Everybody talk about the weight , personally taking about 220 kg as heavy is because nobody has driven a fully loaded bike ( with the suitcases , bags, etc,). We have to remember that this bike is for touring. About the quality... I had a tnt 300 and we (My wife and me) did a 7000 km ride from Argentina to Chile , peru and Bolivia with cero problems, now i have a trk and very happy. This is my personally experience.
I bought my one In 2018 and it has already nearly 25000 miles. Yes it packs some weight but it never let me down. I have the full givi kit (top box and panniers)
But what if a guy is shorter at 5 foot 4 inches like me. How could one manage the bike. Because I too do long highway rides often with lots of luggage... So if I add luggage on the already heavy bike, would it not become much more tougher to handle for short person like me
@@vishwasps8877 Thats your problem , not the company. If you are 5 4 , look on nakeds that can take some weight , not 230kg machines that can crush you. Im 6 3 200 pounds and can get it around (502x) , if you are a smaller dude look elsewere.
I own a suzuki gsxf 750 210kg but it has power and it his heavy but thats why i like it, on the road it has presence and stabilty i will probably buy the trk
Good balanced review. I've been looking for a bike to get back into biking after 20 years away. This looks like a good option for the older rider who doesn't want to spend all day at Mach 7 with their hair on fire!
Hello Cager, I bought my SR 400 after seeing your review. Good enough for me to begin again riding a bike, after 16 years. Please, make a review of the new BMW 310GS. Thanks.
People are hammering Benelli because of it fusion with the Quianjiang Group and saying it is bad and that all bikes out there are better. Now, the best way to make a comparison is to do like with cars...grab a few bikes, cover them up and test drive them. That way you will not have your mind set that bike A,B or C is built in Asia or Europe ou where ever. The biggest defects are in peoples brain and not in the product itself. Anything today is assembled in Asia. It is all down to numbers and makers can achieve more building in Asia.
I would say the best advice is to go test ride it. Basically, all the reviewers are kinda experienced and often coming from bikes that cost three times as much. Of course, it is going to feel worse than those bikes to them. But coming from a 125cc bike or a scooter, trying to get into motorcycle touring, I bet it wouldn't feel sluggish or "cheap". If I was upgrading from a 125cc bike this would be a better choice than any other "multistrada" type expensive touring bike, even if the price was no object.
thanks for the review, very interesting, I have a tnt 25(251), had no problem with it, no rust, do the maintenance myself, do no big problem, and very reliable. spare part are very chip, very happy with it, and I am thinking to exchange mine with this one.
Having owned many high end bikes of which I still do, BMW and MVAgusta, I have just bought one of these after two road tests as I found it excellent value for the money. I think some of your criticisms are a little harsh as Benelli has done very in keeping the price down on a no frills adventure style bike.
As far as I know, the CB500x doesn't come with handguards as standard either - that's another ~100 €. Also, I don't understand exactly which functions the Benelli TRK 502 dash is supposedly missing? As far as I can tell, it even has a gear indicator which the Honda lacks.
If it was mine I would put a braided brake lines on it. Benelli are apparently releasing a 800cc model in September and I'm really try to have the patience to wait for it.
Nice one cager, have watched a few videos on this bike , but your the only one booting it, you have got faster over the years eh? Keep up the good work, cos I think you have sold me this bike! And give up the cages man!!
The Honda also has a more uncomfortable riding position with a sharp knee bend. The size of the TRK suits larger riders and the extra weight is off-set by stability..plus I wouldn't want a bike that's capable above 100mph where I will never be travelling at, so why pay for a bike that has a huge amount of. Power and technology that is never used..lovely machine
it's a shame for such a new bike being underwhelming when it has so little competition in its class but goooosshhhh does it make such great noises i've tried benelli's 150 moped recently, which is fitted with usd forks as stock, but sluggish engine as well gotta wonder just what is benelli aiming at
I tried this bike as well: the only thing I would change is the position of the footboards because I'm tall and, in that way, the person is a bit too much inlaid in the bike. The unit I tried had a very good brakes. For what concerns the engine: finally, I don't fell the need of a bigger engine and during my tour it was good enough to take you everywhere. What I'm scared about is the reliability in time because is chinese. Thanks for testride, funny and well done!
How much would the Honda CBX weigh if it was specced up with the pannier racks, large shield, handguards etc.the same as the Benelli ? Got to compare apples with apples. Also, people seem to forget where some KTM, Honda, Yamaha and other brands are made - in China, India and Malaysia. I have a Benelli BN 600 GT and have had absolutely no issues and will look at the TRK 502 for the adventure aspect.
Hey Cager! Yet another great review again! I am a 20 years old rider from Greece, currently I ride a cbf 125 2012 model for about 2 years. I am looking to upgrade and my priorities are decent commuting, economy and touring capabilities. The first model I had in mind was the honda CB500X due to your review, but once I found out about the TRK 502 its design and extras along with its price got me hyped.I wonder if it's really worth it to go after the way better looking TRK 502 instead of the guarantee of honda. I would like your opinion if it's worth it and if it would be good for the use I am after.I am not the kind of guy who wants to 160+ kph all the time, would TRK 502 manage 120~140 easily 2 up,with top and side cases? Thanks in advance for your time! And keep doing these great reviews!
What a prat. Should be taking it easy on it. It is what it is, 47bhp. It's not a sports bike or going to have a huge midrange, or top end rush of power! It's a comfortable off road bike for country roads. Not everyone lives in the fast lane. Not doing stupid speeds and dropping gears going up motorways! Moaning about the weight. It's not made out of paper or titanium. It's cheap. Its kitted out. It'll go all day at 70 -80 in comfort. Do reasonable mpg. Looks smart. Buy it, keep it for years, that way you don't have to worry about resale.
The weight is 213 kg and not 235. after driving it for a while i Love it ,very very smooth driving and enough power for 2 with lougage .Made in Italy and not China. The comments on this bike is full off mistakes .through the years i have had several bikes, shadow 1100 ,suzuki gsx 600f Virago 750 suzuki bandit and now the Benelli trk and it is by far the most comfortable bike i have had . Try it and feel the comfort.
I own a gsxf 750 and thinking about the trk just its a slower bike and wonder in my country about parts liter and the long livity but i saw many trk on youtube with a bunch kilometers
I have a Keeway Superlight 125, same brand, same big bike feel small engine, same unrefined. after less than the 3 years rust is eating it and all the money I saved is spent in maintenance. Chinese marketing technique is giving lots of spec and equipment for less, but then out of 4 lever positions you can only use 1 and on an emergency brake the two discs setup only "managed" it and the bike wobbled.
I own their TNT600 which I've been riding to work pretty much every day since 2014. Apart from a fan relay that died and a clutch cable that broke, never had a problem with it. Cheapest 84 horses ever and I'm surprised it has been more or less reliable.
in the video he mentioned the turning is somehow slow (responsive?) but when counter-steer is in use, is very quick from my experience... maybe you're right. i might not have enough experience to watch as first person view
Yeah, It's cheaper than the Honda, but when after a couple of years you get your full license and you want to upgrade, no one will give you any money for this thing.

For touring with 3 Koffers and a wife very unterpower.. 2.cheap Chinese build.. Check the plastics the windscreen the switch and overall.. Chinese build Italian look.. 3.Many issues.. I have gearbox problem already and the rear brake is spongy.. Other guys have water pumb, thermostat, fuel pumb, gasket, leak from Cooland etc.. 4.bad servise and support from this China company.. Is not benelli.. Only the name is.. Positives.. Comfortable, very beautiful, good fork, many extras.. I don't suggest this bike.. Better choice a little bit used versys or vstrom or cb.. Not this bike.. I love it but this is the truth
CAGER, great videos but you're constantly breaking speed limits & thus rdiing DANGEROUSLY....130 in an 80 zone isn't legal or clever! ...ditto 120 in a 60 zone...ditto 155 in a 120 zone...NOT GOOD! ...Watch out or you'll have an accident and damage yourself and/or someone else!! ..And you will influence other riders, especially younger ones to do the same. Do you want that on your conscience?
Hi Cager! As always, great video! ;) Portugal has some great motovlogers! ahahaha I've just testdrive the Benelli TRK502X too, if you want to check it: ruclips.net/video/qX8L8-Nq9hI/видео.html . Greetings from Porto ;)
Chinese bike and quality. A new rider will outgrow that in a heartbeat. Sluggish engine and handling. Poor investment. Heavy as a R1200GS... in other words.. get another bike :)
In that price range, i would go for the CB500X, no doubt. At the moment i ride a 650 Transalp, before that i rode a 929 Fireblade. I never wanted the GS1200 :) I tried one, and its not for me. To big and fat, and doesnt give that quality feel that the price should give you
All ur saying is a personal opinion, i know a guy who uses a gas1200 for commuting. Fucks sake he even buys grocery with it since he has no car. You need to remind yourself what ur getting for the money ur paying not to mention the fact the gs is a traveling bike whilist the cb500x can be used for home to work , home to shop center , home to place near by all within 3000km range including the trip back home. I've no idea where u live but considering the kind of bikes u had except for the 929 u enjoy traveling. Wanna compare a road trip Italy Cape horn on a cb500x/Translap650/ GS 650 / GS 800( Which is just a hiken head empowered bike that only has issues considering the engine was made to close up to the 1200 but it just cant) and at the very end, the same trip but with a GS 1200Adventure? Money is money but if you pay money you get stuff. Unless you buy chinese shit.
Well the trk is 700 euro cheaper and 4 times better equipped compared to the cb500x.... It's more of a touring bike than anything else, it has 3 suitcases, ofc it's gonna be heavy. This bike is made for those who want to do trips but are in no rush and if a new rider gets a 500 but wants speed he will outgrow it soon anyway. For the price, it's an awesome bike, no idea about reliability though
the the best feature of this is the sound. best sounding bike for a 500. trust me watch the whole video. it sounds powerful as hell like a 3 cylinder ruclips.net/video/Q5yLev7exj4/видео.html
I remember when British bikes ruled the world, and Japanese bikes were said to be 'crap' by a lot of bikers. It took just 10 years to destroy the British bike industry, because you got better VFM and reliability with Japanese bikes (they didn't leak oil for a start!). Motorcycles today are a consumable product for a lot of bikers. The Chinese have made massive strides with improvement in quality in a very short time. The factory is overseen by Italian staff from Benelli. Quality can only improve and it's not bad because of Benelli's input. As a relaxed, comfortable, 60-70mph all day touring bike, it makes sense.

Alexis Tosta wise talking..enouqh said..thnx.
Alexis Tosta also look at BMW, KTM and Harley they all build models in India. Not to mention RE.
And Honda is building in Brasil Tailand...etc
Wrong.. Doesn't matter the country who build the bike but the quality.. Trk 502 has Chinese quality.. I own a trk 502x..cheap build,.
vagelis koios is the bike of yours worth it? Was thinking of getting one
Great review i think the 2023 is now better in plastics etc

Hi Cager!
Is it possible to make a review about the Benelli Leoncine Trail?
That'd be great! :)
How much would the Honda CBX weigh if it was specced up with the pannier racks, large shield, handguards etc.the same as the Benelli ? Got to compare apples with apples. Hi Cager, can you please do a Kawasaki x300 review?
Hello there .... How tall and heavy are you? Are you able to flat foot this easily?
The weight is 213 kg and not 235. after driving it for a while i Love it ,very very smooth driving and enough power for 2 with lougage .Made in Italy and not China.

K Khalifah benelli is probably one of the higher quality chinese brands
Brilliant unbias review and really informative too. Thanks fella... :)
Bom dia. What an awesome city to ride thru.
You should do the kawasaki versus 300

Easily the best sounding parallel twin engine ever. Too bad it's gutless. Needs another 200cc to properly shift the 230kg heft..
K Khalifah The Husqvarna Nuda is a parallel twin. So is the MT-07.
Even the Benelli 302 sounds better than this.
I hate the sound of a Nuda...
Lubova Videa Go see a doctor.
Do you think I should see a doctor because I don't like sound of a motorbike? Lol :D
K Khalifah benelli bn302 being a parallel twin sounds really good ... that too with stock exhaust.

wait.... is that the (legendary) Tesla Roadster???????
Yes it was!
hey bro, seem you're not using counter-steering on your cornering?
i think the weight is from those bigger diameter shocks, twin disc etc...
The Game Countersteering is the only way to turn a motorcycle ;) So even if it may not look like, hes doing it (see twist of the wrist) ^^
in the video he mentioned the turning is somehow slow (responsive?) but when counter-steer is in use, is very quick from my experience... maybe you're right. i might not have enough experience to watch as first person view
i will be receiving this bike soon after my 302 hence looking forward to it. :)
Yeah, It's cheaper than the Honda, but when after a couple of years you get your full license and you want to upgrade, no one will give you any money for this thing.
Pedro Silva you obviously dont know anything about bike market 😂
Hope this Benelli TRK502 will come to Taiwan one day~XDD
can i bring my TRK502 to Taiwan?
I am not sure...because I don't don't know about the law =^=
can you help checking a bit? if you have time, pls do a quick google search in Taiwanese. I believe there is a regulation. Thanks a lot
OK I will try but I am not sure if I could find something~
Thanks a lot
Spongey brakes... Usually air in the brake fluid and needs bleeding.
Notice that big white van.
I like this bike bcoz of its nice appearance, cheap price & branch name come from Italian.
But just much wonder about reliability & durable from this manufacturer, especially its 70% branch owning now is belonged to Chinese & its were produced/assembled in China ! Generally speaking, almost nothing from China is good ! That's the fact
Who can let me know should I buy this bike ?
Your SLR camera and iphone are probably made in China or Taiwan, NOT Japan as you thought.
Says the guy who most likely owns everything made in China.
whats the Top speed on this thing ?
from other website - about 170km/h
182
Why are you taking risk testing a bike for a vlog? Look it's just a vlog. Not worth it.
the only problem for me is the service interval, every 3000 km, very short!!!!
6000
my height 169cm..can i ride this monster??
Im 175cm and im still playing around my mind to buy it or not to buy it. I tried it at the showroom and I was tip toeing, Now im not sure if the rear suspension was open or closed,(Closed making the bike taller, open making the bike more lowish).
You are riding more and more risky these days.
Yes he is, but he is still much better than all the fully commercial reviews on RUclips. I bought my CB500x in part on his recommendation and I am still very happy with it.
Moto cool. I have not yet seen a bike that does not look cool. But I continue to regard Japanese.

By plasticy I think you mean brittle...
Weights almost as much as a GS1200 :/
I own a trk 502 x with 1400 km until now.. If I can go 4 months back I will not buy the bike...
1.Very heavy.. 235 kilos. For touring with 3 Koffers and a wife very unterpower..

As a relaxed, comfortable, 60-70mph all day touring bike, it makes sense.
chinese?? OMG~!! No wonder catch up with the "little truck"
That's like comparing Triumphs with Enfields.
