I love sweet potatoes so much: they really my health along with my whole food plant based diet! This year I will be growing 3 kinds Okinawan, Japanese and Beauregard...so excited to grow these and eat them all the time! Deborah
I can not wait to implement sweet potatoes weekly in my families diet. Thank you Dr. Lome. I need to lose 30 pounds. Or should I say I want to and just had lumbar fusion not quite 4 plus months ago. I know I can’t rush my workouts. I just want to stick to a wfpb plan. One obstacle is I had gastric bypass 13 plus years and a few years later with other complications due to neck fusions then a year later I had a craniotomy. So it’s hard to fill up on fresh vegetables.
I make a vegan chilli from sweet potato and butternut squash. I usually add extra to cover all my vitamins etc. Like chestnut mushrooms, courgette, okra, spinach, pumpkin and flax seeds, also a pepper. Plus a few tins of choped tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, chuck in garlic, chillies and ginger and a tiny bit of extra virgin olive oil. Along with Chipotle chilli paste, ground cumin and ground & fresh coriander and a squirt of lime and lemon juice. Then, serve with rice. Everyone loves it when I make it, and it's so filling. Can you look into Yam please.
In his latest interviews the Harvard guy Walter Willett keeps pushing his claims that carbs like sweet potatoes are bad and poly unsaturated oils are good. You make so much more sense but it’s frustrating that his Harvard group just doesn’t get it. I wish there was a clearer story on this. The idea of replacing some beans, oats and potatoes with oils sounds so ridiculous to me but this camp keeps saying this is what they want us to do.
Great question! Awesome set up for my next video coming next week! All about beans! Now the sardines… That video will be coming, probably in a month or two, but sardines may not be ideal for heart health depending on the person’s specific situation. Stay tuned! Hope you liked the video!
Beans and sweet potatoes… two of my favorite things. Thank you for all the great links and your continuing support. 😊
Mine too!!! Your welcome I love spreading the good word!
Puréed orange sweet potatoes, with a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon, frozen over night and put through the ninja creami. Delicious.

So is even avocado oil on sweet potatoes a bad idea?

Thanks for throwing all the trash serving methods out of the window right at the beginning 🍠
Yes!!!! That’s why potatoes get a bad rap. All the fat and sugar people put on them!
