Great stop over used that a few times when we came back to UK from France with our motorhome, unfortunately will not be mitorhoming now due to bereavement. I enjoyed your videos as I recognised a few places my husband and I went on touring. Safe journey and enjoy xx
Hi, so sorry to hear about your bereavement and from the bottom of our hearts wish you well. We hope that the videos gave you happy memories with some comfort. ❤
Hi, as the van was 10 months old when we got it we was lucky to have them already fitted so unfortunately i'm not sure where they come from. Maybe it's worth checking out ebay and i wish i could be of more help.
I thought I had a problem with my water level sensors on my Swift motorhome, after a bit of investigation I found out they measure each 25%. So if the tank is just under 75% full the gauge shows 50%, and on the way to empty once the tank gets below 25% it shows 0%. A little trick I’ve found to completely empty my fresh water tank is, I allow as much water as possible to drain, then reopen the electric drain valve and start the engine. This cuts the power to the system and the drain valve can’t close, so with the movement of the van as I drive down the road the very last dregs move around and come out the drain. It’s only fresh water so it’s ok for a few drops on the road. I have done the same thing for the waste tank while on a private track. This way your tank will be completely empty, if you only do a static drain it depends on the angle of the bottom of the tank as to how much water will remain. My way the last bits of water will move around as you brake and turn and find it’s way out of the drain. Quite agree about the state of our roads! I went over to France earlier in the year and did somewhere around 900 miles on French roads, apart from a very narrow back road (it might have been a farm track) I can’t remember any potholes. The roads were like a bowling green, no potholes no bodged repairs and no subsided road surface. I hadn’t even got out of the channel tunnel train terminal before I was driving through unavoidable enormous holes in the surface, the same once out on the motorway, pothole after pothole. As you said it’s just embarrassing for us that this is what we present to foreign visitors as soon as they arrive. I’ve seen better roads in some third world countries!
Hi, thank you as that's a great idea as i was unsure how to keep the drain valve open for more water to drain. I'll definitely give this a go 👍 Our roads just seem to be getting worse year after year hopefully this will change. Happy travels 😊
@@lifes4touring If you leave the drain valves open when you start the engine the Sargent system is turned off and the valve power is turned off as well, so the valves stay open but will reset to closed next time you turn the Sargent master panel power on, and then work as normal.
I've tried your suggestion and the valves stayed open when powering down the command system. So took the van for a nice drive to clear all the water, once i got back i powered up the command system and the valves automatically closed. Perfect Thank you 😊
Looks like a great stop over... you mentioned in the vlog about dirty sensors on the fresh & waste water tanks as it shows 25% even when empty, we experience the same problem and then we get frost alerts water in the tank(s) have you been able to over come this ?
Hi i just filled up and flushed through with this product, Thetford 30700AK Grey Water Fresh cleaner. amzn.to/4167ANK As for the fresh tank i just flushed through until it was reading correct. If the problem comes back i'll look at getting the sensors cleaned or replaced under warranty. I've heard it's a very common problem. Happy travels 😊
I was told the other day that the DVLA used to maintain the highways, which if so have they gotten worse since they've stopped, either way yes as a small modest country our roads are dire rant over lol, welcome back both
Thanks for another great vlog. Welcome home by the way
Thank you once again it's very much appreciated from us both 😊
Went into Canterbury P&R today ... Guess what? Clonked the driver's side mirror!!!
See it's where they have put it and nothing to do with my driving 🤣. Happy travels 😊
Looks like a good stop and there needs to be more like this 👍 awesome blog thanks
Thank you and if every park and ride had stops like this it would be a great addition in the UK. Happy travels 😊
