Huff was a situational edge that was specialized in rushing the passer, and brought in on obvious pass plays with the Jets. With us we were trying to make him a complete edge and expect him to set the edge, which he did well, from what I saw. His sack numbers will be effected by this as he is playing a different role even though it is the same position. When he comes back, I will still hope the sack totals go up, and hopefully will as we saw his numbers went up as he got more games in playing this new role.
He was absolutely terrible at setting the edge. He has improved a little, but not nearly enough. He needs reps, at practice and on the field. Unfortunately, this is a setback. He probably won't be a starter again this season. We just have to hope he heals well and continues to improve.
Can't blame Baun if he decides to go somewhere else to get paid, but I'm really hoping he'll go the Smitty route and value being on this team more than maximizing his pay day. In any case, we're gonna have to find some more money to keep him and he'll deserve every penny
