Why can't we just pick the font we want? I have HELVETICA type outlined and it keeps trying to pick ridiculous choices like wingdings, why not just let the user choose the font? regardless we can change it later, but not one word at a time!

are you able to select multiple lines of text or apply a selected font to all detected text?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out with your question. Currently, the "Retype (Beta)" feature in Illustrator operates on a one-word basis. This means that you can select and retype individual words, but it doesn't support selecting multiple lines of text or applying a selected font to all detected text at once as of now.
Your feedback is valuable, and I'll make sure to pass along this to the relevant team. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to let us know. ^AS

Amazing feature! Too bad it's just not working. The amount of bugs in Adobe software, since Creative Cloud has been introduced, is just enormous. Last time I installed InDesign's update, some of the old features just stopped working.
