I've seen this video at least 4 times now, while I LOVE the video and machine, I really wish youtube would create a better "watched" function.

This mill is not currently set up to split the processed blocks. We have tossed the idea around of designing a splitter that could handle the volume that comes off the end of the mill but we have found it more efficient to get the timber cut, and split it afterwards if required. A splitting set up would reduce production dramatically.

    Great machine...
You are right! Cutting the logs and splitting afterwards is much more efficient than the combination (cut + split in one sequence ).
I build myself a smaller version of a cut/ split- machine. The combination is much slower than the separation of the two steps. And so I want to separate the sequences again...

@feefee76 the blade is 5 11" and the engine is 110HP. Probably a tad under powered at the moment but 180HP would be maximum required for our application, to maximise production and fuel efficiency.

makes alot of sense having the wood rot on the ground....

Nice saw. Whats the size of saw blade? How many HP is the machine?

with a bigger saw and engine now running, adding a splitter means u could run larger logs...can u charge more for big split wood vs small blocks? no clue...

The mill is currently being fitted up with a new engine and hydraulic pump stack to drive the new hydraulic blade motor. Other modifications have been carried out in this down which will hopefully provide for easier operation, and also lift production of the machine. It should all be hopefully back together around late next week. New video's of some additions to our business will also be uploaded soon.

Ian.........when up and running again please e mail me video........interested in buying/building one because of its ability to handle various sizes and twisted lenghts........here in Ireland there is a lot of first thinning Broad leaves plantations with no machine available to handle the variation in sizes fast and efficently........Frank Hyland
