If you go out for Chinese (or Thai, etc), always ask for your rice to be boxed up separately and take it home. If you don’t use it to make quick fried rice or to add to burritos, etc, you can put it in a bag and into the freezer. I’ve even saved the leftover rice from a few Chinese dinners, just adding to the bag in the freezer (dated with the oldest rice) until I have enough to make something else or serve with a stir fry.

I usually have about 40 lbs of butter in the freezer at all times but since moving, I've let my stash run out.😭Now with prices going through the roof, I could kick myself for not keeping up my stock when there were sales for $1.99/lb! I live in Wisconsin and my 40+lbs had lasted me for 3 years for me and my husband.(empty nesters). Now I am scrambling to buy at $2.49/lb to get my stock back up in the deep freezer! I cant imagine what prices are elsewhere when in the "Dairy State", they are going through the roof! #LGB #FJB
I freeze my 1/2 gal milk jugs too! I buy it when it’s on sale and freeze until needed. I lay a jug out the night before and out in the fridge the next morning. You’ll never know it was frozen. (Be sure to shake the jug well before the first serving)
I have a question. I freeze my cheese too but when it’s time to defrost the slices become crumbly and I can’t really use the slice, I end up crumbling the cheese. Do you have any tips on how to keep it sliced when you thaw it out?
Depends on your freezer. You don't have to make sure it's frozen through, just enough to keep it together, maybe an hour or two. I never have room in my freezer so I just throw it in a bag or container and hope for the best

I scrolled through the comments and didn’t see my question, so i apologize if this is a repeat question, but how do you avoid freezer burn? It seems like no matter how cooled I get things or how much air I get out, it ALWAYS ends up with freezer burn.
Be sure you are buying a freezer bag, not a food storage bag. I would recommend Hefty or Ziploc over a store brand. There may be a little bit of freezing with liquid and moisture inside. Also try not to let it touch the side walls of the freezer.

I broke it up a little and put it back in for another 4 minutes and it was perfect. Second batch I broke the chunk into 2 smaller chunks and cooked for 20 mins again. This worked much better! Now I'm going to split all the beef into 5 packs and vacuum seal them before I freeze them. I love this method and will be using it again!
@@ladyfingerhandmade Its by far the easiest way to do burger. I am not a fan of standing over the stove cooking burger and sure not a fan of the smell of grease from meats when cooking. That is why I love my IP's and my air fryers. You know how you just cant get that smell for days out of your house I dont like that. Plus I am super lazy and doing it this way you can say opps I forgot to take out dinner and the burger is cooked and toss it in what ever your making and it thaws cant get better than that!
How do you thaw and reheat the cooked rice?
Loved this video because it was a reminder for the things I used to do AND taught me new things (freezing the rice). I found it very useful. Thank You.
It's very helpful come dinner time on a busy night.
Meatballs. Treat the same as cookies. I flash freeze them. And burgers.
Yes, flash freezing meatballs is great too!
I always freeze butter
It's so easy and nice to have on hand!
@@SixSistersStuff Agree 100%%%
I love watching your videos. A helpful tip I always do right before the holidays so I can get done faster. When freezing cookie dough I always put it on parchment paper on the trays so that it doesn’t stick like it did in a way on yours.
Yes, that works great too!
I have always just made a 2" log with my cookie dough. Wrap in Saran wrap and place into freezer bag. I slice 3/8-1/2" thick slices and bake as normal
Great idea! Milk also freezes well. So if you find a good buy freeze it! Our son says he doesn't like milk after it's been frozen, but he doesn't notice the difference once it thaws and it is shaken well.
We've had a few people share that they freeze milk! Great idea!
What is the best method for reheating the rice after it's frozen?
I add just a little water, cover with saran and microwave.
We usually just microwave it or add it into the recipe we are making.
I put a damp paper towel and nuke it for not too long. Or throw it in a stir fry. If you do the damp towel thing it tastes brand new
Thank you beautiful for sharing this video with us I always love watching your videos love from Melbourne Australia 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
Thanks for joining us all the way from beautiful Australia!!
Great tips!
Thank you for another great video! Hopefully, I will act on this one. My health has not been great of late. Several times I found myself thinking “why did I never put freezer meals together?” Maybe I’ve learned my lesson!
This might just be your sign!
Excellent ideas! Thanks Kristen. Going to freeze my spinach right now!
It's so nice to freeze it instead of throwing it away after it's gone bad!
Great suggestions! When you pull out the sandwiches, do they get soggy as they defrost? I’ve had that happen before, that’s why I’m asking
We haven't really had a problem with the PB&J.
love this channel
Thanks for the love!
Will jasmine rice freeze just as well?
Thank you so much for sharing these, Kristen. I love the 'cartoon inserts'. And the Doctor Strange one, too! We love Doctor Strange, Marvel. Have you seen the new movie? Looking forward to see more videos to come. Have a wonderful day.
Need to see the new movie! So glad you stopped by!
@@SixSistersStuff Thank you. I'm glad I stopped by too.
This is a very helpful video! Thanks
You are so welcome.
#LGB #FJB
It's pretty crazy everywhere! I would love to have 40 pounds in my freezer right now! Good luck building it back up!
Wow, great price! Here in south Texas I am paying $4.38 per lb.
I would like your cookbook,

@@SixSistersStuff Thanks!
I freeze my 1/2 gal milk jugs too! I buy it when it’s on sale and freeze until needed. I lay a jug out the night before and out in the fridge the next morning. You’ll never know it was frozen. (Be sure to shake the jug well before the first serving)
Yes, freezing milk is great too!
Great video, very helpful, thanks!!!
You are welcome.
I have learned so much from watching your channel thank you!!!
You are so welcome!!
@@SixSistersStuff Keep up the great work and your newborn baby girl is adorable!!
❤️ I love your videos! Thanks for creating them^^
No problem 😊
I have a question. I freeze my cheese too but when it’s time to defrost the slices become crumbly and I can’t really use the slice, I end up crumbling the cheese. Do you have any tips on how to keep it sliced when you thaw it out?
About how long does it take when fast freezing?
Depends on your freezer. You don't have to make sure it's frozen through, just enough to keep it together, maybe an hour or two. I never have room in my freezer so I just throw it in a bag or container and hope for the best
It takes about 1-2 hours.
I just bought a 5 lb "roll" of ground beef, but it is not frozen. How much time? I want to put some precooked meat in my freezer.
Does your rice get mushy after you freeze and cook again?
I love making rice in my Instant Pot, I dehydrate unused leftovers to make my own minute rice as my freezer space is at a premium.
Where you get those green stand things for the ziplock bags???
Right here!

@@SixSistersStuff thanks! I had been using freezer bags, but I’ll try the other ideas too!
Also, I wrap stuff in plastic really well, then put it in a larger freezer bag. She has a larger family so it probably gets used faster than mine.
Also check the temperature on your freezer. If it's not cold enough, items freeze slowly allowing ice crystals to form
Is it better to cook g beef and freeze or just freeze it in the packaging?
I think cooking it and then freezing it is the best option because then when you pull it out of the freezer you can just hurry and use it!
Q. Love love your channel!! Do you have a air fryer toaster oven by chance? We just got one looking for recipes. ?? Help??
We only have an air fryer that we primarily use! If you check out some of those recipes throughout the channel - you just might be able to find something you like!
How would you cook ground beef with seasonings?
Just add your seasonings as you are browning your hamburger.
@@SixSistersStuff thx!!
