It's basically just a stuffed crust pizza because Papa John's already had a great garlic dipping sauce. What they should have done is put roasted garlic on the pizza itself.
Yet he never does choose to topple a single food source empire because that shows real and true power knowing you could end one's existence yet choosing not to do so
I love how this guy is always wearing shirts, vests and suits that are like two sizes too large, but still somehow fit perfectly. The juxtaposition of the formal clothing with the fast food he reviews is kind of ridiculous but I love it. But seriously though, this guy's reviews might be the most in depth and honest fast food reviews I've ever seen. I'm European so most of the establishments he reviews don't exist where I'm from, but I like hearing his opinions.

As an employee of Papa Johns (Assistant Manager), when this was being released and learning the process in what it takes to make this, it is actually one of our more complex pizzas to make, considering all the preparation that is needed for the crust to be what it is. I will say, it is a good pizza, and the crust is worth the hype, however, like you said, if we are expecting something overly garlicy, then this will not be a miss. Also, if you want a little more crunch on the pizza or a little extra bake, ask for the pizza to be well-done (stays in the oven for an extra minute and a half to 2 minutes). I will also say, we have something else releasing soon that is similar, so stay tuned!
@@sparklthecat Yeah, am hoping they take that off of the menu sooner rather than later. Where I am at, we hardly sell them, lucky to hit 10 in a week. I would rather them bring back the Thin Cripsy Parm crust we had a few months back, personally that was a fun item to make and very tasty. Also, wasn't a pain in the rear to prepare!
I'm glad Papa John's is experimenting with crust flavor. I was sad when Pizza Hut stopped offering crust flavors. Until now Domino's was the only US pizza franchise left offering crust flavor. I'm glad we have 2 US pizza franchises offering crust flavor to choose from.
What do you mean? Little caesars was the first atleast since I can remember and I'm 31 now. You have to ask now though its called crazy crust. And they might still have it but the pretzel crust pizza there is so good but it's a come and go thing

Every quarter of the year, a life insurance agent comes by my work and always has like 10 Papa John's pizzas delivered. I always visit after everyone has seen the guy because all the boxes are empty except for the peppers and get to eat a whole pepper with each bite ha!

hot tip, try the cheddar cheddar sandwiches at Rallys/checkers there are 2 to choose from, chicken or Buford. I had the Buford and it was mouth wateringly amazing . it was so good that i made up a new word just to describe it.
I agree with your assessment. I ordered this yesterday and expected garlic overload. I barely noticed it. I went and got my garlic powder and sprinkled it liberally on a slice and that met my expectations. I like the dipping sauce, but one cup is not enough for a whole pizza, and at $1 per cup, it is not worth it to buy extra. The tomato sauce did taste excellent.
The specificness of describing the amount of garlic is perfect. That's exactly what I was wanting to know about. Sounds good, but disappointing for my garlic craving. Thank you!
The stuff inside the crust if just the itallian seasoning from our packets btw. And only as much as what sticks to the string cheese when we put them into a container and shake them with it.
As someone who works at Papa John's, not sure why they'd say there's garlic inside the crust. The cheese inside is flavored with the Italian Seasoning blend, but not garlic. Garlic Parm and the 2 cheese blend before it goes into the oven. Then it's hit with the garlic parm again after it comes out of the oven. But yes, no garlic inside the crust.
This is such a perfect review. I just ate one of these, and was looking for videos about how they're made, and found this. Your comment that there just doesn't seem to be more than cheese in the center of the crust is exactly how I felt. It seems to be a stuffed crust pizza with garlic on the crust....but I challenge the notion that there is any actually inside the crust.

i used to eat Papa Johns all the time when i was in my 30's and then i didnt care for it to much. I got one about 3 years ago and threw it in the trash after one slice. And this looks EXACTLY the same. Hope it tastes better.
Folks, remember that in Italy they use WAY less garlic than do Americans. I've heard top-flight Italian chefs complain that American implementations of classic Italian dishes "Reek of garlic."

You can just bake a whole garlic, peel it and spread it on things. This is a thing you can do.

i used to eat Papa Johns all the time when i was in my 30's and then i didnt care for it to much. I got one about 3 years ago and threw it in the trash after one slice. And this looks EXACTLY the same. Hope it tastes better.
Folks, remember that in Italy they use WAY less garlic than do Americans. I've heard top-flight Italian chefs complain that American implementations of classic Italian dishes "Reek of garlic."

@@NukeisAfriKaner Anyone who doesn't want to embarrass themselves when cooking for Italians, anyone who cares about how a dish is really supposed to taste, anyone who understands that overloading the palate with strong flavors in the midst of more muted flavors destroys the intended experience, and perhaps many more.
@@adamchurvis1 This clearly wasn’t intended for Italians dumbf**k. Hence it being sold at a USA pizza chain. Not everything has to cater to Italians. Most Italians don’t like Deep Dish either. That don’t mean Deep dish is not good.
Garlic is great so it don’t matter what another country is doing… hell it don’t matter what the other pizza joints in town are doing… always more garlic…
