One of the keys to the Allied success on D-Day rested on the shoulders of the paratroopers who were tasked with securing the flanks of the area of operations in Normandy. Unfortunately, some of those C-47s carrying those men over the channel were hit with anti-aircraft fire and crashed before any of the men could make the jump. In this episode, we're joining Erik Dorr of the Gettysburg Museum of History to visit the exact spot where a C-47 carrying a stick of paratroopers from Easy Company, 506th PIR (Band of Brothers) crashed in the early morning hours of D-Day.
