At last. Somebody who can design their own book cover images in Photoshop. Everything else I've found is about finding marketplace images or vector graphics to create a book cover, usually in Canva. I only use raster graphics. Seeing you do too is so encouraging. I subscribed.

Nice book! :) what kind of color profile do you set in Ps? CMYK? and what kind of? I am confused about that (making a simple journal for the 1st time)

I illustrate in RGB - here is a video about my process where I cover a TON of questions (which can all be applied to a cover as well)! I hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/prhgFcAWHl4/видео.html

Bethany, when you have some time, would you be able to make a video in how to design a cover using InDesign or Krita? Just another option for those who don’t have photoshop

I will keep the idea in mind for future videos - I can absolutely do an InDesign cover tutorial and will look into Krita! Thank you for the suggestion 😊

Honestly no, just anything that fits the mood of your book. Browse through font websites and pick 5 to 10 that stand out to you and just keep trying them out on your cover until you find something that fits your style. Every single book will be different and have its own vibe resulting in a different font choice so there isn't really any set font or style that I can recommend that will fit every book. Wishing you the best of luck!
