Excellent video. Question - let's say that it was a _large_ passenger London bus passing the screen (instead of an jet wing) coming from the background to the foreground (i.e., "traveling away" from you down the street). Would you rotoscope the ENTIRE bus? Or, do what you did with the wing, break the bus into different planes? I hope I was clear and not confusing. Your thoughts.
You always try to do the least amount of masks as possible. The issue you may run into is, as the track gets bigger it’s harder for it to stay on the edges. I would break it down into 2 halves (top and bottom) if it doesn’t track try breaking it down again.
pretty hard thing to do actually, takes me a loot of tries/days right now getting into it. Hey I have one question: I did it exactly like you in the video, going from AE into mocha, tracking an object (table legs) and copying 2 (all) layers into clipboard and pasting mocha mask on AE track - but somehow my 2 mask layers are sticking somewhere outside and not moving at all. To clarify: Cam is tilting from above to under the table (replacing the ground is my goal), so the table is out of frame in the beginning and then comes in. My 2 leg layers stay outside and don't do the same movement as in Mocha. do you have any idea why those layers aren't moving once I've pasted them to AE-track?
Hey Paul, Mocha has an alignment thing that you need to be very careful about. When you take a clip from ae to Mocha it takes the entire clips length by default (ignoring the in or out points on the time). When you paste back you need to make sure you paste from the very start of the clip I.e. frame 0. That is not the same as pasting at the start of your comp as you clip may start at a different frame. If you don’t line up the frames the masks won’t line up and you get similar effects to what your describing. Maybe just double check that, it sounds like that’s where the issue is. Cheers
The way you approach your videos make it easy to watch and inspire enthusiasm in the process. Would you be up for making an in-depth video on using Mocha (not Mocha pro) combined with Content-Aware Fill in AE? Mission: removing someone from a medium wide shot.
Hey thanks Ambrose C, appreciate the feedback. At this stage not right now but maybe in the future. My MotionFX Pro course dives deeper into using the different aspects of mocha. Launching very soon!

You are the one that really helped me!!! Thanks again!
Watched about a half a dozen Mocha videos and this one is the most straight forward, to the point and easy to follow. Keep it up mate!

Much love for that clear understandable tutorial. Going to try that now for the first steps on a floor replacement.
Awesome, best of luck!

I am in AE 2022, I can't see Export data options. even find in menus. Looks like removed from AE Mocha.
Try Just hitting save in mocha and then closing and going back into after effects. Look under the drop downs in mocha under effects control panel.
Layer, not Laya
