I have an airsoft polarstar inside an airsoft V2 M4. Is it possible to convert it to shoot gels by only swapping the barrel setup and magazine? Very informative video btw
Hey mate, really good question. In theory, yes mostly? No idea how the M24 is set up. For gel blasters we need to have a rubber piece glued onto the nozzle as there is no hopup rubber to achieve air seal. So you'd need to look into that. Otherwise, can't really see why not.
Yes, but they're less durable than other gels so you might need to dial the PSI down a bit. I could run glows at 120 psi though for reference. The main issue with glows is they stick in mags, which causes feeding issues.
@@SOFTOPS thanks mate about glow gels i did notice the gels do not feed very well in the mags . i was getting one or two gels out the barrel after 10 shots did not no of it was mag feeding issues or the polarstar f2 nozzle is to quick to allow gel to feed in the t-piece . did you find a way to make the gels feed better? thanks for time. david
@@davecherrill7181 yeah so the F2 can be completely tuned, including the timing for it to open and return to battery. This means you can slow it down until you get clean feeds on softer gels, which is super, super handy. In reference to getting glows to feed better - its a mixed bag of control growing (don't let them sit for days in water - let them grow to size then drain), and rinsing them. The glows seem to have some kind of sticky residue, so I've found in the past if you rinse them a few times with fresh water, you can get rid of most of that residue and they feed a lot nicer.
Hey mate - this was filmed at Milsim East & The Village, which is a charity-run Gel Ball field at Wacol, Queensland. I WISH I had the time and space to make a private arena!
You can if you get the Polarstar UGS. I've heard of a few of these running around but haven't tried it myself. The main concern is that the bulbs will probably only last for 1 magazine or so. We aren't blessed with lowcaps yet so it kinda seems like a waste.

Dunno mate, I went through a Polarstar dealer here. I'm not sure what the process is for bringing in parts. Usually individual parts are fine, but blasters are not. Just not sure how ABF etc want to handle something like the HPA engines.
Hey Jamie - there is a HPA specific blowback feature from Wolverine called a "Quake Stock". I haven't seen any examples it being installed with an F2 though.
Depends where you go, and depends on exactly what you're after. I ended up paying around $2,400 for the install which included the stuff in the HPA config list + labor. Prices may vary depending on effort, cost of parts etc as well so keep that in mind. I'm the kind of guy that wants maybe 2-3 solid platforms and I'm happy; I don't need a collection of a million blasters. So all of those benefits made sense to me to drop the cash. There are some retailers offering "out of the box" HPA solutions - i.e. they've predone the conversion and you just buy it as is for ~$2k. I don't have any experience with their handiwork, or the line of products they're using so I can't speak for quality etc.
I'm personally running a Polarstar F2. The guys that did my install are also doing Polarstar Jacks and Kytheras. Outside of that, a few retailers are playing around with Wolverine as well... so basically everything, but a few tweaks are needed - gel blasters use powered mags, so we need to have power running through the system to keep ammunition feeding.
@@SOFTOPS never had a F2 but I've owned 2 fusions and a F1 and now I run a Wolverine Gen2 Reaper which is a closed bolt like the F2 but it's a single solenoid and it's programmable for burst or semi locked
