She has eyes like Princess Diana and a most beautiful and captivating smile, even into her old age! She aged gracefully in the face of many challenges. Such a powerful effortless voice! Rest in painless peace, Olivia Newton-John ️ agreed!
In another post I actually paid homage to the fact that John Travolta got to dance with ONJ and Princess Diana (lucky guy!). I never thought about the possible likeness in looks but I believe you’re absolutely right! Both beautiful and alike in speech and mannerisms too. Nice tribute…life is very short.
I thought the very same thing when I saw the documentary last week on the anniversary of Princess Diana's passing. Olivia Newton John and Princess Diana both beautiful eyes, same color hair, and a gorgeous smile! They both did so so much for different charities, and both loved there kids so deeply. The loss of these 2 ladies is heartbreaking.
The way she sings Hopelessly Devoted to You just always gets to me. She has such a beautiful and powerful voice. Rest In Peace to a beautiful person inside and out.

I'm a 52 year old aging Gen Xer watching as, one by one, everyone I ever knew growing up, including both my parents, just dying and leaving me alone in an ever increasing shitty world. RIP to a woman who defined the term "sweet innocence" there will never be another Olivia Newton-John.
😁 it just comes with age. I know it sounds like an obvious thing to say, but the younger you are, the less dead people you know. I'm turning 38 soon and I feel just like you do especially because I don't have any kids or family of my own. Since I have one thing not everyone is blessed to have, good health, I've decided that I'm going to travel and experience as much as I can until my own time comes.
This makes me so flippin sad. She was such a huge part of my childhood. I still sing the songs from Grease and others ❤️ I did this with my mom, who died from cancer in 2010 after I graduated high school. Double sad. We used to dance and sing the songs and I dressed as Sandy for Halloween when I was 16. Rest with Love, Olivia ❤️✨
Being a teenager in the 70's, I just loved her music. Now, as a 63 year old grandmother, I am mourning her death. What a truly beautiful person she was, inside and out. Thank you Olivia, for all the joy you gave us with your beautiful talents. God bless you, and I pray the Lord welcomed you to Heaven with open arms.
I wasn't too far behind you as a little girl in the early 80s. I loved Olivia Newton John. My brother and I watched Grease a million times and I used to sing along to her Xanadu soundtrack and Physical. She was such a huge part of my childhood and I'm really sad to hear that she's gone. She bravely fought cancer for so long!
so sad to hear of her passing. i remember seeing grease in 1978, i was 13. i was completely blown away by her voice and acting. i just loved that movie. her recording career was amazing too. my favorite songs she recorded were, Magic and Suddenly
Magic she did with her daughter cool as still beauty and charm when she did it in 1980 with a brilliant backup band she always had that Pop/Rock edge.Suddenly pulls your heart strings abit but it is a great duet with Cliff Richard
"I honestly love you" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written & no one could have sung it with heartfelt emotion more than Olivia. Rest in Peace, sister!
I survived breast cancer 2 decades ago, stage 3. Olivia was undoubtedly one of the best entertainers in the world. I’m heartbroken we have lost a beautiful sister. 😭
But they always say '"passed away peacefully". Well I know fellow patients of Mum that weren't so 'lucky', crying out in pain. My mum died in my arms in 1999, a shadow of the strong midwife she was, just staring at me, until she passed away. People say 'the last breath' - It is real, but not like in the movies.. The last breath was exhaled after she died, a guess a minute later. Shocking. The only consolation I have is that she stared at me, and a few hours earlier I was the only person she accepted that offered her a cola, by straw. How she even accepted me as the only person she would accept any liquid food from in her last hours has been a mystery to me. Maybe it was just my voice, my smell, or maybe it was nothing. I don't know, but I'm still heartbroken by this event. The person that put me on the world died. I couldn't grasp it then and can't grasp it now.. 😢😢
@@janverboven My sentiments exactly. For some lucky souls their departure from this realm is indeed peaceful but for others definitely not. Like, you, I'm forever 'affected' by being bedside to my dutch/Indonesian father, along with rest of our family. The healing is ongoing and will likely never be done. I know for sure, how I don't want to die, if given the choice. I have since researched assisted death and will definitely be considering it. I'm truly sorry for your sorrow. There's many like us out there. I can imagine your mother would not want you to waste your remaining life mourning her so much that your life is miserable. Your grief is your process. Everyday we can only do our best. Perhaps we all meet on 'the other side'. In the meantime, honour your mother's memory as best as you can. I imagine your mother is very proud of you. I know I am 🙂
My Mom love you very much. We'd watched Grease over and over again. My Mom passed in 2020 from cancer and is missed very much. Rest in peace Olivia with my Mom.
I've been amazed reading all the condolences for Olivia on different sites today. I think she is a rare celebrity that everyone loved and absolutely no one has said a bad word about her. Keeping it classy for almost 60 years in this industry.
This hits so hard. Growing up as a theatre kid, Olivia was my idol and I absolutely adored everything she did. RIP Olivia, you were such a strong, talented, passionate and inspiring woman ❤️😭
News of her passing is devastating. Fortunately, she achieved so much in her lifetime and lived a relatively long life. RIP Angel you will be missed!😥❤
Even though we knew she was ailing for some time, it is still very saddening to know that we have lost her. She was such a cool and inspiring person, as I have known of her for five decades now and I watched her in that movie, 'Grease', and I always remember that very catchy song, 'Summer Nights', in fact, I hear in one of the supermarkets at time, playing in the background. Thanks to her for those sweet memories including her campaign for fighting cancer. My condolences go out to her family, friends and fans. Rest in peace, Olivia.
I am a 52 year old Australian. Olivia represents pure beauty, innocence, kindness and genuineness of soul and spirit rarely found. I feel so proud that she represents the very best of the Australian way on the international stage. I feel like a bright light in this world has been unexpectedly extinguished. I did not know Olivia, but I feel very saddened by this like so many. I just sat my 18 and 21 year old kids down to watch the tributes to Olivia so they at least understand what an iconic Australian she is and that her strength, spirit, positivity and humility is to be forever considered exemplary. Rest in peace. 💐😞💖
I am a massive fan of Grease and Olivia. It was one of the first movies I was obsessed with as a kid. Very sad to hear she passed away, but her legacy will live on forever.
What legacy? What did she do for society? A cancer "wellness" center she asks random working class put to fund with donations? Instead of funding it from her multimillion dollar estate? The wealth she never truly earned? That legacy? She was a PERFORMER with a mediocre movie as her acting career's one hit wonder and a singing career that has done nothing for society. I bet you can't name a single Purple Heart recipient EVER yet you know every word to every song in Grease? Right? Few celebrities deserve reverence and more than passing mourning from strangers. John did NOT do anything to earn such praise and mourning. She wasn't Princess Diana. She wasn't Mr. Rogers. She wasn't Robin Williams. All of which were tirelessly empathetic and ALTRUISTIC public personalities. But, lazy and shallow people always conflate mere celebrity with value in society. After all, you don't have to do any legwork or make any effort to sit on a couch and stan a random celebrity from a MEDIOCRE musical that aged poorly. The only reason I say GOOD RIDDANCE os to combat the idiots that didn't even know this woman - acting like she was mother teresa. She was a shallow, plastic surgery plastered PERFORMER that did LITTLE to contribute or "give back" to society for her unearned wealth and privilege in life. Most of you are incapable of understanding altruistic duty and true empathy though. Hence the empty praise for an empty PERFORMER.
I’m 52 and I remember the first time I heard of her was watching her sing this song in the movie “ Grease “ back in 1978. RIP Olivia and God bless you.
Olivia Newton John filled our lives with such beautiful music, the world today has lost such a beautiful Icon. She fought so hard to beat the cancer, what courage and strength that took. So honoured to have known this beautiful lady! She will be sadly missed. We love you Olivia.
I honestly love her voice and her strength and devotion to fight cancer. She's 73 and she's more beautiful than any 20 year old. Wish that there are more people like her. So long Sandy :('
I am 60, The 15 year old boy in me is mourning the death of Sandy. You are so firm in my memories of a happy adolescence, God Bless and thank you Olivia - let those country roads take you home.
Undeniably she has been the only international singer who raised the charts with one single and never changed the style. There will no longer other artist like her. my condolences.
I always thought she was great, way before Grease...as well as after Grease! The first song I adored of hers was If Not For You. No better rendition, IMO. Something Better To Do, while not a huge hit...I've always enjoyed. She had some great duets and also sang back up on one of John Denver's songs, Fly Away. Her distinctive vocals were easily detected. She was such a pretty lady, and never played up her sexuality card. Always...fresh-scrubbed, never tawdry. As they say....her smile could light up a room. She was very likable and truly blessed. So sad to see her go. RIP
This woman was a huge part of our childhood (like many others). My sister's slumber parties with dance contests and Grease music playing in the background when we were kids. Instead of getting us a babysitter, my mom used to just drop us off at the movie theater where Grease was playing. My heart cracked when the title of this video jumped out at me.
Grease was the first movie I went to see without my parents. I loved her and John Travolta. I believe it was the summer of 78. My God, a better era. Another good one gone.
I keep tearing up everytime they talk about John Travolta's tribute to her, as I know how much he loved her. Best friends for over 40 years and she was such a Lady. Poor John has endured so much heartache, he will be devastated by this news. Rest in peace beautiful Lady and Thanks for the memories. 🎶 🇦🇺 💔

Olivia, you'll never be forgotten and thank you for approaching and promoting cancer research and awareness making it a little less frightening for survivors and their families. RIP Angel.
..Beautiful singer. Overcame cancer again in 2013. Diagnosed again in 2017 and by July 2021 had changed to a plant-based diet. But fasting a body into autophagy healing itself is a proven cure. Avoid all processed foods and artificial chemicals. If already thin, then feast and fast for autophagy. Medical industry can't profit from fasting. Beef is the most nutrient dense food.

Oof. She was a really mean person to “commoners” like my dad who installed her security system. There is a reason she didn’t have anything but Grease on her resume.
I will be age 68 in December. I will always remember when first hearing Olivia Newton-John's "I Love You, I Honestly Love You" on the radio in 1974. Her singing voice is full of innocence to my ear. Her singing voice is as gentle as a light spring rain to me. And of course her films are cinematic gems. I'm saddened today on the 9th. of August to learn of her decades long struggle with her cancer has ended her life. 😔 Her cancer died with her.
Her angelic voice never changed and her beauty was immeasurable. I cried when i heard she was gone. I loved her purity and innocence. No matter how bad the musicians sang openly about sex and dressed half naked to sell their music, Olivia never sank that low.
My dad usually listens to it. He has been doing it since the 80's, since he was a kid. Thanks to him, I started listening to her for as long as I can remember and now as a young man I listen to it from time to time. I feel her departure as if I had been a very very assiduous fan of his music. It has left a hole in my heart to hear the news.... A beautiful woman, not only physically, she was gorgeous, but she had a unique voice, charming and with a special touch, that touch that only 70's music can give you. She was a very beautiful woman, with those factions that make your jaw drop because of how natural she is. And the humility she exuded, was also a characteristic trait... you don't see it nowadays... A unique woman, in all aspects, has left us, it will be difficult to see someone like her again and less chance for the way the world is going nowadays. I'm not going to lie, I won't be able to listen to her song in the same way knowing that Olivia has left us. RIP. Fare thee well wherever you are.
We grew up with Olivia Newton John. Her voice from the 70s through Grease was clean, classy with a beautiful voice. She crossed all barriers. We will deeply miss her 😢 💔 ♥ 😔
Wow, I didn't realise she was 73 already. Only knew her from Grease but thats enough to know she was gifted in many ways, i was 12 or 13 when grease came out and remember seeing it several times at the cinema with my friends, I was starting to get independent already so this was a very special time of my life. Thanks for the memories and Rest in Peace.

My brother and I watched Grease a million times and I used to sing along to her Xanadu soundtrack and Physical. She was such a huge part of my childhood and I'm really sad to hear that she's gone. She bravely fought cancer for so long!
She was a very special person, whose light, love and warmth made everything feel better. We will all miss you, Olivia.
Love for onward journey Olivia … ❤️❤️❤️
It’s amazing how Olivia was 73 and yet she only didn’t look any older than being in her 40’s. Olivia literally had the voice of angel.
Trotzdem war sie nicht gesund, mehr Schein als Sein. Schönheits-Op‘s/ Botox haben bestimmt zur „jungen“ Optik beigetragen 😉
so sad to hear of her passing. i remember seeing grease in 1978, i was 13. i was completely blown away by her voice and acting. i just loved that movie. her recording career was amazing too. my favorite songs she recorded were, Magic and Suddenly

I agree
She will never be forgotten. A great women

I just sat my 18 and 21 year old kids down to watch the tributes to Olivia so they at least understand what an iconic Australian she is and that her strength, spirit, positivity and humility is to be forever considered exemplary.
