I have the same issue, i have to play a song on RUclips music 1st and then pause it and then I can adjust the volume on RUclips. You should be allowed to change the volume, regardless. Such a hassle.
I've tried with Apple CarPlay and it works correctly. But what about our Android Auto? Maybe a good IT/software specialist could fix the problem? I tried to find somebody but with no result. :-(
Actually, you should be able to do. But when you touch the volume button, the video will pause and you should touch play on phone's screen after you adjust the volume on car audio. 🙈
Android auto sucks big time. The most anoying fututure is that is sets the media volume on maximum.. waze, maps.. they all sound way too loud.. It starts randomly the audio player on my phone or internet radio, witch play in paralel with the car radio..
Came to this video because im still having this issue :/ just wanted to say that in my old car I had an aftermarket radio that let me specifically set the default volume for music, navigation, calls, "ok google", etc. My 2023 Toyota still has the volume changing issue and i can't set any of the default volumes. But if you have an aftermarket radio definitely dig through the settings!
any one find a fix to this problem yet i have this issue on my 22 tacoma. i use pandora and like to watch youtube or netflix it dose it and goes back to pandora.
I'm trying, too, but so far with no results. Drivers are the best testers and they are for free. I would be happy if I get free comments (if they are reasonable, of course). But Toyota isn't happy and is ignoring users. :-( Please let me know if you solve the problem. I will write you as well if I have a solution.

Same issue here. I can not increase or decreased the sound when i play youtube video on Android Auto. I wish we had a solution.

After couple updates, it "sometimes" do the same silly thing and "sometimes not". : (
I couldn't figure out why / how :(
It is a Lexus and Toyota problem. I don't have this issue on Hyundai and Subaru
