    It's uncanny for me. He's unusually sharp, smooth, and extremely good looking and well spoken. He's hypnotizing. It's rare that you come across someone with these qualities all in one. It's as if he's really James Bond in real life playing himself. Very strange.

    The Rose was a Shakespearian theater, the first purpose-built theater to stage a production of a Shakespeare play. In 1989, the remains of the Rose were threatened with destruction by building development. A campaign to save the site was launched by several well-known theatrical figures, including Peggy Ashcroft and Laurence Olivier. It was a popular cause, and Timothy Dalton is wearing a rose to demonstrate his support for it. (More in the Wikipedia article “The Rose (theatre)” ).

    Timothy dalton is a great bond, but from the start he was never given a real chance most of america thought pierce would be the next bond, connery and moore fans never gave dalton a chance, also the living daylights was written in mind for moore, and in interviews with dalton he said he wanted to take bond back to his roots or the early connery films which didnt please some fans, his next film didnt get promoted well plus it was a 15 not pg then we had the 6 years with no bond films. best bond

    When I was a child, I foolishly judged Dalton, before even watching his interpretation of Bond. I was used to Roger Moore and was conditioned into thinking this was how Bond was supposed to be. When I finally got round to watching the Living Daylights, I felt like an idiot, and also guilty. Timothy Dalton was excellent. His performance's inspired me into reading the original, stories. Moore was entertaining but turned Bond into a clown, a carry on character.

    HARMONY7100 The reason why Tim Dalton never played James Bond again was largely due to money problems at MGM/UA after LTK had been released coupled with the death of long time Bond series screen writer Richard Maibaum in 1991. These factors contributed the six year delay on the next film. By 1994 when Goldeneye was in pre-production, Dalton felt that it had been a long enough wait and politely stepped down from the part, which then lead to Pierce Brosnan getting the role. As a die hard James Bond fan, I too wish that Dalton could have done more since his interpretation was so close to how Ian Fleming described Bond in the novels.

    • @user-si9fx4xb6v
      @user-si9fx4xb6v 9 лет назад +3

      JB0071051982 Continued: Dalton had a great deal of fun on both movies. The crew of The Living Daylights (1987) even gifted him one of the rubber stunt Walther PPK's and seven in-active 7.65mm bullets mounted to a wooden base as a thank you at the wrap party. Also Tim remained close to Albert R. Broccoli for many years and was a pallbearer at Broccoli's funeral in 1996.

    • @stuffedsheepshead
      @stuffedsheepshead 9 лет назад +10

      JB0071051982 I read an interview with Timothy Dalton in which he revealed that he was willing to return to the role after the hiatus. Sadly, the producers wanted him to sign a five film contract, arguing that he couldn't return after so long just to do one or two films. Dalton respectfully declined as he didn't want to spend such a large proportion of his acting career in one role. I wish the producers could have been more accommodating; I would have much preferred Dalton having starred in GoldenEye than Pierce Brosnan.

    After the season of comedy and parody with the right man Roger Moore (except the last film), Timothy Dalton - must play in ''A View to a Kill'' - was the right man at the right time. But he was unlucky, because he came to the end of the Cold War (a basic theme in the Bond films script) and in the years 1990 - 1994 without a Bond movie.

    In my opinion, I thought Timothy Dalton played a superb James Bond in "The Living Daylights." I never understood why he was never given a chance to perform in another 007 movie. I think during the late 80s, movie goers were into other types of movies such as: "Honey I Shrunk the Kids," Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, and Rocky movies etc..

    Хотелось бы ответить " Сельским парням". В каждой нации и народе есть хорошие люди, таланты в разных областях, которых можно и нужно уважать и даже любить! Но делать это по отношению ко всем представителям народа, мне кажется не совсем верно, если вспомнить всю историю этой страны по отношению к нашему народу и стране. Надеюсь, что вы немного знаете прошлое и настоящее этого острова. Они всю жизнь нас мечтали изничтожить. Поэтому любить и восхищаться можно только отдельными представителями. К таким относится и многими любимый артист Тимоти Далтон! Он и артист замечательный и человек прекрасный!!! Вот про него и пишите, тем более, что он этого достоин!!! Прошу только без обид!!!
