to work in a other part of town?

What dlc or settings are making your game look more realistic and crisp? My game looks kind of cartoonish.
I use something called a "LUT", they essentially change the shading of the game. The one I use is called RelightWarm, but there are thousands on the workshop. Other than that, nothing else, game settings are maxed :)
Really helpful and took me about an hour to copy this interchange only to realise that I'm playing left hand traffic and that's why it looks odd 🤦
Pro Tip!: during the time lapses if you want to watch it at normal speed then go into settings and change your speed to 0.5 :)

to be honest, this itnerchange looks great and you needed less time than me. I need around 1 hour for one and they are always lumpy and bumpy :D
More fun builds, Ty. 🥃🥃

Howdie OE, I'm looking forward to seeing how you build this interchange.
Hi does this series stick with the 9 tiles or end up expanding? Just wondering how far I can play along on PS5 :)
