    @rodeogirl13245 @Mr14NYM15 Actually these animals are heifers, but the tips given can be applied to heifers, steers and bulls.

    i would rinse my steer once a day but when he comes home there is 3 feet of snow.... thanks for the video. i wish i found it last summer cuz we had a clipping incident and he looked bad!

    You can bath them in the winter, but typically it is done indoors. The animals are then dried before they return outdoors.

    Angus cattle are naturally polled, so they do not need to be dehorned. Other breeds that have horned cattle make choose to dehorn them at birth.

    @bikerbro4life We are glad you are in the Angus breed! Be sure to check out some of our other videos.

    Yes, typically most people will do it in a barn. We then use a blower, which is like a big blower dryer, to get all of there hair dry.

    do you clip red angus differently than angus?

  • @rodeogirl13245

    I have a question... My steer doesnt have enough hair to "Puff" him for the show and the fair is in 3 day. Do you think its ok to just brush his hair down? Also, my steers companion steer is getting slaughtered tomorrow, do you think he will be ok not having his friend for 2 days? Or will he be to depressed to eat?

    Hi do I clip my heifer short or leave her fur long because she has sorta long fur

    • @diamond_k_bar
      @diamond_k_bar 8 лет назад

      The longer the better but the head should be clipped if it's a beef heifer, if its dairy clip everything except the bottom of the belly to give a deeper rib look.

      The longer hair the better. It makes it easier for fitting.

      Rinse everyday before a big show at least a month ahead. Then go back to 3-4 times rinsing a week

    @EpicArabianPony welll my dad and i own over 1,000. and i vote angus is the tamest breed of cattle out there!

    • @erickadale75
      @erickadale75 8 лет назад

      Um it depends on what kind of calf it is. My personal opinion is herefords are tame and so are maines/maintaners. But we all have our opinion :-)
