Thanks for these good tutorials. I’m self taught and learned all of my single jumps (including Axel) and spins by myself and this wouldn’t be possible without tutorials
Have been watching you since you’ve been at 25k+ subs, I truly love your videos because you explain everything with such clarity. Thanks for making these videos for us skaters. It really helps us all learn ! :) (btw i always love the music you put inbetween you demonstrating the moves, its like your signature trademark)
So, a fancy mohawk? ;-) I still have the flexibility of a sedentary 43-year-old but when I get my mohawk sorted I could probably manage a "low kick" version of this if that wouldn't throw the physics out too much. Very excited today because I'm finally getting the hang of my 2-foot turns (which I've been stuck on for 6-9 months, just convincing my brain to *turn* before I've glided to a stop), and also my backwards 1-foot glides (ditto, working on holding the glide). It's been really frustrating at times so now I'm feeling very bouncy. Plus it means I might be able to segue some practice time to 3-turns and those mohawks!
Oh my goodness, congrats on the turning progress! I know it can be scary to change direction while skating, so kudos for pushing past that fear. And yes, the fan kick is a very fancy outside Mohawk. Good Eye.
This is awesome! I've been trying something like this without any coaching, now it looks way better! Love the transition into back pivot too! Definitely putting in my choreography!💖😻
Wow ! This is SOOO interesting ! Thank you SO much for this video ! 😁It’s really interesting ( like all the videos you make ) 😋 I will try this one for sure ! ⛸❤️
Thank you Julia!! The prep for the first high kick almost looks like a loop entrance haha! I'm going to try these high kick moves in the next session I go.
Hey coach Julia, do you think there could be a video on an advanced step sequence? There’s a beginner, and intermediate one, what about one with half flips, counters, rockers, choctaws, etc?
Hi Coach Julia. I started taking skating class for the first time this spring at the age of 42. I’m not athletic, and I realise I don’t know how to use my hips, so I struggle a lot. Would you please point me to some off ice exercise? 🥺🥺🥺 I tend to wrongly depend on my arms or shoulders to help me turn at the spot (3 point turn, 180degree turn at the spot) which cause me to lose balance and become prone to falling. Then I become more scared, so I slow down, which doesn’t help with the move. Hope coach Julia can give me some pointers as to how to control my hips. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 zillion thanks
6:34 instructions unclear: my kick keeps following me around, taking photos of me, and begging my for my signature.. i think I created too big of a fan
Hey! I have a question. I'm starting my one foot spin and I'm getting a lot of pain in my toe/ball of foot and can't seem to stay off my toepicks. The pain is making it hard to stay where I'm supposed to and I was wondering if you knew anything I can do about it. It's really affecting my spins. Thank you! :)
I don’t have the money for lessons, or the ability to go to them often because of where I live, but I was wondering if I could still learn how to figure skate through RUclips videos like this? Asking anyone
hey coach Julia, thanks for the video! i always enjoy your videos. i was wondering, if you could, can we have a butterfly tutorial?
Oh boy! That would be a fun one!
@@CoachJulia glad you think so 😊
Gosh, think I'm gonna need a helmet to try this one out 😹
Thanks for these good tutorials. I’m self taught and learned all of my single jumps (including Axel) and spins by myself and this wouldn’t be possible without tutorials
Nice work!
Julia thank you for these kick tricks and as always love that slo-mo zooming demo ⛸️💛
Thank YOU so much and I am glad you like the video!
I enjoy your videos so much I gathering the courage and finances for lessons
Hi Coach Julia! Thank you soo much for the tutorial! Your videos are always soooo helpful!! If so, could you do a video on graceful ballet arms?
Wonderful video. It should be kept in mind that height of the kick is not just dependent on flexibility but also strength.
You are absolutely correct! 🙂

Glad you liked it!
Thank you! I don’t have much turn out so I’m hoping I can maybe get something close to it

Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a great tutorial!
and it looks like you could do a hitch kick from this set up as well
I have never done a hitch kick so I can't say, but I love the creative thinking!!
Thank you Julia!! The prep for the first high kick almost looks like a loop entrance haha! I'm going to try these high kick moves in the next session I go.
Yes! It really does look like a loop! Thinking of it that way also helps you get your weight onto the inside leg properly
Could you do an off ice live session that would be fun. Loved the video x

I would like to try those high kick, but all the nearby ice rinks are closed during summer TT
Keep it in mind for when they open back up!

Can you please tell me what blade do you have ?
I use an MK Gold Star Revolution blade. ☺️
thank you so much. do you also have video on illusion ?
Not yet! I will add that to my list.
What da heck is an illusion or a Charlotte? 😅
I did a whole video about Illusions... Did you see it?
@@CoachJulia yes, and you included my comment in the video! I felt so cool. 😎
