Chad and Jolene, I am a retired Police Chief, One of the most fun and rewarding parts of my career was when I was a Motor officer in Grants Pass Oregon USA and was riding a 1976 ZIP 900 cc Police Kawasaki, Fastest Police motorcycle I ever rode. The 1000 police Kawasaki Motors were not as fast and the Harleys, and BMWs were not as fast. My Police motor officer riding career included teaching two week motor officer training schools for the Oregon Board of Police Standards and Training for @ ten years. Loved riding that 900cc Kawasaki so much that I bought it and restored it, and it is on Display with other Grants Pass emergency vehicles in Grants Pass, Oregon. I never miss your show!
I’m a bike rider and I love your collection. I was a kid when the BSA and Triumphs ruled and then the Honda 750 came along to blow the English bikes away. The Z900 was even better. Didn’t handle well but the power was amazing. Huge following. It’s great to see so many bikes in such good condition.

Hey Chad and Jolene, I am a big fan of you two. The idea for your motorcycle going against the wall. Why don't you have a shelf that rides on one cylinder, that takes the bike up and stays up and any time you need to clean them press the button to bring it down to its shelf then press the button to send it up and locked in its position. It is just an idea.
Hi guys, I’m in the Uk and a proper motorcycle fan, The Z1 is worth $20k as it stands, the handlebars are correct but fitted upside down to give it the cafe racer look. The Honda CB750 is and M, a really iconic bike. Your right the first year and the forerunner to the Japanese conquering the US and UK. As it sits I would say slightly more than the z1! I was just gonna write it would be awesome to see all these bikes up in the air ( off the floor ) like an inside catwalk all the way around, then @Chad mentioned the racking system.. lol.. y’all are knocking it out of the park!! If you get the Z1 fully refurbed well it will be worth more than 2 maybe 3 of the best bikes you have in your collection at least, I sold one of mine which was a 1973 Z1b excellent condition full history original everything for £25,000 five years ago I kept the other one same year which I bought from new and for me it's priceless I have been offered £30,000 and you are spot on its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it but trust me Z1z are what people want the world over so good luck my friend
The Z1 that sold at Mecum was a 1973, first year of production. Yours is a 74. Still a collectible bike but will always be a bit less than the 73. They made some Z1’s in the last half of 1972, those are the cats meow.
It has the wrong carbs on it for a Z1, the carbs on the bike are webbed but the carbs on the early Z1’s were not. So it’s a ‘bits-a’, bits of this and bits of that.
Good eye. I checked out some of the results of that auction. The prices kinda shocked me. But most of the big money Japanese bikes were low mile, over restored bikes. Polished more than stock and flawless paint. But still amazing auction!!

Love the bikes. They take up little space and the variety is vast. Also many cool vintage bikes are still under the radar and can be purchased at good prices.
That ZRX1200R in green, w/the Muzzy exhaust, is super-nice. I have a 2001 in blue/purple/black that's a lot rougher than yours, but still great fun to ride. The aftermarket seat is a fantastic improvement over the original, but it's nice to have the original seat, they're hard to find. Very nice collection you've got.
Yes, I also like motorcycles. 👍 There are some nice ones, like sidecar or chopper and others. I drove small mopeds for 4 years, then at 18 I got my driving license and I discovered that the car is much more comfortable, safe, spacious... and moreover it is better when it rains, snows and is cold. 😉
Can’t believe what that Kawasaki brought at auction. That’s insane. Your absolutely right Chad…it only takes two bidders with money to go head to head to buy that bike. Obviously that bike was worth more to those two bidders than the bike itself 👍 But that helps out the entire bike community who owns a bike like that👍
Nice collection, oddly enough the ZRX and the YZ400 are 2 of the higher dollar bikes you have there. Great find on the Z1. The one at Mecum was owned by Mike Konapaki from Ontario, he took 6 bikes, from the 73 Z1 to a 76 Z1R, he has 68 bikes at home, he's been drag racing kawasakis for ever.
Some of those older Jawas have an odd kickstart/shift. After kick starting, you push the kickstart lever into the motor and it flips around to become the foot shift pedal. Also, be careful with that BMW R71. It could be a Chang Jiang 750 or even a Russian M72. Both are copies of the BMW and a lot of guys made fake BMWs out of them. Changs have a serial number on the frame under the seat on the left side. The M72 has the number on the left frame rail, towards the rear, over the plunger, just like BMW. But on the BMW, it would have a little BMW roundel stamped both in front and back of the serial number. The chang has a 5 pointed star, both in front of the number and behind the number.
That old black one is not Jawa! That company name is ČZ made in city name Strakonice in Czech Republic. They shared same components with Jawa because of collective industrialization of communism time in Czechoslovakia. Same company made in 40th motorcycles for Pope’s Swiss guard (white with gold stripes).
Used to ride and back in the day. I bought a new Honda GL1000 in Berkley CA and drove it cross county to CT. I had 40,000 when I sold it after I restored it. I lost my shirt on it but would have made a ton of money if it was an HD Glide. Get your license and ride it's a great feeling of freedom. The air has so many smells as you riding through the county side and look at the memories you will have. Your collection is cool. Keep working on it, but no pun, enjoy the ride of life!
Very nice collection of motorcycles! I miss riding, had all sorts, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Harleys, but traffic here in Central Florida and crazy drivers make it extra dangerous, your safety is not in your own hands here. So sold them and no longer ride. Maybe again some day. Thanks for showing them all!
Nice collection if you like Japanese bikes. I thought the Jawa is a neat bike to have in your collection. The 1200 Sporty chop is cool, although it will never be worth big $. Nice episode as it was different. Love your fabrication and Jolene’s camera work! You two should get bike licenses, I have been riding for over 55 years.
The Sportster may become valuable, due to the guy who owned it and do the custom leather work, is currently making a name for himself in the music scene. He's another local boy from Nova Scotia and a very cool cat.
That BMW R/60 23ith sidecar is extremely valuable, you have an eclectic collection, just randomly collecting. A lot of the older Japanese bikes can be found in junk piles around the country, but your concentration on the inline 4's is really unique, and the old BSA Goldstar! The 2-stroke Suzuki was a pure screamer with a huge cloud of blue smoke. You could sell some of them for huge profit!
And the Ural is not an Ural but a chinese Changjiang 750!!! The BMW R71 Chad is referring to was build in 1938 and had a 750cc side valve engine. The Russians took over the design and built it until the early 1960‘s. It was called M72 and it’s the grandfather of today’s Ural. From there there Chinese took over and built it well into the 2000‘s. Lot’s of them are faked as BMW‘s and unfortunately that seems to be one example. It even has not even the sv-motor but a Chinese ohv-engine.
Oh man, that Honda Interceptor was Top King when I was in high school. Still love that bike. For someone that doesn’t ride, you sure have a lot of them😂😂😂 Good show guys.

I see you relocated the HRV in the new garage. Be sure to have it serviced regularly and you’ll find that the mood problems won’t be a problem. Proper air circulation is important . Your cars and trucks are going to be happier too. 👍🇨🇦
Great video ! I ride a Harley ( and have a1956 just sitting as well ) and have always enjoyed motorcycles and their history. ( especially Vincents and Brough's Superiors). We had a dealership back in the day and sold KZ 900's brand new. It is almost hard to imagine that auction price, seems like some people have too much money. Love that race car. Keep it up Chad and Jolene; that new building is outstanding. Thank you.
All those bikes would'nt even a make a down payment on a nice Brough Superior. Maybe a Vincent. My grandfather rode a Brough Superior and my grandmother rode a Crocker, she was 4'10" and would'nt ride on the back of hubbys bike a true liberated woman back in the day , I think Crocker was built in her home town in Pasadena California.
Nice collection Chad! I dunno, 42k for a perfect Z1 is pretty steep. Your CB750 in perfect original condition is worth in the 10k range, The KZ1000 would bring 12k probably. A lot of resto though! If you'd ever consider parting with a Kawi 750, I might be interested!
Nice collection of motorcycles, I had a Kawasaki 1975 z-1 900 what a nice bike i had it for 22 years and sold it like a fool, the stock pipes you can still get them for about 1600 hundred.Every body back in the day took the stock pipes off and put a kerker header on them.Look on the neck of the bike and you will see that most of that bike was built in the USA Lincoln Nebraska ,ps the bike in the video was a first year 1973 kawasaki 900 that's why it sold for so much great video

The race car should have bigger size wheels IMHO, something off a truck maybe 22-25 inches in size, just to make it look proportional, love your collection if I was ever able to go to Canada I would definitely like to catch up and see your cars.

Chad I own 1 bike and it's a 1300 Honda Sabre 2010 and I still ride at soon be 78 and I have rode bikes off and on for over 57 years and I still enjoy riding and having the wind in my face. I've slowed down on riding because there are to many people who are talking are playing with their phones and not paying attention to what they are doing. Cool collection, I had an NSU Prinze many years ago, it was a 2 door car, tiny, 2 cylinder four stoke rear engine, it used 3 flat bars to drive the cam, cool little car.

I started racing moto on a 84 rm 80 in '95 and that yamahamer looks a lot like my old bike even though they are different brands, same color. Good video. New comer here cause im a bike guy. Love the collection and the yz 400 is my favorite. Im rebuilding a 03 yz125 right now. Well restoring anyway. Putting a lot of effort into makin it right.

6:00 Sidecar bike is Chinese Cj750 , which was produced in great numbers , and shares its origins with 1938 Bmw R 71 , so you will often come across lot of guys putting bmw emblems on their soviet /or chinese iron steeds , just to make them look more appealing .

I had a friend that bought one of those kawasaki 900's when they first came out and that was a bad machine...really fast. I definitely would restore that one you got from jimbo and keep it..nice collection Chad and Jolene.

Great collection of bikes jolene n chad. Look after them .my favourite one i had was a triumph thunderbird 650 took me 4yrs to chrome every nut and bolt with spoke wheels. Back in 69.
Rode a Bonneville 750 back and forth to college in the mid 80’s. Loved that bike, except when in rained. If it started to rain I’d have to run to get it started before it got too wet. It didn’t like starting when wet. Loved the torque it had. Was awesome passing cars between like 40 and 60mph! It would stomp a Honda 750 up to around 60.

I believe you have the collectible twin card BSA 750 Lightning, the 750 Thunderbolt which I had , would have one carb. When I was 10 I saw a Francis Barnett for the first time and that got me into biking. In 1966. In the UK we called them a Fanny Barnett. I guess you will have a museum one day for people to visit your collection.
Get yourself to the Barber motorcycle Museum. Plenty of Ideas there,V8 ,V12 , 5 cylinder , V2 Honda's etc . The value for the Z900 is in the original series Z1,Z1A ,Z1B 72,73,74. $35 k is more realistic, the parts are mostly available in Repo, original ,and quality ,pays the bucks.
FYI - and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all but one thing I had luck with was spraying all my storage bikes down with WD40. i spray everything on the bike and when I would take them out of storage I would wash them with hot soapy water and they look like new. You have a neat collection, Keep them running so the carbs don't gum up.

i went thousands of miles on early 60's BMW and my buddy had a sidecar for his but we never road tripped with it. We would do 12hrs per day and my longest was a 26hr straight run. My older brother is about 80 and still does cannonball runs. i remember primal screaming from the pain of long distance driving and knowing the farther you go you will have the same ride home
I have a few of them bikes and have 3 Katana 750's I am restoring 88, 93, and 95 as well as a 2001 Katana 600, which is of course a great canyon carver. A 2000 ZX11 and not one of em has more than 12k Miles. The 2001 and 2000 are all around 8K and very clean. If ya wanna run down to Virginia they are for sale. (Northern Va)
i have a few bikes in OZ here mainly yam xs650,s a kwaka 900 in top condition is for sale $48,000 so the grey one is a good taxfree investment as most of them good luck in the new big bright shed ,fill it up with toys mate

My uncle sold NSU scooters back in the 50s and 60s. We had a red Prima which was 175cc and a blue one which was 150cc. I don't know what you would take for the red one and I'm not sure how to get it to Tucson without breaking the bank. But it does bring back fond memories or riding them in southern California back in the day.

The bike at the auction is a 73, FIRST year, restored by a gentleman in Ontario. He actually had 3 bikes at Mecum this year i think, 2 73's and 1 74. He does impeccable work. An x motorcycle drag racer. It has original or NOS parts only, any repop stuff like pipes etc would make it much less as far as value. Your 74 would be worth, maybe half AFTER a restoration. At best. The 73's are getting out of site for sure. I have had several of them and kick my ass for selling. I just picked up a 78 KZ1000 and may do a 73 clone as a keeper.
Motorcycles are fun to ride BUT, the problem is other drivers don’t see you. In my teen years, I was run off the road up a sidewalk by a tractor trailer by the rear trailer wheels when he didn’t see me. Another time someone pulled out dead in front of me and forced me off the road. Thankfully I had a place to go both times ! Those Japanese “croc rockets “ can do over 150 mph. I can’t imagine ! I have been passed on the Interstate by young kids I know we’re doing way over 100 mph …… Scared me and I prayed I wouldn’t see them rolled up in a ball further down the road. I gave them up years ago, a friend of ours nearly died on hers several years ago. Sounds like the throw out bearing fork broke inside the bell housing on the race car ? Great Video !!!
My folks bought me a used Kawasaki dirt bike, for my 12th birthday, back in the 1970s. Once I learned to ride it, they couldn't keep me off of it. And since we had a few hundred acres, I had plenty of room to ride. I never owned a street bike. But I rode a few that belonged to friends.
Lovely collection! That ZRX1200 is a keeper, looks real nice! And if you don't know how to pronounce Muzzy, you will 100% appreciate the sound, brilliant engine!
If you ever find a Yamaha RD400, from 1976, BUY IT! It was my first ever new vehicle buy and it turned a classic , cult King-Killer. I remember very well beating the pants off of many bikes much larger displacement than that 400cc 2 stroke. Ah, I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning. 👍🇨🇦. That Jawa/CZ is a great old bike, had me a 250cc CZ dirt bike. You have a nice few European bikes there.
I have always had my heart into motorcycles. Every since my very first ride. My dad had a triumph Bonneville. He took me out on it. I was 4 or 5 years old.
So Chad, we have met a few times in the past. I was Bunk Spencers’s bass player. Lyndsay Campbell and I are friends. Didn’t know you had an interest in motorcycles. So, soon I will be offering two vintage and very rare bikes for sale to make some room here in Windsor. 1969 Kawasaki SS 650 Commander with plenty of spare parts. IMO it’s a great Collection of Motorcycles , and i honestly think that it’s a smart Investmentbfor people your age , especially buying them in the manner and shape you are doing so many of those Motorcycles are ones that hold a special place in my Age Groups hearts and we have the funds and Love to pay high money for the ones that are preserved and complete being stored inside is a big Key alot of those bikes do sadly sit outside and just get to the point it’s not worth the investment to bring hem back BTW the one you thought was the fastest of the Day wasn’t I beleive that era the Kawasaki Ninja held that title for many years of that time ,i rode one and Man were they fast i had trouble keeping the front wheel on the pavement because i didn’t even ride it like you are supposed to ,laying over the Tank Legs stretched out behind you it was the first Crotch Rocket !

A lot of guys say the Z1 never handles well, I put TT100s on mine & it handles pretty good tbh!

If you get the Z1 fully refurbed well it will be worth more than 2 maybe 3 of the best bikes you have in your collection at least, I sold one of mine which was a 1973 Z1b excellent condition full history original everything for £25,000 five years ago I kept the other one same year which I bought from new and for me it's priceless I have been offered £30,000 and you are spot on its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it but trust me Z1z are what people want the world over so good luck my friend
The Z1 that sold at Mecum was a 1973, first year of production. Yours is a 74. Still a collectible bike but will always be a bit less than the 73. They made some Z1’s in the last half of 1972, those are the cats meow.
...oh and I added the 4 into 4 pipes for good measure
It has the wrong carbs on it for a Z1, the carbs on the bike are webbed but the carbs on the early Z1’s were not. So it’s a ‘bits-a’, bits of this and bits of that.
Good eye. I checked out some of the results of that auction. The prices kinda shocked me. But most of the big money Japanese bikes were low mile, over restored bikes. Polished more than stock and flawless paint. But still amazing auction!!

That ZRX1200R in green, w/the Muzzy exhaust, is super-nice. I have a 2001 in blue/purple/black that's a lot rougher than yours, but still great fun to ride. The aftermarket seat is a fantastic improvement over the original, but it's nice to have the original seat, they're hard to find. Very nice collection you've got.
Yes, I also like motorcycles. 👍 There are some nice ones, like sidecar or chopper and others.
I drove small mopeds for 4 years, then at 18 I got my driving license and I discovered that the car is much more comfortable, safe, spacious... and moreover it is better when it rains, snows and is cold. 😉

Can’t believe what that Kawasaki brought at auction. That’s insane. Your absolutely right Chad…it only takes two bidders with money to go head to head to buy that bike. Obviously that bike was worth more to those two bidders than the bike itself 👍 But that helps out the entire bike community who owns a bike like that👍
Nice collection, oddly enough the ZRX and the YZ400 are 2 of the higher dollar bikes you have there. Great find on the Z1. The one at Mecum was owned by Mike Konapaki from Ontario, he took 6 bikes, from the 73 Z1 to a 76 Z1R, he has 68 bikes at home, he's been drag racing kawasakis for ever.
Some of those older Jawas have an odd kickstart/shift. After kick starting, you push the kickstart lever into the motor and it flips around to become the foot shift pedal. Also, be careful with that BMW R71. It could be a Chang Jiang 750 or even a Russian M72. Both are copies of the BMW and a lot of guys made fake BMWs out of them. Changs have a serial number on the frame under the seat on the left side. The M72 has the number on the left frame rail, towards the rear, over the plunger, just like BMW. But on the BMW, it would have a little BMW roundel stamped both in front and back of the serial number. The chang has a 5 pointed star, both in front of the number and behind the number.
That old black one is not Jawa! That company name is ČZ made in city name Strakonice in Czech Republic. They shared same components with Jawa because of collective industrialization of communism time in Czechoslovakia. Same company made in 40th motorcycles for Pope’s Swiss guard (white with gold stripes).
Used to ride and back in the day. I bought a new Honda GL1000 in Berkley CA and drove it cross county to CT. I had 40,000 when I sold it after I restored it. I lost my shirt on it but would have made a ton of money if it was an HD Glide.
Get your license and ride it's a great feeling of freedom. The air has so many smells as you riding through the county side and look at the memories you will have.
Your collection is cool. Keep working on it, but no pun, enjoy the ride of life!
Very nice collection of motorcycles! I miss riding, had all sorts, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Harleys, but traffic here in Central Florida and crazy drivers make it extra dangerous, your safety is not in your own hands here. So sold them and no longer ride. Maybe again some day.

Nice collection if you like Japanese bikes. I thought the Jawa is a neat bike to have in your collection. The 1200 Sporty chop is cool, although it will never be worth big $. Nice episode as it was different. Love your fabrication and Jolene’s camera work! You two should get bike licenses, I have been riding for over 55 years.
The Sportster may become valuable, due to the guy who owned it and do the custom leather work, is currently making a name for himself in the music scene.
He's another local boy from Nova Scotia and a very cool cat.
That BMW R/60 23ith sidecar is extremely valuable, you have an eclectic collection, just randomly collecting. A lot of the older Japanese bikes can be found in junk piles around the country, but your concentration on the inline 4's is really unique, and the old BSA Goldstar! The 2-stroke Suzuki was a pure screamer with a huge cloud of blue smoke. You could sell some of them for huge profit!
And the Ural is not an Ural but a chinese Changjiang 750!!!
The BMW R71 Chad is referring to was build in 1938 and had a 750cc side valve engine. The Russians took over the design and built it until the early 1960‘s. It was called M72 and it’s the grandfather of today’s Ural. From there there Chinese took over and built it well into the 2000‘s.
Lot’s of them are faked as BMW‘s and unfortunately that seems to be one example.
It even has not even the sv-motor but a Chinese ohv-engine.
Yup, it's a CJ750 which is why it was so cheap.

Great video ! I ride a Harley ( and have a1956 just sitting as well ) and have always enjoyed motorcycles and their history. ( especially Vincents and Brough's Superiors). We had a dealership back in the day and sold KZ 900's brand new. It is almost hard to imagine that auction price, seems like some people have too much money. Love that race car. All those bikes would'nt even a make a down payment on a nice Brough Superior. Maybe a Vincent. My grandfather rode a Brough Superior and my grandmother rode a Crocker, she was 4'10" and would'nt ride on the back of hubbys bike a true liberated woman back in the day , I think Crocker was built in her home town in Pasadena California.
You work hard and things like old rusty cars and motorcycles that most people would see as junk but Jolene and Chad see them as art .
Nice collection Chad! I dunno, 42k for a perfect Z1 is pretty steep. Your CB750 in perfect original condition is worth in the 10k range, The KZ1000 would bring 12k probably. A lot of resto though! If you'd ever consider parting with a Kawi 750, I might be interested!

Nice collection of motorcycles, I had a Kawasaki 1975 z-1 900 what a nice bike i had it for 22 years and sold it like a fool, the stock pipes you can still get them for about 1600 hundred.Every body back in the day took the stock pipes off and put a kerker header on them.Look on the neck of the bike and you will see that most of that bike was built in the USA Lincoln Nebraska ,ps the bike in the video was a first year 1973 kawasaki 900 that's why it sold for so much great video

The race car should have bigger size wheels IMHO, something off a truck maybe 22-25 inches in size, just to make it look proportional, love your collection if I was ever able to go to Canada I would definitely like to catch up and see your cars.

Chad I own 1 bike and it's a 1300 Honda Sabre 2010 and I still ride at soon be 78 and I have rode bikes off and on for over 57 years and I still enjoy riding and having the wind in my face. I've slowed down on riding because there are to many people who are talking are playing with their phones and not paying attention to what they are doing. Cool collection, I had an NSU Prinze many years ago, it was a 2 door car, tiny, 2 cylinder four stoke rear engine, it used 3 flat bars to drive the cam, cool little car.
I can remember when a lot of those Motorcycles came out new.

I started racing moto on a 84 rm 80 in '95 and that yamahamer looks a lot like my old bike even though they are different brands, same color. Good video. New comer here cause im a bike guy. Love the collection and the yz 400 is my favorite. Im rebuilding a 03 yz125 right now. Well restoring anyway. Putting a lot of effort into makin it right.

6:00 Sidecar bike is Chinese Cj750 , which was produced in great numbers , and shares its origins with 1938 Bmw R 71 , so you will often come across lot of guys putting bmw emblems on their soviet /or chinese iron steeds , just to make them look more appealing .

Great collection of bikes jolene n chad. Look after them .my favourite one i had was a triumph thunderbird 650 took me 4yrs to chrome every nut and bolt with spoke wheels. Back in 69.
Rode a Bonneville 750 back and forth to college in the mid 80’s. Loved that bike, except when in rained. If it started to rain I’d have to run to get it started before it got too wet. It didn’t like starting when wet. Loved the torque it had. Was awesome passing cars between like 40 and 60mph! It would stomp a Honda 750 up to around 60.

I believe you have the collectible twin card BSA 750 Lightning, the 750 Thunderbolt which I had , would have one carb. When I was 10 I saw a Francis Barnett for the first time and that got me into biking. In 1966. In the UK we called them a Fanny Barnett.
I guess you will have a museum one day for people to visit your collection.
Get yourself to the Barber motorcycle Museum. Plenty of Ideas there,V8 ,V12 , 5 cylinder , V2 Honda's etc . The value for the Z900 is in the original series Z1,Z1A ,Z1B 72,73,74. $35 k is more realistic, the parts are mostly available in Repo, original ,and quality ,pays the bucks.
FYI - and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all but one thing I had luck with was spraying all my storage bikes down with WD40. i spray everything on the bike and when I would take them out of storage I would wash them with hot soapy water and they look like new. You have a neat collection, Keep them running so the carbs don't gum up.

i went thousands of miles on early 60's BMW and my buddy had a sidecar for his but we never road tripped with it. We would do 12hrs per day and my longest was a 26hr straight run. My older brother is about 80 and still does cannonball runs. i remember primal screaming from the pain of long distance driving and knowing the farther you go you will have the same ride home
Loving all the bikes. We get to see one or two here or there but I never realized how many good bikes you had tucked away.
I have a few of them bikes and have 3 Katana 750's I am restoring 88, 93, and 95 as well as a 2001 Katana 600, which is of course a great canyon carver. A 2000 ZX11 and not one of em has more than 12k Miles. The 2001 and 2000 are all around 8K and very clean. If ya wanna run down to Virginia they are for sale. (Northern Va)
i have a few bikes in OZ here mainly yam xs650,s a kwaka 900 in top condition is for sale $48,000 so the grey one is a good taxfree investment as most of them good luck in the new big bright shed ,fill it up with toys mate

My uncle sold NSU scooters back in the 50s and 60s. We had a red Prima which was 175cc and a blue one which was 150cc. I don't know what you would take for the red one and I'm not sure how to get it to Tucson without breaking the bank. But it does bring back fond memories or riding them in southern California back in the day.

Mate of mine has only one arm, he modified it so he could ride it easier. Swapped the throttle to the other side and did something with the clutch lever. Long time ago!! Cool collection man.
The bike at the auction is a 73, FIRST year, restored by a gentleman in Ontario. He actually had 3 bikes at Mecum this year i think, 2 73's and 1 74. He does impeccable work. An x motorcycle drag racer.
It has original or NOS parts only, any repop stuff like pipes etc would make it much less as far as value.
Your 74 would be worth, maybe half AFTER a restoration. At best.
The 73's are getting out of site for sure. I have had several of them and kick my ass for selling. I just picked up a 78 KZ1000 and may do a 73 clone as a keeper.
Motorcycles are fun to ride BUT, the problem is other drivers don’t see you. In my teen years, I was run off the road up a sidewalk by a tractor trailer by the rear trailer wheels when he didn’t see me. Another time someone pulled out dead in front of me and forced me off the road. Thankfully I had a place to go both times ! Those Japanese “croc rockets “ can do over 150 mph. I can’t imagine ! I have been passed on the Interstate by young kids I know we’re doing way over 100 mph …… Scared me and I prayed I wouldn’t see them rolled up in a ball further down the road. I gave them up years ago, a friend of ours nearly died on hers several years ago.

My folks bought me a used Kawasaki dirt bike, for my 12th birthday, back in the 1970s.
Once I learned to ride it, they couldn't keep me off of it.
And since we had a few hundred acres, I had plenty of room to ride.
I never owned a street bike.
But I rode a few that belonged to friends.
Lovely collection! That ZRX1200 is a keeper, looks real nice! And if you don't know how to pronounce Muzzy, you will 100% appreciate the sound, brilliant engine!
If you ever find a Yamaha RD400, from 1976, BUY IT! It was my first ever new vehicle buy and it turned a classic , cult King-Killer. I remember very well beating the pants off of many bikes much larger displacement than that 400cc 2 stroke. Ah, I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning. 👍🇨🇦. That Jawa/CZ is a great old bike, had me a 250cc CZ dirt bike. You have a nice few European bikes there.

cars and bikes are going crazy insane when i think back in the late 60's up until 1985 the cool cars and bike i bought for insane low money like in 1971 i bought a 1965 Porsche 356 with 18,000 miles in mint mint condition for 650 dollars a 1967 Corvette for 1500 dollars in mint condition and a 1966 XKE for 1300 dollars anyway nice bike collection Chad
Cool bike collection, my brother had an earlier model of the Frances Barnett it had a hand operated gear lever like a car and everyone nick named them a Frantic B@stard and I think the engine was a Villiers 2 stroke

I would feel good riding any of those bikes. I've been riding for 50 years. And enjoy every trip irregardless of size. I guess I'm still a kid.
IMO it’s a great Collection of Motorcycles , and i honestly think that it’s a smart Investmentbfor people your age , especially buying them in the manner and shape you are doing so many of those Motorcycles are ones that hold a special place in my Age Groups hearts and we have the funds and Love to pay high money for the ones that are preserved and complete being stored inside is a big Key alot of those bikes do sadly sit outside and just get to the point it’s not worth the investment to bring hem back BTW the one you thought was the fastest of the Day wasn’t I beleive that era the Kawasaki Ninja held that title for many years of that time ,i rode one and Man were they fast i had trouble keeping the front wheel on the pavement because i didn’t even ride it like you are supposed to ,laying over the Tank Legs stretched out behind you it was the first Crotch Rocket !
