You know what? I think it's time I saw a massive thank you. I was born with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and had lived with it up to the age of about 30 when I started going very downhill. I went from mild to moderate pain all of the time, while taking a medication or three, to being bedridden and wheelchair bound over the last 7 years. I've since fallen ill with two other autoimmune diseases and all three pile exhaustion into the mix. Anyway, I'll get fo my point. I LOVE woodworking. I always have and I'm pretty sure I always will. Sadly, both because my diseases won't allow for it, AND because being unable to work makes it impossible to afford the room, let alone the tools, to create such things, I am pretty confident I'm never going to be able to do much in the way of woodworking in the future. This is where you come in Nick. I'm so thankful that you share your work, and your process with us. Because you do, I get to feel some of the fun of woodworking, even if it is only second hand. I get to watch the wood and resin and other materials become something bigger than their parts, something someone will love for a long time, and likely something that will be cherished by the children and possibly even children's children of the person who gets one of your pieces. I feel that in every completed piece as much as I feel the love you put into each one. Because of you, I get to feel, if even a little bit, the joy I feel when I did wood projects when I was a kid. It's to the point that when I'm allowed to buy new art supplies again (I got the Jazza's Art Box so I'm on art material probation for awhile... so we don't go broke lol) I'm really thinking about getting a little hand carving set, and sending my son out for fallen sticks. You helped me realize this, and if I somehow end up finding some kind of notoriety with my carving, you better believe I'm going to mention you every chance I get lol. So again, thank you. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you, for sharing in your process, the good and the in-between stages, and also the projects that didn't work. Thank you for letting me partake in woodworking, where I couldn't have otherwise. And most of all, thank you for being you, and making it a fun and sometimes silly process for everyone. You truly are an amazing person. I want to also extend this Thank you to @Charlie the Maker. He has also helped me realize that we shouldn't let things like age, or in my case, disease, get in the way of making wood based projects. Charlie, your work is very good for people of any age, and phenomenal for someone of yours! Keep up the awesome work and the awesome personality/attitude. Thank you. Both.
@@expatmoose I have watched many videos a second or third time. I love Nick's videos. :) I've learned a lot, and made my own nightstand, new tv stand, a desk for my kid, and a table with youngest, because youngest wants to learn woodworking, too.
@@kristys7172 wow that’s cool, well done you, I dabble a bit myself here and there, watch him though more for his accent, I come from his home town more or less, as I don’t live in uk now it’s a reminder of home👍🏻
It would've been cool if you put hinges on the one with the live edge sticking out so it could kinda be like a little handle you know. Love your videos by the way I watch every single one.
You’ve inspired me to try and make boxes! My mom passed away a few years ago and we loved to shop at thrift stores and flea markets. She always would find these old cool wooden or tin boxes and give them to me for Christmas or birthdays. This would be such a fun way to reconnect 😊 and of course learn new skills in the shop. Thanks for all the awesome videos and for branching out with videos like these and the restoration videos. Stay funky! 💃🏻
Love it!!! The button top box was voted the best here because of the darker hue/stain of wood, rounded edges, and the vibrant appearance of the buttons. It really compliments each of the different mediums used in your creation. We love too it’s functional too!
Those are beautiful! The one with the nails in the lid is so subtle, my fingers itched to touch it and feel the bumps....yes, I was one of those kids who got into trouble in stores for always touching things...why do you ask?
Nothing is normal with you, Nick!! But you are sweet, lovely, smart, funny, and yes, crazy.... And that's amazing!!!! ♥️ 😊 🙏Stay safe. Love you! Athens, Greece.
I love them all. The button one is my favorite. It reminds me of my Grandma. It is an awesome idea. I wish I had one. I miss her so much even after all these years. I was the 2nd grandchild but the first granddaughter. My birthday is Christmas Eve. She always helped make my birthday so special as well as Christmas. I always got to go through her button box and then my Mom and my Aunts made sure I was given her button box when she passed. I lost the box when I lost my storage unit. You really brought up some incredible memories as I watched you make the button box. 😺❤🤗❤ Thank you for sharing. I will always remember the button box you made. As I said I wish I could afford to buy it.
Nick your ideas are always cool and funky. But what I find even more funky: you have the tools to make those ideas come true. I was even thinking of sending you my button collection or some other stuff in order to see what you make of it. Or your son. And your videos always make me smile in these challenging times. Thanks for that.
Thank you thank you! I enjoy stepping away from this crazy world every once in a while to immerse myself in your witty cheeky and always positive attitude! I love how you think outside of the box with your projects! Sound effects are awesome keep snapping those gloves! Tony U. LI,NY
I love them all. The nail star box is such a good idea, it would be great to make them with different star signs on the top and just the star pattern you did against a dark or black wood, that would look amazing.
Nick, those were the best little boxes I've ever seen. Thank goodness for you and Charlie, as your videos are always something to look forward to while spending all this time at home. Even without a lockdown, you've got the best channel! More boxes and waffle on; safely. 👍✌
You could make some beautiful jewellery boxes as presents for the ladies in your family with all sorts set in the resin. Beautiful sequins and glitter and pretty coloured buttons your vlog ticks all the "boxes" ha!! For me more, more !!!
RUclips softly whispering to me: Hey I know I'm late Me: umhm I'm not spending anymore time with you. RUclips still whispering: I know it's like 2:30 in the am but just here me out Me: Okay what (pretty sleepy getting grumpy) RUclips whispering: Well I know I'm late letting you know when there's good stuff on but Nick Zammeti just put out a new video at 2 am Me: What!? 😲😲😲 Why didn't you just start with that? Me and RUclips at the end of the video: Same time next video Seriously Nick those boxes are awesome!
You know what Nick? If making boxes makes you happy and gets your creative juices flowing then I say bring it on. Besides, I think this is just the tip of the iceberg of funkadelic in boxology and I'm more than fairly interested in seeing what you can do with it. 👍
I'd love to see you do the sparkles in resin thing again, but make a kind of drawing out of the sparkles! Perhaps a fun project for charlie? He could do come channels like he did in his rainbow project, and fill that with the different coloured sparkles!
I especially liked the live edge, lidded zircote box. It was a refreshing change from some of the wacky for wacky’s sake stuff. Not saying I don’t like the wacky stuff, but it’s nice to see stuff like this as a change of pace.
Wow that box with the orange top is gorgeous! I love you more and more with every video! Entertaining, creative, educational. And.... Your movie references! Trading Places! 😆💚
Don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't have minded watching you do all of them. Absolutely love these they are pretty cool....blow that trumpet 🎺
Very nice boxes Nick. Glue squeeze-out along the inside corner of the insert is easily removed using a plastic straw pushed into the corner and run down the length.
These are all so pretty. I love the one with the live edge especially...the sequins sparkles so nicely in resin and the choice of wood finish matches so well with it! Beautiful:)
