Nothing beats standard ultra assault riffle the ultra shotgun and plasma rife mk 2 only weapons u need upgraded to shred through anything used it in my first playthrough in supernova mode
DPS is a bad measurement because the target's armor reduces the damage it takes from each shot. Much better to use flat Damage as a guide when choosing your weapons. Better to do one hit for 125 damage than 5 hits for 25 damage each. If the target has 24 armor, the single shot does 101 points of damage but the 5 shots would only do 1 point each after accounting for the armor.
Don't rightly agree with that, as there are many factors that can come into play as well such as Corrosion Guns which greatly address that issue of armor on lower damage per shot weapons.
Just get a light machine gun mkii for both your followers. I was able to get it to 3000 dps with 15% increased rate of fire mod. You don’t have to do anything. The companions with do all the killing.
Couldn't help but notice that there's no mention of the ionized paper knife's unique effect in that it doesn't have a swing limit so you can just keep spamming attacks.
I ended up finding Old Reliable on Terra 2, can't describe exactly where, but i remember there were huge beast looking creatures and quite a few dead bodies.
After my first playthrough, I tried to improve my build and play more efficient but... I ended up murder everyone instead then I played the third playthrough and... I murdered everyone again but _harder_ I just find those enemy and demanding ppl annoying
I can't believe I tried so hard to make the iconoclasts and msi join forces, and it turns out I would have gotten one of the best weapons in the game if I didn't. Haha, that's just typical
When you tinker Salvager's Helper the upgrade is per shot, which it does 6 times. I got that weapon to 750dps almost immediately. It was over 1100 by the end of the game.
Except that the Prismatic Hammer kept tinkered to max with the Weird Science Perk, Wild Science Perk and Confidence Perk with Science Skill and 2-Handed Skill both leveled to 100 makes literally everything in the game a one hit kill. Period. And you can get it the moment you reach the Groundbreaker
I went and got the unique one of kind pistol you get when you do "Doom Came To Roseway" the ricochet is funny. Edit: There's actually two gun's you get from this quest.
Something I'm sure people have passed up is early in the game when you have decent gear you can go and get a Burst Pistol called Irion's Flintlock at level 18 which is what I have it at right now it does 466 DPS or 79(x2) damage per shot. You get this by going to Scylla early in the game. Your welcome hope you enjoy 2 tapping everyone you see on story mode.
I'm new to The Outer Worlds but did play New Vegas through a couple times so it feels familiar. I'm currently level 11 and primarily use the plasma rifle modded with the 60 round magazine. I have accumulated a bunch of mods so far but need to figure out which weapons/armor to mod with which mods. Thanks for the video. New subscriber.

These are great unique weapons, but I prefer to simply mod a standard weapon, usually to shock damage. Try giving Light Machine Guns (Mk 1 and later Mk 2) to your companions.
When you start tinkering with them the lvl2 or ultra or whatever power hammer has the most damage per swing out of everything that I've came by. Granted I haven't had the one that cycles through the effects yet.
What did i choose with the MSI and Iconoclast issue? Well i keep saying to myself 'choose a side' but i keep choosing the peaceful option. 😅 It's not for reward but it's just for a better monarch. 😆
making friends with groundbreaker the iconoclasts and MSI means you have a lot of help on Tarteris they all turn up to help and it's just as satisfying winning 'if not more so" the game as the hero as playing a psychopath
I went with msi only because zora wouldnt let me be the middle man to negotiate she said i thought too much likr Graham... This is my 1st play through so im already planning my next and trying to see where to make different choices lol
I went with the Good Word, because I've always loved rolling as a heavy gunner in these kinds of games. Flame thrower weapons just never really did it for me, except for the Cleansing Flame from the Gun Runners Arsenal pack in Fallout: New Vegas. In the Outer Worlds my two constant weapons were the Ol' Reliable and the Rapti-Don't that I kept leveling with my character, though I did also have another Hammersmith HMG that I would tinker with and alternate between Mag-2-Ray and Mag-2-Power depending on what kind of damage I wanted to do. Haven't played the game since the DLC has come out. Maybe after I'm done playing FO:NV I'll revisit Outer Worlds again and check out the DLC, if I'm not too heavily invested in Cyberpunk 2077 by then.

I think you can actually get a Spacer's Choice Helper in the first area from someone because the name seems familiar and I haven't played past the first area yet.
Generally, in the Outer Worlds the unique weapons are sub-par, the unique armour is mediocre, and the unique hats are fantastic. (Science weapons are a separate category.) Normal weapons are more powerful than unique ones, since you can modify them how you like plus it's cheaper to get them to max. The only unique weapon that I like is the Hand Cannon. Not only does it do explosive damage for area of effect, but it has the fantastic Knockout effect, and it's high enough level that it doesn't break the bank to upgrade it to max. With that being said, I typically always carry the Soft Speaker for the skill bonus anyway, so using it for some stealth kills on occasion is highly convenient.
You don't give credit to the saltuna flamethrower, I use it as my primary weapon so mater what side you choose in the canids cradle quest you get a great reward!
B4 decide which s best dps, i'm more concern about ammunition loot rate n ammo efficiency. Just like, I know mini-nuke hav insane dmg in Fallout4, but getting enough ammo to nuke all the fights s a really troublesome part.
The way that the weapons are leveled in this game is a huge pain. By the time I find any unique weapons, they're useless, and making them useful just doesn't seem worth the expense. They should have just had them scale automatically to you, relative to your associated skills and perks.
There can be. A High-damage, single-shot weapon can have a relatively low DPS, but allow you to go through your enemies more quickly and improve you ammo efficiency. (An enemy with 100 hit points gets taken down with a 100 DPS weapon that fires a single round per second just the same as a 200 DPS weapon that fires 20 rounds per second, and the job is done more quickly. Thinking in terms of pure DPS is a bit of a trap.)
@@thanatos5150 to assume that all enemies you will face will be able to be one shotted and to assume that you will be facing a small number of enemies that wont be able to damage you much between shots (this combination is the only way what you say is viable) seems absolutely absurd.
I was disappointed in the unique guns because all the common variants are better because they can be modded where as the unique guns have one preinstalled mod.

either you played for 10 hours a day or skipped a ton of side missions. Another tip is not to fast travel a lot . This second time around I took the long routes and back country instead of sticking to the main roads and fast traveling just to get done quicker. You'd be surprised how many other characters , weapons and hidden entrances you miss out on not doing it
Well short if you play games over 100 hrs...i did everything in the game and took me 44 hrs...id like another planet like terra 2 atleast but i expected 20 hrs like some people said...it was never boring to me and for double A game it was very good.

Story lines makes it much more interesting. I like regular shoot 'em up games as well but I get bored of those quickly due to the repetitiveness . Good example, I love DOOM but get bored quickly after a few plays . Still like playing them but it doesn't hold my attention beyond 2 hours of play unless it's online playing against other gamers

oof... using Vault-Boy on a The Outer Worlds video feels like a slap to Bethesda's face because of how well it fits.
Personal favorite is "The Negotiator", the Joch Bolter Pistol you get from Malin as a gift for killing Clive.

One unique weapon I LOVE is the Coolant Distributor. AFAIK it's the ONLY weapon in the game that comes with Cryo (chilled) damage.

Agree, I managed to 2 shoot the final robot boss with a shotgun with corrosive mod on supernova dificulty.... the game is a bit broken.

Marshall Gears light machine gun mk2 with shock damage and maxed out/tinkered has 3000 plus dps I recommend it heavily

@@CGoody564 There are plenty of builds where you'd expect to oneshot every enemy, even on Supernova difficulty.
Is this game any good? I've been on the fence about it for awhile because it's made by Obsidian who made the last good fallout game.
