Texas Smoked Chicken Recipe - Crispy Skin Smoked Chicken Easy
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 июн 2024
- On this video, I show you my Texas Smoked Chicken Recipe. This smoked chicken only took 1 1/2 hours to cook on my Yoder YS640 Pellet Smoker. Traditional Texas Chicken will only have Salt and Pepper but that's a little bland so I added a little bit of granulated garlic and paprika for extra flavor. I used LC BBQ rubs on 2 of the chicken halves and that chicken was packed with flavor. The chicken skin on both of these chickens was really nice and crispy. This Smoked Chicken Recipe is super easy and something you can cook during the week.
Thanks for watching

I borrowed your recipe and won a $100 gift card from my work, after making two smoked chickens for our summer BBQ competition. Thank you!
That's awesome! Congratulations 🎊
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Thank you!
Joe, Joe, Joe! I'm at timestamp 5:01 and I'm thrilled! At 19 yrs old, I began culinary training in Europe! Now I'm 71 and far more "down home!" You're the first BBQ guy I've seen that teaches your skills at the level I learned "high brow" cooking (not just what, but why!) Impressed!!
I refuse to bow to the “experts” on what type of grill/smoker I should or shouldn’t have. I use what works for me and allow everyone else the same latitude. Just be grilling and smoking...Darlington, South Carolina
I understand if people can't operate an offset, not everyone is perfect...Brady, Texas
My man... Shannon, Québec
I agree, I am sick to death of the term “push button BBQ” and it is usually from idiots who aren’t smart enough to actually turn on a pellet smoker. I have spent my years using my offsets and now pellet smokers and there is room FOR BOTH!! Smokin’ Joe (of course), Malcolm Reed, Myron Mixon, Harry Soo, Meat Church, Chud’s BBQ and countless others have all used and still use pellet grills/smokers.
@@ledhed5717 I’m so hooked on my offset that my WSM hasn’t seen a spark since I first fired up Betty 2 yrs ago😂
Who u telling....Grilling for perfection myself
The finished product on the cutting board is just mouth watering.
Love your style. Clean, seasoned, tasty and professional.
I watch a lot of cooking videos. You are right there at the top, Joe. You deserve waaaaay more subs.
Im a kid on my parents account and i mostly watch video games but i got hooked when i saw ur pulled pork video, it looks so good!
Awesome! I appreciate you watching.👍

OK, Joe, You are on the hook. When my wife questions the Yoder Pellet Smoker showing up at my door. I'm saying that Joe from "Smokin' Joe's" said, "Every household needs a pellet smoker".
Love this recipe

Joe, love your cooking style. Nice tip on the ICBINB spray. Smoke on my friend.
This was one of the few youtube ads that actually grabbed my attention. The money you've spent on advertising.... Thank you for that! Time to get my BBQ skills up, I've been looking for a channel like this! Love from OurAirIsBBQFornia lol
Thank you so much Mr.! I appreciate you watching and commenting!👍
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ of course 🙏, hopefully the channel grows into an empire! Best of luck and keep up the outstanding work!
Good Morning Sir, i will definitely watch your show!!!
Looks like so good eating! Did this last week and it sure was great eating. I only used salt and pepper for brining. Does all the other items like onions and herbs make a big difference if I only use a gal plastic bag for the brining tank because of having to fit it in the ref?
Yes sir, especially the herbs. It leaves a really good flavor on the chicken. Just remember to rinse off the chicken. 👍
Congrats on going over 20,000 subscribers. Woo Hoo.🎈🎈🍰🙂. Great looking chicken. I liked the toothpick trick. Great idea with the butter spray and crispy skin. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎. Congrats again.
Grumpy! Thank you so much my man! I appreciate you being here from the beginning. Thanks for watching buddy.👍
Great video, great explanations, not a lot of babble, much appreciated, and I subscribed.

Thank you Drift.👍

Haha i get like that at night when i watch BBQ videos too
@@Runyamouth glad I'm not the only one 👍
Hello from O.K.! Trying to place where i've seen those buckets with no success. Where did you find your brining bucket?
Great lookin chickens Joe! I Smoke chicken a lot and it is hard to beat. The smell Always brings me back to the days of firehouse chicken dinners with old cinderblock pits.
As a bbq guy, I sometimes forget about chicken. You're right, the smell of chicken being smoked is savage! Thanks for watching.👍
Hi, Joe! I really enjoy your videos. I'm curious about the brine. No sugar? I thought sugar was a must-have ingredient in a brine solution. Please give me your thoughts on this. Thanks a lot!
Nice tip with the toothpick! Also I'm gonna try the butter at the end for the skin! Great video!!! Hey what size brine bucket was you using? Looks like it would be able to hold a turkey as well? Thanks!
Thank you. That was a 5 gallon brine bucket. 👍
I’m trying this!!!
Very Nice someone I can finally learn from a little! LOL!
I've watched quite a few of your videos and subbed I figured I'd make you my teacher I purchased a pit boss 820xl pellet smoker I'm loving it I'll definitely be doing this one.
Joe you are the consummate cook! Can’t tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I am up in Montana and trying to get ready to enter a cook off. As of now I only have a Pit Boss, which really cooks well. I am going to build an offset in the near future, but for now it’s the pellet grill. My question is “do you think a guy can compete with a pellet smoker?”
Absolutely you can. I've cooked on a pellet smoker for comps and have have really good luck. 👍🏼
Spot on regarding the pellet smoker
There are not that accessible here in the UK but what you said makes total sense in a time poor world for the working man / woman
Purest can work my chode
Keep up the great content
Hi Joe! I can't stand eating chicken UNLESS it's smoked or fried. My favorite wood to smoke chicken with is mesquite. It's awesome! And have to get that skin crispy. I love chicken this way, any other way is southern fried. I can't eat chicken any other way.
Smoking and Grilling with A B, always talking about you on his show
Looks good man keep up the good work👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you King! I appreciate you watching.👍
Man I love that smoker...bird looks fantastic.
Thank you Ray! These birds were really juicy and packed with flavor. Thanks for watching brother.🤘
Smokin' Joe's Pit BBQ loo I’ll oPs
Looks good brother! Much love from the RGV👍
Wow! But I must ask a silly question. How do you refrigerate that large brine tub?
For your brine, did you boil the water or is it just cold water?
Looks great...does the brine make a big difference in texture and taste? I've brined chicken breast but it came out a bit salty to me and with my health I need to be watching my salt intake. Thanks!
Maybe you added TOO much salt. Once you rinse, and add additional seasonings just make sure you forfeit premade seasonings that contain salt as well.
Yummy
Follow this man for creating epic bbq.
Where to you store your brine bucket, it so big does it fit in your fridge?
Those chicken look amazingly tasty!
Brother these were so darn good. Thanks so much for watching.👍
I need this is my life!

Love your channel bro
Hey, Im from El Paso also! I just purchased at YS1500s. How do your Yoders hold up in our environment (ie rust, paint)? What do you do for upkeep? By the way all your food looks great!!
That thumbnail is amazing! Will definitely be trying this
Thank you Adam! Chicken was so darn good.👍
ឲ
Man that LC bird is a beautimus piece of work.
Because I'ma lazy slug, my go to rub is simply salt, pepper and sugar in the smoker. 👍🍻
Gotta try that LC!🤘
Nice
Thanks for the butter spray trick for crispy skin. How long did you brine?
You're welcome. Usually overnight does the trick. 👍🏼
BBQ looks good
First time I've seen your channel... awesome work sir! Us backwoods Wisconsinites do not get to eat like that all the time. Great work sir!! I hope you have Weber kettle episodes! Again great job! Very thorough and clearly spoken and easy to follow! I was that had 2 thumbs up buttons! Haha
Thanks so much Michael.👍
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ honestly? Do you have any Weber kettle skills you could throw our (as channel followers) way? Funds are tight... I can't afford to go out and buy a pellet smoker at this time. Some skill on the grill is all I have at the moment. Thank you for your reply its good to know that you ACTUALLY pay attention! Great work sir!
