We identified this condition when my kid is 14 months of age. It was hard for us to digest the news after assessment. They said it was mild. We went for 2 months therapy and then we had to move to canada. As a mother I am very keen in observing every thing my son does. We did all the things we can at home by taking tips from therapists. It can be behavioural, cognitive, social, motor skills, you can 100% acheive at home. Core strength is also very important for them which helps them stand in one place which is first step to acheive their attention. So since 2 years he is going for swimming classes and improved alot in core strength and also in posture. ALL WE CAN DO IS TO DO THE BEST WE CAN. He has friends and like to be around friends and other people. I have to admit that this is not easy. You will lose patience very easily. But come back more strongly every time. Who the hell autism will decide how my son will going to be? As a parent it is 'us' how we want them to be. I know we gave my son some hard time for therapies and doung things which are hard for them to do. But it is for their own good. There is nothing to feel bad about as parents. Now my son is 7 and perfectly doing great in school at home. Do not give up. Just keep trying without checking on results and expectations. Expectations will definitely pull you back in this case and which leads to weakening of emotional state.

So glad that you started this awareness channel, there still lot of lack of awareness in our society regarding autism, I would like add that few things that you misquoted is lack of attention or watching TV is NOT a cause for autism, like you said the causes are unknown it could be genetic and environmental factors or a multi factor of causes no one knows, and like you said there is no “recovery” from ASD the only thing is helping the child cope up with their symptoms are therapies….. I have a child who is on the autism spectrum so this is very close to my heart…..god bless you and your kid…. And all the very best..!!!!
I too believe its not genetically driven.. watching too much TV at early age hinders the brain development and lack of human interaction leaves no cues for the child for speech development. My son also has speech delay becoz of these reasons and early therapies helped him a lot

I applaud you for starting the blog for awareness. But what you have said about watching tv and not giving attention to child is not the reason for autism. It could be environmental, genetic, some medicine side effects, and sometimes vaccinations. You said no genetic effect, but unless you do full blown genetic testing you can’t say that. Lot of parents are blamed by families when a child is diagnosed and they use the same reason that you were busy working and child got autism, please don’t feed into their ignorance by statements like that. By your logic every orphan child should be autistic. I feel for you wholeheartedly as a parent of an autistic child myself. But don’t blame yourself or other parents for a child’s disability. Early intervention, meaningful engagement and structured environment are the only way for improvement. I can say that now as mine is 19yr old and has come a long way.

I have two daughters, my elder daughter went to hostel last year and all of a sudden my younger started feeling very lonely and started spending lot of screen time, as she is doing good at studies I took her screen time easily, but now I understand how bad it is, I am spending time with her but after watching your video I realised that I should give her more and more time, next year my younger is also going to hostel. Yes Sir even we r also facing same problem with our second child, mine also same condition no moral support, i am workin while handling my son, he is 4 and half, he isn improving day by day, i give more fruits, expose him to nature, still no speech, when he is diagnoised at 2.8 years, he is having zero eye contact, no respond, hyper, now he improved a lot, got eye contact, response and etc good qualities in him. Plz parents dont loose hopes plz put efforts, definately they will be the best. And Vihaan also gets well soon.

@Dev Stop the screen immediately .. he will cry for few days and won't eat anything. No problem at all. You will save him from further damage by stopping screen. Early intervention is very important. Take him to developmental pediatrician.
My son same like your son, but my son has ADHD too, very hyperactivity, nonverbal, my son 8 year old. I knew how hard for us as a parents to care ASD childrens. My son loves water, i put him swimming classes one o one. Your son has talent somewhere but you should find out and let him to this. My son like outdoor activities, bike, scooter ride n climbing too. Very crazy for lawn mower and where ever he listen sound he ran and try to do mow the lawn. Our childrens are specialy able childrens. They have talent. My son same like your son when he was one year n two year old. Very Happy and bubbly boy. Happy boy. When my son diagnosed at 3year old then we are shocked and we don't no about Autism. So glad that you started this awareness channel, there still lot of lack of awareness in our society regarding autism, I would like add that few things that you misquoted is lack of attention or watching TV is NOT a cause for autism, like you said the causes are unknown it could be genetic and environmental factors or a multi factor of causes no one knows, and like you said there is no “recovery” from ASD the only thing is helping the child cope up with their symptoms are therapies….. I have a child who is on the autism spectrum so this is very close to my heart…..god bless you and your kid…. And all the very best..!!!!

I too believe its not genetically driven.. watching too much TV at early age hinders the brain development and lack of human interaction leaves no cues for the child for speech development. My son also has speech delay becoz of these reasons and early therapies helped him a lot

I applaud you for starting the blog for awareness. But what you have said about watching tv and not giving attention to child is not the reason for autism. It could be environmental, genetic, some medicine side effects, and sometimes vaccinations. You said no genetic effect, but unless you do full blown genetic testing you can’t say that. Lot of parents are blamed by families when a child is diagnosed and they use the same reason that you were busy working and child got autism, please don’t feed into their ignorance by statements like that. By your logic every orphan child should be autistic. I feel for you wholeheartedly as a parent of an autistic child myself. But don’t blame yourself or other parents for a child’s disability. Early intervention, meaningful engagement and structured environment are the only way for improvement. I can say that now as mine is 19yr old and has come a long way.
If possible re-edit the video to change that part - you don’t want to put misleading information and defeat the purpose of your blog.

I have two daughters, my elder daughter went to hostel last year and all of a sudden my younger started feeling very lonely and started spending lot of screen time, as she is doing good at studies I took her screen time easily, but now I understand how bad it is, I am spending time with her but after watching your video I realised that I should give her more and more time, next year my younger is also going to hostel. Yes Sir even we r also facing same problem with our second child, mine also same condition no moral support, i am workin while handling my son, he is 4 and half, he isn improving day by day, i give more fruits, expose him to nature, still no speech, when he is diagnoised at 2.8 years, he is having zero eye contact, no respond, hyper, now he improved a lot, got eye contact, response and etc good qualities in him. Plz parents dont loose hopes plz put efforts, definately they will be the best. And Vihaan also gets well soon.

@Dev Stop the screen immediately .. he will cry for few days and won't eat anything. No problem at all. You will save him from further damage by stopping screen. Early intervention is very important. Take him to developmental pediatrician.

My son same like your son, but my son has ADHD too, very hyperactivity, nonverbal, my son 8 year old. I knew how hard for us as a parents to care ASD childrens. My son loves water, i put him swimming classes one o one. Your son has talent somewhere but you should find out and let him to this. My son like outdoor activities, bike, scooter ride n climbing too. Very crazy for lawn mower and where ever he listen sound he ran and try to do mow the lawn. Our childrens are specialy able childrens. They have talent. My son same like your son when he was one year n two year old. Very Happy and bubbly boy. Happy boy. When my son diagnosed at 3year old then we are shocked and we don't no about Autism.
