      As for the "Custom Order" description, I think the term "Special Order" would be more accurate (in some instances).
      My 1986 Maple Fingerboard LPC was most likely a Special Order, not a Custom Order.
      Great find Austin, 3-Piece Flamed Maple Neck with no Volute, very cool and Congrats.

      Once again congratulations on the Artisan. It looks great . Don't know if it was exactly like Dave Davies Artisan but I can't say enough how gorgeous it is. I could only ever dream of such a fine instrument. And I don't think its gaudy. I've seen some that would m as ke it look more normal than it is. Oh and as soon as your video is over I'm searching for the Kinks Father Christmas. I used to think my traditional was a beast till I got that Greenburst Studio a couple months back. That Studio weighs 11.47 lbs which I'm not used to any guitar that weighs as much . Although when I was young in the early 70s my oldest brother had came back from the airforce with an LTD LP that felt quit heavy.

      White would definitely have to be my favorite. and it figures it would have to be the most difficult one to find. but a nicely aged one with the perfect amount of yellowing. would be a bucket list guitar for me. which means I'll probably never find one. LOL

    Good evening guys! Hope everyone is doing well tonight!
    I will say that just for myself, I’m not really in to these artisan Les Pauls that much and really it’s only because of the inlays. I’m just not a fan of those “fancy” looking inlays. But I do like other inlays that aren’t the basic kind you normally find on a Gibson or Fender even. I really like the new Ibanez TOD10, the Tim Henson model that’s an acoustic with nylon strings. I love that “tree of death” inlay and I am definitely gonna look into getting on of those sometime soon. Being a lefty that’s now playing right handed, there are SO MANY options to choose from! It’s crazy. I’m happy of course! It’s very frustrating when you’re a lefty. I’m just lucky I was just naturally ambidextrous. And it took less then a couple months to get to where I was as a lefty once I switched.
    I will say, these shows are a little bit cooler when you know you can possibly own what they’re reviewing on RUclips. I love checking out all the options I’ll have now! I’m already loving my JazzMaster Acoustasonic. I really like being able to play electric and acoustic with the same guitar, that is something I appreciate more then I thought I would. And it really does make me sound way better then I am. I like the Shawbucker in it alot! It’s my first humbucker and I definitely feel and hear the difference between that and my old Tele of course.
    Have a good night gentlemen! Another good show Mr. Trogly!!

    I've never been a fan of the Artisan. A little too much for my style and taste. I can't do 3 pickup guitars because I constantly hit the middle pickup and can always hear a tap through my amp. Also a bit too gaudy for my taste. But saying that, I can appreciate them for what they are. Super fancy and intricate pieces of art. Great find Austin. It will make a fine addition to the museum.

    As much as I like the idea of a Gibson museum, I don't think it'd work. There was already a guitar museum with priceless Les Pauls and Strats, Teles, etc., and it closed down due to waning visitations. I can't recall the name of it, but there were some great video tours of it on RUclips. I want to say it was in Nashville or something, but I could be wrong.

    • @Trog
      @Trog  Год назад

      That's the problem, most museums focus on 60s and before Gibsons and are owned by groups of investors who want to turn a profit. Mine will be solely owned by me and mainly feature 70s-modern and mainly exist as a way to store my massive collection in a tasteful way. It isn't meant to be profitable, my YT income funds it all. The museum part won't even be the main feature of my "campus" as I'll have other profitable businesses onsight for the general town's public who could careless about guitars.

    • @f3uibeghardt522
      @f3uibeghardt522 Год назад

      @@Trog Sounds promising, I hope it works out well. I think it'd also be cool to see more 'mundane' guitars in the museum, like limited-run colored Les Paul Standards and stuff like that. For some reason, I like more routine offerings that aren't wildly-unobtainable vintage or expensive one-offs (although I do like that stuff, too). I guess more of a 'completionist' sort of thing as opposed to holy grail rarities. That's why I like this channel - you document everything. But the coolest ones to me are always the more basic LPs that have only small, superficial differences, like those '90s LP Standards that came in 4 or 5 different "colours" (as they spelled it). The other thing I love about this channel is that you actually talk about and show the physical aspects and specs of the guitar without starting the video with some 5-minute-long generic, repetitive, boring blues wankfest sound demo that they think is really deep and moving. Every other channel does that, and they barely even talk about the guitar itself. You're literally the only channel that doesn't do that, and I think that would translate well into running a museum.

    The comment about players that only prefer humbuckers over single-coil puts me in mind of the unboxing video uploaded by Guitar MAX, featuring a beginner-grade Sawtooth model modeled on the Strat. Max does a first-rate job as not losing girth when he switches between H-H, H-S-H, H-S-S and S-S-S.
    It was thanks to this Channel that I have been able to partake of how the bridge and middle humbuckers on a model like this LP Artisan sound. I was afraid I wouldn't like it. It essentially amounts to being just a chunkier version of the same combination on a Stratocaster. Wouldn't mind knowing if that's what I was hearing on two of my favorite tracks from the 70s, "Dialogue" by Chicago and "I Wouldn't Want to Be like Ypu" by the Alan Parsons Project.

    I'm not a guitarist but am a fan of Gary Moore, RIP. That is a beautiful guitar! The sound of a Les Paul is so rich and satisfying..

    Such a beautiful guitar, I am very very jealous! I've wanted a walnut artisan for years but it always seems when I have the expendable cash I can never find a good one.....or the opposite, I see a near perfect one and don't have the expendable cash lol!

    I really like the Artisan model's. I would have to say that the blue one you have is my absolute favorite.
