I feel like buddy meta would be significantly better if they just changed the way you reduced the cost for your buddy. Instead of -3g for a win/tie & -2g for a loss, it should be the other way around. -2g for a win/tie, -3g for a loss. Not only would it slow things down to incentivize losses, but incentivizing wins like this just makes for the least interesting decisions in any game. Every decision is a cost/benefit analysis. When you add a mechanic that's low cost and high benefit, it trivializes decisions. "Playing safe is the best econ play? Why play any other way?"
New Aranna with the buddy seems nutty. Won both my games today with her. Having infinite rerolls pairs good with many things (for me it was cycling spells and eating the shop with the demon-boars)
As the sole spokesperson for duos, I really disagree with your rant. We are talking from two different perspectives though, but I really like buddies in duos. The combination of classes and abilities make some plays extraordinary.
Hey Bofur, next time you get ETC, try rushing 3 and go for Thorim buddy. You can instantly golden it with your buddy on turn 6 and transform your own buddy into a 7 drop for turn 6 combat. I’ve done it a bunch since this patch and I’ve got 1st every time! Would love to see what crazy combos you come up with having a board full of 7s
Buddy meta might not be the best meta to try hard on, but tbf it's always been my favorite because I haven't tried to try-hard Hearthstone in a long time. (Anomalies are still dogshit though)
